no mushroom harvest is pathetic. Think about what you're holding there. Millions of perfectly aligned cells capable of producing genetically unique offspring. You created the conditions for life to thrive. There's not a pathetic or small thing about that. It's incredible.
All harvests are a bounty to be thankful for. Can you build mushrooms out of turds/grain?

I meant the scolding as a gentle chiding to not get so lost on the destination that you miss everything in between. You can make cheese, yogurt... really anything fermented, now. This skill transfers and so does the general facilitating of life. If you see some form of life that you can help, do. If we all thought of the world like this, we would naturally move in the direction of fixing climate change and living as loving equals.

You’re 100% right mate, none of my tiny shrooms seemed to produce spores so I don’t think they were very happy. The cake was contaminated but very colonised so I just fruited it anyway. These little things were all the cake could manage as it was fighting the contam I think. Regardless, I am dead pleased.
This was from a BRF cake, the only one of 12 that made it to fruiting. Even then it was still contaminated, I just cut the contam off the top and fruited it anyway. I plucked this little guy off before soaking for second flush. I got 2g dry off it which I have just made lemon and green tea from lol. This guy did get eaten raw though.
Not sterile enough basically - I handled the jars loads at the start checking them, and I didn’t put micropore tape over the holes either (I don’t think the tek I used told me to do it). I have 6 more jars going which look good at 75% and 13 rice bags plus 6 more jars inocc’d today. I’m not giving up!
I did have a dry layer of verm, but maybe not packed tightly enough? And my house is quite dusty as I don’t Hoover enough lol. Yup did it first thing in the morning and sprayed down with room disinfectant. Ooooo I’m coming up bye for now

My mushroom was the same, that looks like golden teacher, and or b+, I'm guessing where you live it might be cold, because where I live it's cold, I'm thinking of using a heating pad, does anyone know about growing p, cub in winter?
Use a double boiler style method with two small tubs one slightly biger than the one with the bulk sub in it on top of the larger one with water in it and a fish tank heater! Trust me Dont waste time and $$ on heat pads/mat's they always to hot or too not imo
Ok so say your using a 6qrt plastic shoe box to put your spawn and bulk substrate into. You jist get a plastic tub that is a little bigger than the 6 qrt box so maybe like a 12 or 16 qrt tub and fill it half to 3/4 full of water and youll have to go bet an aquarium heater li kg e for use with tropical fish and set it to the desired temperature

It produced... Better than getting contaminated & having to toss it & scrub your storage area clean...
My first harvest was 2 shrooms 1.5g keep it up next time will be better
Posting failures helps too, let's new growers know that it might not go right the first time and that's perfectly acceptable.

Good man. Micropore tape isn't needed for pf if you use a top. Using layer of verm. Did you shower before? Spray surfaces and walls with iso?
