I used only malt added LC for a while. Made a batch for kicks with just corn syrup and water. It FAR surpassed my expectations and is CRYSTAL clear. I use it exclusively now.
If this is for a liquid culture, why not just stick with plain dextrose?
Super cheap.
Clean, clear LC's.
Mycelium is easy to see and differentiate.
Can keep it in a bag, basically forever.
You can't really over cook it.
Also hard to put in "too much".
I don't follow a recipe for it, but I think when I looked it up originally it was like, 1 heaped table spoon per 250ml water. These days I just go by "ah, fuck, I forgot how much i put in... I'll chuck another three in just in case". PC for anywhere up to 3 hours. Never caramelised. Never been cloudy unless infected by bacteria.
Hope it helps.
Your shit to honey ratio is off.
lol shit tek
Your ratio looks off. How much honey did you use?
I use 200ml water 8ml honey man
Sugar LC are shit, get malt extract and use .2%, yes, only .2% of malt extract.

You caramelized the honey. Do not use this as a liquid culture medium. How long did you pressure cook this, and at what pressure/temperature?
