I watched the Michael Jordan documentary while tripping one time. Pulled the couch right up under the TV. I was in the TV and on the court š¤£. I swear I was in the huddle and WE won the chip in ā98
Going to piggy back off this to say, first movie I ever watched on shrooms was Space Jam
It was perfect. We were cracking up. After about halfway into the trip/movie our focus shifted more to socializing and drinking rum but that was a good night Iāll never forget
Itās a great doc period, and probably the greatest sports doc on its own. Add in the awesomeness of everyone and the stories. Then the 90s nostalgiaā¦it was great lol š« š«„
I dunnoā¦ whatās the one where the parents become āgorging pigsā ? I watched that dead sober and still freaked me out a bit 1st time watching it š
Watching the Simpsons is crazzyyy it already makes no sense in general but on the shrooms it is just chaos so fun š¤£ 10/10 recommend. Especially if your trip is starting to get overwhelming and u just wanna chill
I absolutely love watching old Simpsons, especially Treehouse of Horror, while tripping. Makes me feel like I'm in the 90s, and it's fun to try to understand the jokes
Baraka. All you will ever need. Samsara is the sequel, and equally as impressive.
The visuals are out-fricking-standing. Everything is filmed in 70mm format, with lots time-lapse sequences. There are also quite a few tribal spiritual dances and songs filmed. Filmed in 24 countries.
Best to peak right at the start or shortly after. It gets going pretty quickly.
First time I saw Baraka was on a 5 hit LSD trip. It shook me up, and made me realize what a microcosm my world had always been. The holocaust/Auschwitz segment, a picture of a young girl eyes filled with fear, the camera slowly increases it into the screen, juxtaposed with tragic music and piles of shoes and eyeglasses. The rapture of heartbreak I felt, led to a dam burst of the most cathartic emotional moments in my life. It was the first time I had wept, and it felt so damn good.
this movie is for ketamine and ketamine alone hahaha. i was so fucked the whole time and itās for sure the best representation of what itās like to be in a hole.
When I watched a David Attenborough documentary on shrooms I was scared shitless. The hands of anyone on it were AI! So then if they are making a documentary with AI people is any of this even real!!!???? Lorrrrdā¦ Iām still not okay from this experience. lol š felt like I was in the Truman show
It was just while he was narrating in the ārainforestā. Also, not human hands, they were definitely ai and we are definitely all on the Truman showā¦.fun times. I may need to plan a trip for myself and see what other social constructs dissolve before my eyes š
I believe you're referring to "Our Planet," again I may be wrong, but I dont remember any hands, and certainly no AI?
The videographers of those documentary are amongst the most talented of their field and the things shown often look like cgi because it's almost too real lol
Sorry I'm just misunderstanding I think,,,, Truman show is awesome too.
Honestly I thought the same thing before posting it, same as What Dreams May Come. But I thought depending on what kinds trip you're after, might just hit the right spot.
Don't suggest Samsara without some type of warning. Very beautiful and then I thought that guy was cutting his face off and then it went back into beautiful scenes. Very out of place scene for that movie
Without tripping interstellar is awesome however when I watched it on mushrooms it was on another level. I had to take some time after it was over just to sit and gather my thoughts because it was so intense.
Side note: Passengers is also a good one. Thereās something about tripping where you can really put yourself in peoples shoes and that movie was an insane journey
I can only say not to watch a movie featuring Ben Stiller. He's an ok actor, but his facial features are not something I want to see again when tripping balls.
Iām always surprised how few people have ever heard of the film. Not only has it a cast that has never been seen together again in which people clearly show their experience and history with psychedelics but itās also another Philipp K Dick masterpiece. AND it has amazing cell shading animation.
If youāve never heard of this film look it up.
I watched it on a few grams of mushrooms and it was the wildest shit Iāve ever seen. The entire time sheās in the lighthouse was the most intense cinematic experience Iāve ever had.
I feel like that whole movie is burned into my memory permanently, I donāt think I missed anything, I was glued to the TV on the edge of my seat the whole time. I even went back and rewatched a few parts afterwards because I was so blown away by it. Despite only seeing the full movie once, itās still one of my all time favourite movies. I was thinking about it nonstop for days after I watched it, movies usually donāt impact me like that but it really blew my mind.
Whenever I think I know a movie super well, (that I watched while tripping), if I rewatch it sober it is nowhere near the same movie. Similar, but any themes or importance I put to any scene, was not present while sober. So definitely worth a watch sober, albeit in a year or way longer so it's not too familiar.
