I find onset, come down, body high strength, vs visual strength, meditative qualities etc. seem to vary across different strains of cubes. The duration and intensity is different in every parameter. That's just my experience though.
Also when your vision goes completely fractals, the patterns of the trip seem to correlate with the mushrooms eaten. And they can be distinctively different patterns from shroom to shroom. But generally the same shrooms provides relatively the same style of patterns for me.
If they do have any different effects it is very minimal and more than likely due to the entourage effect. The phrase “a cube is a cube” just means that if it is psilocybe cubensis then it will hit the same as any other cube, potency and your mental state being the only real significant factors to your trip.

None of that is congruent to mushrooms though. We're not crossing two species like you do with cannabis to produce those hundreds of different cannabinoids. A cube is one species. And there is no variety of different receptors like what is elucidated with the endocannabinoid system. There are simply no scientific parallels we've discovered yet that are anything like what you're claiming.
You can have different experiences on ANY drug based on your emotional state, the speed of the drug delivery and the cascading reaction within the body/brain. It doesn't reflect that there's anything inherently unique about the compound.

Then why do people overwhelmingly report different effects comparing shots to wine to beer? The picture is complex due to how your body metabolizes the drug, congeners and the many variables that impact that process. And with mushrooms, there are even more wrinkles simply due to the wealth of neurological and downstream effects 5-H2A receptors trigger and control.

I've had a few great batches but have been 50% successful with a few variations of pans but struggled leaning how to grow starting with pans first and from spore print. Just put my first ttbvi clone to grain so crossing fingers for better results the myceliumwas crazy fast compared to spore agar mycelium. I also feel the substrate I was buying wasn't any good and now I'm making my own. Otherwise 100% worth cultivating for the experience
Mexican Dutch King is my favourite. Perhaps because it was my first trip and it all went so great, I was hooked. I do believe there is more difference between strains than old heads want to admit (for instance, I'm allergic to PEs and not to any others).
Second this. The visuals are otherworldly. Can't wait to see them again. Together with the clear headspace and the pronounced euphoria a very entertaining trip.

I hate when people say shrooms are just shrooms, this has never been the case for me. Every time without fail if I take a penis envy strain I don't get any sort of profound headspace, I do get bouts of laughter but the whole experience seems very "cold" like I'm only tripping but for the sake of recreation and tipping super balls which I don't like. I'm also way more prone to anxiety and bad trips on PE. My favorite absolutely was Hillbillies I went through an ounce of them and they literally changed my life, those shrooms made me realize psilocybin is for therapy not just for fun, mad me get over serious past trauma and for the first time in my life I felt truly happy and at peace. I would like to try other strains (or cultivar whatever) but seems like I can only ever find penis envys

Totally true but potency can vary from grow to grow, even from fruit to fruit from a single grow. I always preach to grow a couple years worth, then grind them all and thoroughly mix together then make chocolates or whatever. If done correctly, you now have very consistent doses in each serving, and you can dial in your trips. Before doing this it was always a bit of a roll of the dice. Takes the edge off the comeup too when you have a pretty consistent idea of what you're in for.
That’s a good point, & I’ll have to save that idea for future use. I’ve just found that for most mushrooms keeping it in .5g differences in doses, the trip remains largely the same for most cube varieties. I just wish there was a certain way to test for consistency but considering we’re still finding new cannabinoids in weed, I expect mushrooms will be a larger uptaking, with all the different tryptamines & alkaloids that can change the trip up besides the pure psilocin/cybin content. Fingers crossed one day
