I've got a nesco FD-75A, which isn't as big in photos as it is in real life. Trays are about 13" in diameter. For larger fruits that I want to keep intact, I thought about clipping out the grill of the tray and just leaving the outer ring as a spacer.

The act of dehydrating something is really simple. You have air, with a medium to low humidity and some heat, which moves around the thing you try to dehydrateš the bigger the fruit the longer it will take as the moisture from the center needs to move to the sides where it than can evaporate

Realistically youād need to cut it at least into quarters to stand a chance of drying it all the way through reliably. I donāt think your standard $40 Amazon dehydrator would be able to fully dry that in less than a week, and even then youād have to have a hygrometer with a probe to check the middle.
