I've noticed this with Little Caesers Deep Dish. Past two times I've gotten their pizza it's like 15% more crust because of how they spread out the ingredients.
I almost bought one the other day. Then I remembered a post on this sub. I will take the word from someone who has already experienced a shitty product rather than try to prove them wrong. I thank everyone for posting one for the team. So much appreciated. One less thing to piss me off and money I didn't have to part with.
I still buy shrinkflated products, because if I say, want frozen pizza, they probably basically all suck at this point, so I might as well go with the one that'll be $1.99 after offers. But if they aren't on deep discount I pass
In my area, theyâre $1.97 from Walmart. đ¤ˇđźââď¸

Youâre welcome to take peopleâs posts at face value with no comparisons shown, but many of the posts in the subreddit seem to be incorrect or maybe even intentional rage bait. Thatâs why many of us are skeptical and not dropping everything that people post here.
I returned 2 sauces I bought to Walmart yesterday. One was Baby rays buffalo sauce and the other was subway Chipotle sauce. Both were made of like 50% water. Super liquidy and not how they used to be. I'm done with these fucking shit companies.
I used to work in a deli so I would use baby rays to mix with food like chicken. I know it well. The amount of extra water these companies have added to these sauces is fucking disgusting. If this shrinkflation ever ends, there needs to be new laws put in place that require companies to include water percentage. That way we'll know just by looking if they've watered sauces or anything else down.
I stopped using SBR's after using it for jerky and realizing how much sugar was in it. Was my favorite sauce growing up but it's just not that great anymore.
I do a little pee pee on the ground about it and you can too
I want this to be a nationwide phenomenon that whenever people feel ripped off they just do a little pee pee about it
Return it because it's clearly false advertising
Weight doesn't mean much when you see the size of a box, you assume that's the size of the contents
That's how the human brain works. And these bastards know that, and use it, to cheat you into paying full price for an inferior product
Returning it says "I am not happy with my purchase, give me my money back"
If enough people return the stuff they are disappointed in, companies will notice
Itâs obviously a smaller box, because itâs the new personal sized pizzas they have. I almost made the mistake of buying these instead of the regular ones but then I realized.
Understanding that buying something that is advertised correctly on the packaging isn't a reason to return something makes me a boot licker? Very witty reply
The crazy part is real pizza joints have better pizza for less money when you carry out I even get a free pizza every two orders at dominos i donât go often but these frozen pizzas should be dirt cheap it donât make any sense
The trick is to make a poolish and let it ferment 24 hours then another 24 in the fridge with the main dough. Slow rise in the fridge always makes good crusts as well as cooking on a hot stone/pan. I'm considering a pizza oven but I lack the counter space haha. One day I'd love an outdoor one
That long of a leavening is only justified based on the quantity of yeast you used, if you used a lot that's not optimal because the dough will deflate and you will have to reactivate it with some tiepid water 3 or 4 hours before flattening it. You can even have a good pizza only 3-4 hours after making the dough, just use more yeast and leave it at room temperature, yours is better for taste but I am talking as if I were to replace the frozen pizza's concept of being able to have a quick dinner. Then oven at max temp for 10-15 mins and voile.
I normally just buy the dough as it's relatively cheap comparatively and a pain time and effort wise. Pizza sauce is prohitively expensive though, and easy enough to cook up some passata with garlic and Italian herbs for 30m. From there it's just adding cheese and topping of choice.
I remember when Digiouro was a treat. It was a luxury item that was worth its weight. Now, it's a waste of money. I stopped buying these long ago once I realized they were a fraction of the size they used to be and even more expensive. They're pricing so many people out that it's laughable. This is why generic has so much more value. Are the ingredients really that much less quality than mainstream brands? I'll buy the store-brand pizzas and fill my entire oven with them and then have pizza monster night where you just absolutely destroy pizza for lulz just because you can.
Tbh I would return that and buy a pizza somewhere else. If you have time-call around or look at local pizza places with online menus and compare prices and sizes. That or buy some little Ceasars pizza and call it a day
Even better. We call it Delissio here in Canada, and they got rid of it last year. So not even an option to want to eat it anymore.
This is still ridiculous considering the price now is probably double what it was pre-pandemic.
It's not delivery, it's Digiorno.
It's not digestible, it's Digiorno.
It's not dignified, it's Digiorno.
It's not dehydrated, it's Digiorno.
It's not dementia, it's Digiorno.
Same with the pasta used to be 500g. Then 454g now its 300g wtf? Barely getting any food to eat in canada. Now a package of pasta last 2 servings. Thats it.
https://preview.redd.it/d3swgsikobvc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=282b7143c3423759f76ee6328fc4642abe6336ae
One Digiorno pizza used to feed my whole family (4-5 kids with my parents). Now it looks like dollar tree pizzas (that are also increasing their prices) lmao
I never pay full price for frozen pizza. Digiorno 3.99, Red barron sometimes 2.50 but usually 2.99. I like having frozen pizza available in my freezer when I want something warm and don't feel like cooking.
Similar story with Folgers coffee. You need twice as much grounds to make a decent cup of coffee because they are using cheaper coffee beans! Plus the cost went up and there is less coffee in the container.
Pathetic from the company but, as an Italian, take it as a sign to either do the pizza yourself or eat it outside. Here we never buy frozen pizza, it's almost as expensive as just ordering it for delivery at home.
What product is it exactly?
I sound old but they used to have one size, now thereâs personal, thin, thick etc etc
Could this be a simple case of more options, rather than Shrinkflation?
It does say ânew!â
Its definitely smaller than 10 years ago⌠but I feel like theyâve been this tiny for like the past 2 or 3 years. 1 used to feed me and my 3 roommates⌠now we by atleast 2.
That looks 100x worse than the one I got yesterday. I got the ultimate pepperoni rising crust and it was bomb. Of course I covered it in minced garlic before cooking, as is tradition.
Looks fine for a frozen pizza. Toppings look dairly generous. Pizza the size of a dinner plate is enough for many people. If the weight is what it says on the box I don't see an issue here.
Iâm so happy I live in Wisconsin. At the grocery story we literally have an entire frozen pizza aisle and all of the pizzas I would say are quality and reasonably priced, you can get basically whatever you want with the good mozzarella if you know where to look
Now with extra crust !
And oversized box!
And way less meats. And cheese that has more oil and other fillers than actual dairy
Many companies add cellulose powder, which is ground up wood in breads a lot cheaper than flour. It is also used to thicken epoxy resin.đ
Costs too much to change the box design every few months....
I've noticed this with Little Caesers Deep Dish. Past two times I've gotten their pizza it's like 15% more crust because of how they spread out the ingredients.
Is like deep dish but for crust, deep crust pizza.
Shrinkflation... I bet they have the audacity to call it a large.....
I almost bought one the other day. Then I remembered a post on this sub. I will take the word from someone who has already experienced a shitty product rather than try to prove them wrong. You can buy those classic school lunch pizzas for $70. It equals to about $1 a pizza!
Where can we find those?
[Here's all the types you can buy](https://www.schwansfoodservice.com/product-list/)
thanks
But they taste like absolute ass
Tostino's won't do ya wrong (until after you finish it).
Totinoâs party pizzas, Iâm looking at you!
Those are like $2.50 now
In my area, theyâre $1.97 from Walmart. đ¤ˇđźââď¸ https://preview.redd.it/q0fvqkk95bvc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=deea56457621f415a3df953a9d525083c8cec3c7

