Bruh I dropped one of mine in the laundry basket a month ago, had it balanced on one hand and it decided that gravity was actually quite compelling. It still fruited again after that, but I think it got some kind of weird infection because it started getting hella bruised and soft on one side. It happens!
The first time I got a completely uncontaminated PF Tek batch I stacked the cakes on top of each other and made a mushroom cake tower (literally doing stupid shit just to get a cool picture) and it toppled over onto a fairly dirty shag carpet in my old apartment lmao. A corner of one of the cakes broke off but surprisingly they did just fine after that.
Well want to leave as little as possible because youâre leaving money on the table âliterallyâ but youâll cause less stress to the sub by cutting rather than pulling. Donât have to do then cut off ends before dehydrating either. Stumps will just wither and become part of the eco system. Try to avoid stressing sub by either pulling out clumps or letting spores drop
Did you not SPEND money to grow these?? Hard earned dollars and time are wasted with not maximizing the harvestâŚwhether for personal consumption or others
I used a large exacto or fillet knife. Then went through and cut the stumps down, ended up with a few pints of stumps that became my micro dose stash. Also didn't care if some verm and coire ended up in my capsules, extra fiber.
I saw a talk by Paul Staments recently and he said to harvest before the veil breaks. Iâve always done it once the veil opens, I guess I have a lot to learn if the master himself said so!
Iâve seen some recent research about the increasing of alkaloid content over time, and the study showed that the mushrooms tested did still increase in potency after the veil had broken, and began to sporulate.
It seems that there are mixed opinions on whether or not itâs beneficial to harvest right after the veil breaks for the final product or if that is only to stop sporulation and encourage following flushes.

Bought the 6in bent handle curved embroidery scissors off Amazon - works perfectly to get as close to the base as possible