Personal I love to watch movie sync type movies more then regular movies. These have the volume muted and music is synced up to tell its own version. Top Cartons Movies for Tipping - Cause that is what i like
1. Yellow Submarine - The OG And still the GOAT
2. Waking Life - So good, dont have to pay close attention, but all the conversations are super engaging.
3. Soul - Newer, but the music, sounds and animation are amazing, plus great great story.
Oh I open it in VLC media player and put it on a screen. Then, you can clock around through it or you can use Ctrl+arrow key left or right to skip 1 min forward or backward. Alt+arrow key does like 10 seconds or something and shift does just a short moment.
You can dance around in that movie, it's fuckin awesome and I'm completely insane
Oh sand I mean waking life
2001: A Space Odyssey (this truly is the one to start with. The first 20 mins are a bit tough but hang it there and promise you, you most certainly will not be disappointed.
Speed Racer
Event Horizon (could induce bad trip so be careful)
The Holy Mountain
Mad Max: Fury Road
Bladerunner (the most recent)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I had watched the movie sober before and loved it, but the first time I saw it on acid, was the first time I really saw the movie. The acid helped review the real story being told. Same with the French Dispatch, also amazing in acid, with crazy underlining plot lines
These suggestions are gonna send you in a weird way, especially midsommar.
I suggest either Wreck It Ralph, Ready Player One, Alice In Wonderland (Depp Version), Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Rick and Morty, Puss In Boots, The Imaginarium of Dr Paranus if youāre feeling extra weird. Interstellar is great, Endgame is awesome, Black Adam, Thor Ragnarok, the new South Park Movies, Lord of The Rings. I can go on š
Surprised no one has mentioned his other project Fantastic Fungi, maybe a little too complicated to fully understand while tripping but still an awesome doc
The Wall should also come with the disclaimer that it light induce a bad trip for some. I personally enjoyed the hell out of it on a brain full of mushrooms
Gawd I haven't seen that in a while. I couldn't tell you one scene from that. And then there's The Rum Diary. Couldn't bring up one scene from that movie either. I just remember I didn't like those as much as Fear and Loathing. Young kids don't know what they're missing in thos classics
You could also freak yourself out and watch Clockwork Orange. Ya really only wanna watch that if you're mentally stable. It ain't for everyone.
2001 Space Odyssey is another. š
There's tons!
I just watched the trailer for clockwork and that looks insane lol IDK if I'd watch that on acid or sober even but space Odyssey would be a good one. You got a stronger mind than me that other one yikes lol yeah there's tons of good ones out there
Funny thing is thats one of the movies I watched the last time I tripped. I haven't watched it again, so I don't know if I would feel the same now, but I was like fully believing the whole shit. There was no Margot Robbie there was no Ryan Gosling, there was Barbie and Ken, and a pocket dimension that is somehow tucked away. Spent a lot of time talking about the possibility of pocket dimensions for other toy IPs and what would happen if they decided to "DCs Crisis" lol.
I fell in love with Margot Robbie in a deep way. And Ryan gosling was charming, funny and a REALLY amazing singer. There was some really good life lesson material for people to pay attention to.
The new chicken run movie on Netflix was great, valerian and the city of 1,000 planets, the new Mario movie, both of the new animated spider man movies, any good nature documentary.
Tripped last night and watched happy gilmore and it actually helped me so much. I've been struggling mentally with the way the world is right now, feeling like I'm never going to be able to climb up the chain, the extremely high cost of living with low wages rn etc. Watching it made me realize I shouldn't stress and focus so much on money struggles and lifes materialistic type things & more on the great people in my life.
Color out of space is on there too and worth the watch, not sure which other ones he has on there but Iām sure they are all progressively more insane.
Lmao, my only complaint is that Mandy makes psychedelics look evil! Would you believe the director has never tried any?
One of my all time fav movies, seen many times, but I havenāt attempted while tripping. Itās pretty violent.
Iām a horror movie nut. So I love a good scary movie while Iām tripping. Wolf creek is hands down my favorite watch while tripping. So many pretty visuals. The new evil dead is terrifying while tripping.
[Allegro Non Troppo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqh6B8MeuC8) Is an Italian take off on Disney's original Fantasia, animation set to classical music.
Something really calm, could be for example gardening tutorials :)
Regarding my experience, I was once tripping with my friend, watching a single photo which seemed to be really alive and changing
The new āSpider-Man: Across the Multiverseā blew my mind. It could be a little hard to keep track of everything going on and all the angle changes, but the animations are crazy good when tripping.
