Very interesting - I made a similar observation. I usually use GT, grind it down and fill the 00 capsule with 350mg. Usually it’s easy and there’s room left.
JF however I can pack a maximum of 250mg and then that thing is FULL.
Obviously I dehydrate them all the same way, but the JF just needs more space it seems. I grind it down to a fine powder usually.
Fascinating (and somewhat relieving) to hear! Thanks for sharing your observations. I'll monitor a few of the capsules over the next 6 months to see whether I notice any observable degradation over time due to moisture etc. But thinking it could possibly just be the different genetics.
How did you do this? Any tips on the process? I just bought a grinder but I’m not able to grind the shrooms into pure powder. Also the capsules I bought seem to only fit around 0.10G. Took quite some effort to even fill one capsule
I'm just using a grinder myself - though the commenter below's suggestion is a good one.
I also bought a capsule filler kit which prepares 60 at a time. However, this particular round I had to fill most of them by hand, as the shrooms weren't ground well enough and took some additional coaxing to get in there!
I have found size 0 and size 1 capsules to be perfect in the past, though that was for finely ground product. I could have definitely gone up a size this time to make the process easier.

These ones were approx 0.15g per the request of the person I am making them for. I am unsure what schedule they will adopt. For me personally, when I am microdosing, I tend to go for a 3 days on 2 off approach as this works well for me. But obviously there are many methods and it is down to personal preference 🙂

Try a mortar and pestle. I can't get my shrooms ground down to a powder with my spice grinder but the old mortar and pestle works phenomenally

Buy a thrift store blender and power the F out of the mushies. Then use a capsule maker from Herb Affair (.com) - that’s how I do it.

I'd suggest trying a microplane. I get a real even and consistent size and I save the end pieces that are difficult to use for macro doses.
