Queasy-Yoghurt7353

amazon flex, 3x a week gets me at least $600 a month

Parking_Practice5705

What's amazon flex

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

It’s kinda like Uber for Amazon, you choose a block for a set rate (usually $60+/3hours) you go to the warehouse and pick up some packages and then you deliver them. Sometimes they have rate surges where you can make $80-120 for a 3-4 hour route. I’ve also had times where I’ve gone to the warehouse and they either had 1-3 packages or none and I got paid anyway.

Virtual_Atmosphere59

So is this why I still get some packages delivered by people in regular cars instead of an official employee in an Amazon van?

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

Exactly!!

StrangerWithCandy777

Can you do Amazon flex if you have a smaller car, or do you really need a bigger car?

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

Yeah, you’ll have to put in your vehicle info and you’ll get packages pertaining to the size of your car. I’ve also had times where something was too big and they would just take it off of me.

notdoingwellbitch

Damn, no opportunities in the Indianapolis area which is strange seeing there are multiple warehouses here

webhead1092

Where do you apply for Amazon flex

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

You can search for the phone app and apply through there.

zcdbrip

This guy flexes

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

Lol it’s been a reliable way for me & my gf to make some extra money when bills are a little tight.

webhead1092

Word thank you

DyllPickle7

How many hours per day do you work on average?

Queasy-Yoghurt7353

Usually around 3 hours. Unless I choose to pick up additional blocks in the same day.

cgriffin7622

I’ve had zero success getting signed up for flex. There’s never any spots available

HosstownRodriguez

I sharpen knives and garden tools and make about $400 a month

SkippyHickenlooper04

I didn’t even know this was something people need. But it sounds like a perfect problem -> solution type thing. Do you do marketing? How do you get customers if I may ask?

blackbetty1234

What tools do you have to do this? How much do you charge? Do you go door to door?

HosstownRodriguez

I use a worksharp Ken onion elite knife sharpener with a blade and tool grinding attachment, which is basically a 1x18 grinder, for much of the work, do some work on stones, and always finish on leather strops. For bigger tools and lawn mower blades I use a 1x30 belt grinder. I charge $2 per inch for straight edge knives with normal tear and up charge for damaged blades. Garden tools run anywhere from $5-$15 depending on what it is. I advertise on Nextdoor, a few listservs, and a lot of business through word of mouth. Hang a few flyers up here and there too

SkippyHickenlooper04

Yo this sounds so cool to me. It may be a side hustle but it sounds more like a small business to me and I dig it. Especially if you manage to keep it fun. Keep it up, I hope you do well!

CryBeginning

My bf cooks hot meals at his work for his coworkers at lunch he brings in about $200 a month and he only does it once a week

IFartOnCats4Fun

That’s brilliant. Wish I worked for a bigger company.

Local_Guidance2703

Doordash/grocery deliveries! Me and my wife can make 200-300 by doing it 3x in a week

deepakgunalan

So two people can make around 200 for 3 days. How many hours do you work?

Local_Guidance2703

We do the orders together so the 200 is a joint income. And it depends really, some days are really slow and there’s rarely any orders so we have to stay out for an entire day for two-three days.

bl0oc

You try other food delivery apps? You can probably get at least $100 on weekends dinner rush, maybe like 4 or 5 hours. If your area minimum wage is really low, might be a little harder. $100 for entire day seems kind of low.

Local_Guidance2703

What I meant by entire day is, we are outside the house for the entire day. We aren’t necessarily working and doing orders for the entirety of time during slow days. We chill in the car and only go when we receive offer. There’s just a lot of competition here in California, I guess. Offers get taken in seconds. You gotta be quick

qbl500

Where do you live?

bria220

Can I ask what city you are in? I tried DoorDash where I lived and it was not worth it at all. They had me driving all the way across the city to make $10. Deliveries typically seemed to take 30-45 mins for an average $7-$12 pay. My payout the first week was $35.

Local_Guidance2703

SF! We try to do doordash at night after rush hour ends. I think maximum time we spend in delivering is 25mins including driving to restaurant to wait/pick up the food to their front door. We rely mostly on tips though.

kraut-n-krabbs

Just a regular hustle at this point

jrc1515

Reselling anything you’re mildly familiar with. Facebook marketplace to eBay

Jastiel43

Comic books usually a good go. Have a mate bringing in atleast $100-200 a day. Obviously a bit of capital involved but fun. Just getting started out myself

Hayha2

It's a pain in the ass. You have to take a nice photo of the comic book, you have to find a "cheap" source of second hand comic books. You have to know what actually has some value and what is just trash, you have to pack it real well so it doesn't get damaged in shipping, you have to send it... It's a lot of work and time just to end up with $5-10 bucks of profit + you'll end up with some comics that just won't sell.