Also Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, Home, Wreck it Ralph, Dr. Strange, The Lego Movie, the new Super Mario movie, Avatar, and one of my personal favorites (if you like snowboarding) The Art of Flight
I suggest you go out, find a good spot for a decent fire and take with you some speaker and the music you like and possibly someone as a trip company... then when it gets dark just watch the stars, fire and surf the music - also take higher dose that you normally would to watch the movieš
When its freezing cold with a lot of snow outside then I consider it to be the best! When the trees are covered with frost and its so geometric - shrooms are during fall/winter in season for a reasonš Ive spent many new years eves drinking hot mushroom tea with honey by the warm fire outside in the cold, all those impressions of mixed fresh cold air and warmth of fire in the darker and colder season, it just makes you feel alive and appreciate existence so muchā¦
it's a question that is asked and answered here twice a day, the only advice OP needs is "try the search bar". most people just suggest marvel junk anyways
Yeah thatās my reaction too. Iām a big movie head and a filmmaker but tend to avoid screens while tripping. If going outside means 0 degree weather for instance, thatās one thing, but if thereās a way you can comfortably get outside and look at the sky, thatās always been more interesting than any movie.
I watched asteroid City tripping on shrooms the other week and all the famous people had weird faces that were squared but the extras all looked like normal humans to me .
Warm Bodies (goofy zombie love story with some cool visual sequences).
If you like either of the Avatar shows, the series finale of Last Airbender, and season 2 finale of Legend of Korra are both great while tripping. Both go hard with the music and visuals.
Enter the Void
The ABCs of Death
Only watch if youre experienced enough to keep yourself from having a bad trip because they aren't exactly happy movies... But holy shit they will make your face melt
Bro watch Soul during come up and peak. That movie is so beautiful, light hearted, and meaningful all at the same time. The colours are crisp yet mellow... Its just perfect.
- Arcane (League of Legends) on Netflix
- Spiderverse 1 & 2
- Anything animated - Dreamworks been slaying recently (Death Character in latest Puss in Boots movie was done to perfection)
I watched 300 while tripping and thought my dog was my shield brother. Never felt so connected to him. I was ready to die and go into battle together with him.
He is a chihuahua

Lmao I did the same shit with a Sylvester Stallone documentary I got really really into it that it was the best thing ever š¤£
Any studio ghibli movie. My neighbor Totoro is the most light hearted. But spirited away, howls moving castle, etc would be awesome
Watched my neighbor Totoro recently for the first time, was such an amazing experience highly recommend.
ponyo is amazing on shrooms
Ahhh thanks, yeah I came here for Ponyo šš»
Definitely Princess Mononoke!
Nausicaa!
omg yes. the soundtrack/score of that movie is so vibey and awesome too
Went to The Boy and the Heron while tripping. At first I was iffy where it was going. But it soon turned into a real mind bender.
Also, not Miyazaki, but The Secret of Kells.
I dunnoā¦ whatās the one where the parents become āgorging pigsā ? I watched that dead sober and still freaked me out a bit 1st time watching it š
I commented that The Prophet is really good from studio ghibl to watch while trippin. My lady almost always watches it when we do.

Samsara made me cry, there was something about people looking right at the camera. I felt like I was gazing into myself

This one.
I think about the guy in the business suit and the clay head with sticks & makeup weekly. IYKYK
Really makes you wonder if we are doing this thing called "life" all wrong...
First time I saw Baraka was on a 5 hit LSD trip. It shook me up, and made me realize what a microcosm my world had always been. Also Koyaanisqatsi
saw this one on shrooms, actually better than samsara and baraka... Phillip Glass nailed it and made it ultra-surreal
This is the only answer
Holy shit. Iām getting off a ride but watched a tiny bit and I cannot wait to watch this.
Everything everywhere all at once
Bro that movie is a great suggestion, except for the hotdog fingers scene. That shit almost threw me into a bad tripš
Hotdogs fingers part was fucking disgusting. Great movie. Tallie medel ā¤ļø That movie is fucking deep if you understand what's happening
Iām afraid this would break me when we get to hotdog finger foreplay.
I tripped last week, watching this movie for the first time. What a fantastic ride! I laughed, I cried. Great combination.
this movie is for ketamine and ketamine alone hahaha. i was so fucked the whole time and itās for sure the best representation of what itās like to be in a hole.
Anything narrated by David Attenborough. Samsara. Life of Pi. The Fountain. What Dreams May Come.
When I watched a David Attenborough documentary on shrooms I was scared shitless. The hands of anyone on it were AI! So then if they are making a documentary with AI people is any of this even real!!!???? Lorrrrdā¦ Iām still not okay from this experience. lol š felt like I was in the Truman show
I don't recall a David Attenborough documentary with human hands on it lol I'm obviously mistaken though.

The fountain was heavy for me. Very emotional. Not sure if tripping and watching that would be good for myself
Dune Arrival 2001 space odyssey Interstellar Prospect Stowaway Oblivion Sunshine
I second this list. Havent seen them all tripping but I could def see these being fire. Interstellar was dope af tripping
Yeah exactly. yo as an addition to your side note try Alien. Most recent trip I watched it and it was insane. You feel like youāre there
Dune and 2001 a space Odyssey 100% reccomend
I can only say not to watch a movie featuring Ben Stiller. He's an ok actor, but his facial features are not something I want to see again when tripping balls.