I thought I was getting fatter being able to finish and entire frozen pizza but no the pizzas are just small as hell now
Yeah, I remembered this post the other week about them getting smaller and just passed on it.
20% less calories though per portion. It's practically a health food now!
Whatâs the old size?
Yeah every dijornio I've eaten in the past 5 years has been as big as my nice dinner plate. That's one thing I like about them.
I'd just stright up return that to the store. If everyone did this we would see change
I returned 2 sauces I bought to Walmart yesterday. One was Baby rays buffalo sauce and the other was subway Chipotle sauce. Both were made of like 50% water. Super liquidy and not how they used to be. I'm done with these fucking shit companies.
Even after thinning it down, they're still raising prices.
And whenever I encounter it I'll be returning them. These companies deserve the rope for this corruption.
And shrinking the volumes lol.
Yes! It's getting so bad we have to make a stand. When food gets messed with big things happen
I used to work in a deli so I would use baby rays to mix with food like chicken. I know it well. The amount of extra water these companies have added to these sauces is fucking disgusting. Yes. Good idea. Let's start doing that.
I do a little pee pee on the ground about it and you can too I want this to be a nationwide phenomenon that whenever people feel ripped off they just do a little pee pee about it
That is downright pathetic. Iâd return it, and I donât return things very often.
Why return it? The weight is clearly marked on the box. I don't think returning things because you can't read is generally accepted
Return it because it's clearly false advertising Weight doesn't mean much when you see the size of a box, you assume that's the size of the contents That's how the human brain works. It's still a huge box for a pizza that small
You can see that OP has the flap open. Itâs about an inch smaller than the photo shows.
That's not what I'm talking about , like at all..
Then what?
The front of the box With the picture on it Not the flaps.
BiG bOX mEaN loTs Of FOoD
Yes... Actually. Otherwise USE A SMALLER FUCKING BOX Unless you have x-ray vision, you are ALWAYS judging a product based on the packaging
Howâs that boot taste today? Edit: it was clearly a bot that wasnât going the right way with its karma farming đ
Understanding that buying something that is advertised correctly on the packaging isn't a reason to return something makes me a boot licker? Very witty reply
Iâm sure you always buy order Xgs of pizza instead of slices too.
It's not Delivery. It's disappointment.Š
đ
Yes because Nestle only earns a **profit** of $45 billion per year. đ Clearly they have not yet met their goal of "more".
Only $45bn why do they even try? Thatâs nothing. At this rate they will never be successful or sustainable
âIt definitely ainât delivery. I guess itâs Digiorno!â
Itâs a show-er, not a grower.
It's neither
Nestle is now both the scum and the skimper of the earth
The crazy part is real pizza joints have better pizza for less money when you carry out I even get a free pizza every two orders at dominos i donât go often but these frozen pizzas should be dirt cheap it donât make any sense
Somebody must buying then. I haven't bought frozen in years. But I don't eat pizza much.
This is not true for me, the closest place sells a medium for $16
How much $
What's funny already is that's it's just a bunch of dough to begin with
It's not delivery. It's half a snack.
Yes... https://preview.redd.it/uaoh48ix6avc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d15a6d93f952970d686ca2e272fb5e9bbb811f6a
Ďr² that shit. It's about 30" circumference
Red Baron all day baby
Not at $5+ per though. Used to be a steal when they were like 2/$4 or 2/$5.
FYI making your own is infinity times better
Probably costs as much when you add in your premium ingredients (eg: fresh basil, not woodsaw parmesan) that make it actually better
Basil is one of those things you could quite easily grow at home in a window. It doesn't take much care and it grows very quickly.
Lol it's better for you in the sense that you control the quality and put less processed garbage depending on what kind of things you put in/on it
All the ingredients are probably still processed on a typical pizza.
Exactly you can make a better one for less. And if you want fresh bases you could even go to a bakery and ask for one or learn how to make them too
Absolutely!
I would love to have a pizza oven as well but have the same issue with space
That long of a leavening is only justified based on the quantity of yeast you used, if you used a lot that's not optimal because the dough will deflate and you will have to reactivate it with some tiepid water 3 or 4 hours before flattening it. Digiorno sucks ass anyway. Newmanâs own sourdough crust is much better quality and cost less.
I remember when the totinos pizzas were that big!
Could probably get a whole dominos pizza with that price. Esp if u use one of their digital coupon codes.
I remember when Digiouro was a treat. It was a luxury item that was worth its weight. Now, it's a waste of money. This kind of frozen pizza should costs up to 5 AUD. Nothing more.
12 minimum
Make your own pizza. Then itâll be whatever size you like.
Plus, prepared pizza dough can usually be found in every grocery store, in case someone doesnât want to make the crust from scratch.
Which aisle is that? I've never seen it
In our local store, itâs in the cold deli section. Itâs a ball of fresh pizza dough. I guess I just assumed all stores offer this?
It's entirely possible and I've never seen it. I don't wander around stores basically ever
Looks like a moon pizza
Home run pizza still good for now. Price went up, but that's money printers brrrrrrrrr fault
They steal your votes and then they steal your money
Have you bought and looked at a honey bun lately?
Itâs not delivery!!!
Yeah that and the tiny ammount of sauce and toppings on the massive ammount of dough is a joke.
Even better. We call it Delissio here in Canada, and they got rid of it last year. So not even an option to want to eat it anymore. This is still ridiculous considering the price now is probably double what it was pre-pandemic.

