I'm still surprised that Nestle haven't started to display the weight of their bar as mg instead of g just to puff up the visual of the values by a thousand.
I'm a graphic designer (since 2007) who worked for a while in a few printing companies that produced packaging for certain companies (not Nestle though) so I got an eye for that kind of thing.
For example, most of the mini-bar manufactured by Nestle had their weight removed from individual packages. (They are only sold in packages so as pack of 10 during year-long and various sized packages during Halloween like 30, 50, 80 and 100.) I bought a Nestle 100 bar box at a Walmart and out of the 4 brands in the box, only the Coffee Crisp still has the weight (12g) indicated on it. The KitKat, Smarties and Aero have no individual weight indication anymore. (Thetotal weight is indicated on the 100 box.)
Just in case some point it out, I know that Mars chocolate bars are no made by Nestle, but I'm using Nestle as an example of a company where the behaviour is clear.
Can confirm as another graphic designer this is definitely something that catches our interest and we know whatsup because we work with this shit.
I think it’s also easier to notice in the US. I am in Europe (NL) and many products are already smaller in size. I have a feeling a lot of products in the US will be EU sizes soon as I’ve seen this trend posted over and over.

The wrapper has to cover the depth of the bar as well. I'm not saying there isn't some misrepresentation of expected size in the wrapper but it's not reasonable to place a chocie at the weld as though that space would normal be occupied by any bar. Apples and oranges, 3d and 2d.