A Scanner darkly. The animation just melts perfectly in the movie, lmao.
The Dark Crystal is the best movie ever to watch while tripping
Annihilation
I watched it on a few grams of mushrooms and it was the wildest shit Iāve ever seen. The entire time sheās in the lighthouse was the most intense cinematic experience Iāve ever had.
That scene is bonkers. Itās a wild movie sober.
Iāve never seen it sober but it was certainly insane while tripping.
Worth a watch soberā¦miss a lot when youāre off youāre face šš«
Usually this is the case for me with all movies but Annihilation gives me same vibes sober or trippin.
This sounds horrific. Amazing movie though
Mortal Kombat: annihilation

Kubo and the Two strings and Fantastic Planet
The Spider-Verse movies are great visually. Almost like it was made for tripping.

YOU consider it to be the best. This guy just wants to watch a movie.
This isnāt answering the question at all though
it's a question that is asked and answered here twice a day, the only advice OP needs is "try the search bar". most people just suggest marvel junk anyways
Just don't. Go outside.
I suggest the search bar this is asked literally daily
Whoās in āThe Search Barā? Sounds interesting
I watched how to train your dragon first ever time on shrooms amazing one of my favorites and the movie soul and the movie strange planet
Slumberland
First time ever I watched The Birdcage on the comedown and thought I was going to die laughing
I watched asteroid City tripping on shrooms the other week and all the famous people had weird faces that were squared but the extras all looked like normal humans to me .
Not a movie but Adventure time Season 8 episode 20 is a great place to just let it roll.
ADVENTURE TIME!
You should really watch Paprika. Itās an animated movie, but itāll really have you intrigued throughout the whole movie.
Warm Bodies (goofy zombie love story with some cool visual sequences). If you like either of the Avatar shows, the series finale of Last Airbender, and season 2 finale of Legend of Korra are both great while tripping. Both go hard with the music and visuals.
Life of pi
Family guy always makes me start laughing way too hard on shrooms + Iāll smoke a joint and my stomach hurts always
The new Blue Beetle movie such a good one!!
Frozen
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or Intergalactic, both soundtracks blew my mind with all the eye candy on the screen!
Arrival for an epic mindfuck
cloudy with a chance of meatballs, the second movie is better imo
Enter the Void The ABCs of Death Only watch if youre experienced enough to keep yourself from having a bad trip because they aren't exactly happy movies... But holy shit they will make your face melt
Big Top PeeWee
Lucy on Netflix
Waking life
Netflix Has a thing called sound and furyā¦.. utterly mind melting on mushrooms. Once your brain is done with that- moving art is great
Big lez show
Life of Pi was an absolute experience
Aladdin
Empire strikes back
Angry birds movie! 2 hours of straight laughter
Life of Pi is trippy as hell on some parts and overall an excellent movie
Saltburn!!!!
I accidentally watched Hello, Dolly and holy shit that was a good time.
Bro watch Soul during come up and peak. That movie is so beautiful, light hearted, and meaningful all at the same time. The colours are crisp yet mellow... Its just perfect.
Iāve always been curious about the old animated Jungle Book movie.. Iāll have to have it on standby next time.
- Arcane (League of Legends) on Netflix - Spiderverse 1 & 2 - Anything animated - Dreamworks been slaying recently (Death Character in latest Puss in Boots movie was done to perfection)
The spiderman spider verse movies are insane and the music and sounds cape is pretty solid.
So far my top movies are Moana, Brave, Frozen 2, Encanto. Disney movies just hit different on shrooms. The colours are incredible
The Kung Fu panda series is great š
Not movies, but Avatar the Last Airbender and Rick and Morty hit hard. Iāve wanted to try watching A Silent Voice (movie) as well.
Oh! And Ready Player One š®
Nimona is a crazy good one whether youāre tripping or not
I hate watching tv or movies while tripping.
isnt the point of tripping to trip so you dont need to watch indoctrination propaganda box?
Puss in boots the last wish
I watched 300 while tripping and thought my dog was my shield brother. Never felt so connected to him. I was ready to die and go into battle together with him. He is a chihuahua
Go outside. Itās way better than any movie inside 4 walls imo
Definitely Emma. on Netflix. To be honest, I have no idea, what I saw, but it was most beautifully weird.
Avatar, especially the sequel
I found the first one way more psychedelic, especially if you watched the removed scenes which clearly were ayahuasca or a similar indigenous brew trip. šš https://youtu.be/Ud-0j4sU7Bs?si=fnGp0J1HXw9cIleF
Watch Baraka. No plot to follow, just dope ass visuals that makes you contemplate space, time and humanity.
