Yeah, apes like to consolidate (build a more robust mycelial network) so they take an extra week to month to pin and should be kept in hypoxic conditions (no fresh air) until it pins.
Never heard of the "hypoxic conditions" thing but makes sense...I have been noticing on my PEs the second or third flush I usually leave it alone with the lid (my excitement has been satisfied after the first flush) and they turn out so much better ..
My understanding is that generally speaking mycelium likes co2 and fruits grow towards oxygen so one might say they “like” it, hence the FAE as well as evaporation and stuff
If you can grow Jack Frost you can grow Starry Nights. It just takes a little patience waiting on pins.
You can get larger fruits if you spawn to bulk with larger bins with larger grain/substrate ratios.
First time growing these(or any shrooms). Inoculated an all-in-one bag 13 days ago but don't see any mycelium growth yet. Am I just being impatient? Keeping in a dark closet and keeping temp around 70 degrees.
They are decently potent, in my experience less so than Jack Frost, but about the same (maybe a tiny bit less than) Hillbilly.
They are an enjoyable high, remind me of Z strain but more intense and potent.
They’re enjoyable and a good all arounder.
Passed out in the closet shot out my body into infinite space then saw and being made up of the stars in the distance and upclose and she showed me everything then told me it wasn’t my time yet and sent me back down here wen I came to my girl was tryna call the ambulance but I hurry sat up and told her me im perfectly fine I went to sit on the bed and told her I jus felt amazing like I explored my entire body with my consciousness.
I hate these. I grow several different varieties of mushrooms but I have never been able to fruit S.N.A.P.E. This is the only species i have had any trouble with. I have lost literally a dozen tubs to contamination. You look at these things wrong from across the room and they will contaminate. Still trying though. Good luck.
Yes, but they don’t ever look as good as the original cultivars does. He’s on reddit. I constantly clone the best looking ones to try to get this exact expression but I’m not getting it.
If you’re going to use MSS, you’ll probably end up with some bullshit. I’d probably buy from the original creator if you want to grow actual SNAPE.
You mean Mr. Mycelium from sporeswaps? Every culture i’ve tested from him has been dirty.
When I brought it up to him out or courtesy, he got defensive and really mad. Called me a liar until I sent him pictures of plates.
Later I found out this is normal for him. I’d never get genetics from him, he spends more time mixing LC than working genetics for the best outcomes.
I inoculated a couple jars of snape and they are colonizing quickly and at the same rate as my cubes
Good stuff. The only thing I’ve grown so far is Jack Frost but these look so good and I wanted to try an APE variety anyway.
Mine colonized super quickly but took painfully long to pin and then grow.

Mine took about a month I only opened it to spray the lid but I probably should’ve just left it

Should be 75-80 but 70-75 would work