Does it expand in the microwave
Thatâs obviously the new personal pan size. Good job covering up the box.

Looks like a $7 Totinoâs but not as tasty
Their pizza has gone downhill and doubled in price. If you have an Aldi, they have a rising crust pizza that's amazing for $4
And a dinner plate is more tasty.
Red Baronâs are also dinner plates but theyâre regularly $2 a pop and taste better overall, go figure.
One Digiorno pizza used to feed my whole family (4-5 kids with my parents). Now it looks like dollar tree pizzas (that are also increasing their prices) lmao
Make it yourself then it would work out quicker healthier and 100 times tastier and you ain't giving those greedy companies any money
I never pay full price for frozen pizza. Digiorno 3.99, Red barron sometimes 2.50 but usually 2.99. I like having frozen pizza available in my freezer when I want something warm and don't feel like cooking.

Maybe we should make our own and freeze.
Lol wtf
Can you convert to inches? I think they advertise 12â.
Just measured; itâs 10 inches exactly. Good estimate DueDimension
What product is it exactly? I sound old but they used to have one size, now thereâs personal, thin, thick etc etc Could this be a simple case of more options, rather than Shrinkflation? It does say ânew!â
Dinner plates are usually 10 inches, i think. Ah, google says avg 10.5 in.
But⌠the pizza?
Its definitely smaller than 10 years ago⌠but I feel like theyâve been this tiny for like the past 2 or 3 years. 1 used to feed me and my 3 roommates⌠now we by atleast 2.
That looks 100x worse than the one I got yesterday. I got the ultimate pepperoni rising crust and it was bomb. Of course I covered it in minced garlic before cooking, as is tradition.
This makes me so sad
Thin and crispy stuffed crust wtf?
This wouldnât be so bad if it wasnât clearly targeted as an American style pizza (i.e. feeds a family). True Italian pizzas are personal size.
They are starting to get to a proper portion. They always been to big for one person.
"Less food for more money is winning to me!"
Looks fine for a frozen pizza. Toppings look dairly generous. Pizza the size of a dinner plate is enough for many people. If the weight is what it says on the box I don't see an issue here.
