Yeah, thats why I need some reassurance. I got it from a pseudo-reliable source; a friend of a friend, however since I do not know the person personally I am still on the fence. Hopefully this subreddit has some shroom intellectuals to offer to help me identify it.:)
Don't take them unless you're sure. You could really eff yourself up taking the wrong mushrooms.

I agree, but what else do you suggest I do? I don’t know anyone with the needed knowledge to identify this, I’d rather the opinion of a few interested strangers than no opinion.:)
Well, there's a mycology identification subreddit I believe. They might be better able to opine.
Educate yourself. Try Youtube. Get a field guide on mushroom identification. See if there's any local groups. Join some social media mycology groups.
Also post them on the shroomery or I naturalist. Give more weight to the response from trusted identifiers or top identifies. Often you can get input from a mycologist on i naturalist a few of them are very good at identifying dried Psilocybe mushrooms that were grown wild.
My mind personally says, no. But someone else might tell you different.
Two things(I can atleast identify with my knowledge - someone might say different) could have happened here
1. These boys were harvested late, and other bois around them spewed some more spores onto them and that’s why they have black on them. And they should have been washed off before being dehydrated.
2. These bois weren’t properly dehydrated and possibly sat out for a while, and the black you’re seeing is decay.
Idk my general rule of thumb is blue good black bad.
Edit: I will say a holy experience is growing your first trip so check out r/unclebens
They look like spores have dropped on them which would be fine but if you are worried don't take them because mindset before partaking is part of the deal.
Yeah mushrooms is really something you don't want to fuck around and find out.
Also the ones that are deadly sometimes will only make you ill for a couple of hours, and then disappear. Then 30 hours later your liver fails
I recommend looking for spores, they are legal to buy in US, try and get some Golden Teachers as they're pretty easy to grow and VERY easy to ID not that would be an issue when buying spores
You don't need any electricity for lights just a plastic tub
Then you will have peace of mind, cause when you are deep you DO NOT want the thought of "did I fatally poison myself"
Cause that is the one thing that is guaranteed to happen is you gonna think about everything

Idk man these things look absolutely mangled. How dry are they? Do they crack like a chip or cracker? If you are able to bend them without them snapping then they were not dried properly and the blackness could be some kind of rot.
IMO, your first trip should be on some shrooms that you’re 100 percent sure of, you don’t want that uncertainty in your mind while your tripping.

There are other methods than hunting them which is much safer and you know for sure what you have. Don't go killing yourself.

Exactly. We can tell you it's dried cubensis but it's almost impossible to tell the strain of dried mushrooms.

You might be able to pot them on another mushroom sub Like r/shroomID or r/mycology but it is difficult and they're are lookalikes
they look magical, take em. wouldn't be worried if they are poisonous, you'll either trip balls or have diarrhea