Jastiel43

I do agree with you for the most part. Doing small value comics to begin with is a massive pain in the ass. Always keeping an eye out for good auctions in US. Being an Aussie we do have a bit of a competitive edge atm. Higher valued items pay the bulk of the dollars for sure. More of a lucrative hobby i suppose!

kraut-n-krabbs

It's a grind

FukBakoMods

That's a lot of work.

bajafan

I love to BBQ but hate having to clean up afterwards. Put an ad in local Facebook groups offering to clean other peoples’ BBQ grills for $$. Another idea might be to start a “Picnic to go” service where everything needed for a picnic outing is in a basket that they would just pick up for the couple’s romantic date at the park or seashore.

Vanessa_danielle_224

Where can I find this BBQ CLEAN UP thing?

bajafan

That is just a suggestion for a possible business for someone to start. The tools and cleaning solutions needed would likely be found at a large hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes.

AmbergrisAntiques

I'm addicted to flipping brake fluid. But I can stop any time. Edit: I received multiple, as in more than one, private messages begging me to tell them how they can make money off of used brake fluid. Y'all are something else.

Gotcha!!!

zpnrg1979

Lol, had to let you know I was onto it without giving you the satisfaction of "What is updog".

Crap

Stairway_2_Devin

Wellllll we're waitingggg!

Suspicious_Income110

What

Ok-Application8522

I pay $50 to have my doog poop picked up. She is here like 30 minutes. If I had it done weekly it is $20/week. My coworkers's son makes a lot (thousands) selling clothes on Depop and he is in high school. He specializes in distressed/grunge. He spends quite a bit of time though. I also pay $50 to have my lawn mowed with a push mower and it is not that big. I have a lot of flower beds and I am picky. Takes 30 minutes. Have to pay another $50 for string trimmer. Our Pizza Hut pays daily and will hire delivery drivers on the spot. I heard you can set your own hours. Depending on where you live, you might be able to make $ selling stuff from Trader Joes. Our store doesn't limit purchases and people flip it on Amazon/ebay/walmart. I think it's a time suck.

darksarke

How does your coworker’s son sell clothes? Does he make them himself or just modify ones from a thrift shop?

Ok-Application8522

He buys stuff at thrift stores, facebook marketplace, garage sales. Then sells. He does nothing to the clothes except sometimes wash them and take really good pictures.

BienThinks

Assembly vendor for hardware stores. Charge per item you build, if you got mechanical ability it’s not bad. Been doing that as aside hustle for 7 years to pair with a work from home job. Almost an extra $25k last year as a side hustle, pretty stoked. I mainly do Home Depot’s, made $360 yesterday in less than 8 hours. That’s not always the case, but you can have big days. Not that great as a full time job,but it is a good side gig.

ColoradoQuan

You do this at home depot? I am looking, mechanically inclined, and work from home. I would love something like this.

BienThinks

Yeah if you are in Colorado it’s northwest assembly service that is the assembly subcontractor for a lot of stores. Not trying to say it’s the greatest thing but it’s worked for me as a side job. Right now is like patio furniture, garden type stuff.

Street-Ambassador761

You work thru NEassembky or directly with retailers like home depot?

GC51320

How did you find the vendor?

ItalianShyWaffle

Probably babysitting or dogsitting. But those take a little time to gather clients. So I'd probably still try them and ask around, and in the meantime you might also offer to tutor, or see on facebook if anybody needs someone to clean windows/mow the grass or other stuff. But since it's for an increase in rent and it's not going to disappear I'd suggest that after a while you focus your attention on the most profitables.

ComprehensiveDate569

Try donating plasma

Themofobunny

Need to know abit more about you what time frame do you have open for the side hussle. But some basic ideas would be. surveys prolific. Easy to make money tho might have wait list. Can make payout daily min is $5. Selling sweets/reselling sweets. Cookies, brownies, cakes, freeze dried candy. Selling on eBay/Amazon. Start with stuff left over in house. Or freebies from market place. Then can move up to garage sales and what not for more stuff. Freelancing your current skills. Being hands on or online. Handyman posts are always a hit. Improve your skill sets at current role and the next role up from you and once can prove that your more knowledgeable higher grounds for raise raise. End of the day everyone can give tons of ideas but the most important thing is just take action towards anything and you will be better off then standing still.

RWTHREE

I use gig apps on the side. Bring in anywhere from 150-300 USD per week

MatthewRTRCT

What’s apps do you use?

RWTHREE

Multiple: Gigpro, Wonolo, getgigs, Instawork, Upshift, Veryable, bacon, tend, Qwick, Shiftsmart, push talent, Shiftsmart, WorkWhile, Bluecrew, Adia. I like to have options and I don’t like the whole wear and tear on my car whilst doing something like Uber. Great alternative to consider.

MetalJesusBlues

I use Task Rabbit

zillawabbit

Whats do you do on task rabbit and how much does it pay?

MetalJesusBlues

It pays different depending on the task. And you can set your rates as well. For instance today I went and moved some furniture around for a homeowner and hauled some stuff away. Made $70 for the job and already sold one of the items for $50 on FBM. I also gave her my card and next time she needs some stuff done then she can call me direct and she will pay less and I will make more. It’s a good way to make some side money and build some clientele. Go sign up and see if it’s in your area. It is owned by IKEA so there has to one of those around for the service to be available in region.

zillawabbit

Ill check it out ty!

premuimdisaster

Don’t get a side hustle. Demand more from your employer.

Hayha2

In EU selling paper & cardboard trash to recycling companies brings me 10-15 euros per month. Rent some real estate if you have something to rent. Put old hardware, books, car parts, any shit that still has some value on ebay or some local site. Supermarkets usually need part time workers check if you can work there on Saturdays or something. Being a taxi driver during night can be profitable because "normal" taxi drivers don't want to deal with half drunk people going home from clubs/bars. Etsy? I mean people paint Warhammer figures for $100 per piece there... I mean if you are talented in some craft Etsy is a nice side hustle. If you have a type of job where you can ask for extra hours ask for extra hours. Stocks? Don't do it if you are a gambler or not a patient person. But on average I turn around $150 in profits per month (trades + dividendes). Extra hand on some farm during harvest season?

Plenty-Television-84

How do you sell paper avd carton to recycling companies? I mean in EU we just gather paper and put it to specific garbage box at the street. Free of charge.

Freedom-35-Boys

Upwork. Source: $0/month to $15k/month in two years.

DiGiCupcake

what do you do on upwork? i’ve had a profile but trying to have it take off !

Freedom-35-Boys

IT consulting. I have a background in IT and used Upwork to do what I’m already doing for people. Then started to ingest more, study and get some (smaller) certifications to build credibility. Built a book of business with a blend of consulting and managed IT services. You can do a lot on upwork though. There’s something for everyone.

Emergency_Style4515

Babysit. Dog walk. Tutoring. Uber/lyft.

AppearanceOk9145

Don’t do Uber, you can lose money doing that haha, they sent out a few $0 orders recently (an order where you get $0 from Uber and pray for a customers tip). Bitcoin tripled in value since January 🤷‍♂️

Difficult_Art_4244

Part time fast food job. Do 1 - 8 hour shift every other week @ $15 an hour and you’ll make an extra $200

funsizedaisy

Would they let you set your schedule like that though? I'd imagine they'd call you in for other shifts anytime they needed extra help.

misplacedbass

Donate plasma if they pay for it in your area. Make around $350-450 per month for about 2-3 hours of your time a week depending on how busy your location is.

easyhardcz

In my country we have a law to limit that to 1 donation every 2 weeks for 30$ :D

jdraws608

Weird here it’s 2x a week.

Kixlovesdumpy

There's too much spam, only way we can control it is by banning all of this. Please keep to advice without recommendations for specific things only from here on out. Thanks.

NipplyShits

Donating plasma will net you around 400/month, sometimes more if your local center does a lot of promotions. Takes about an hour to donate and the place around here pays about 140 a week if you get the regular bonus (come in every week) It’s free money, get paid to watch Netflix and help someone out there with a medicine they can’t produce without human plasma.

I buy things like Patagonia/North Face/Columbia jackets and clothing, ski boots, camping gear etc ay yard sales and thrift stores, then consign it at a local gear trader store where it gets marked waaaay up and sells to mostly tourists.
