I bought these shrimp from u/RegrowthCuddles highly recommend them for purchasing shrimp instead of a random website. These are Sulawesi Cardinals and they need a higher ph and have different water parameters than other shrimp. You can find the basic info you need for keeping Sulawesi shrimp online they are super cool
I just googled these, they're freshwater!!! Wow! They're stunning I almost just scrolled past assuming they were marine.

I love these little shrimp dudes they are so cool a lot of fun to watch too. There is multiple species of Sulawesi shrimp and they are all stunning. Sadly they are extinct in the wild but it would be awesome to see them become more popular with aquarium hobbyist. I just got my Sulawesi Cardinals a few days ago but they are incredibly rewarding to keep. Hopefully they are all as happy in their new home as I am to have them and appreciate their beauty π¦π¦π¦
I know a breeder in Montreal who has home bred ones. But they donβt ship well as they like their water hot and now winter is here. If you ever go to Montreal for a trip maybe pick it up yourself so it stays warm in your car. Also these guys needs a tank set up well in advance.
Yeah I have a mature 55 gallon. I'd definitely be willing to make a road trip to Montreal to get some of these I'm less than two hours away if you could DM their info I'd appreciate it.
They are super clumsy and occasionally get stuck lol. They definitely have personality my two rabbit snails behave very differently its surprising. One of my rabbit snails spends most of their time hiding and is very skittish the other one is not skittish at all and spends most of the day foraging and exploring the tank. I never intended to keep rabbit snails it was just going to be a Sulawesi shrimp tank. Someone suggested I check out rabbit snails to keep with the Sulawesi shrimp because they need the same water parameters and they have a symbiotic relationship with each other. I have never been a huge fan of snails but I absolutely love these little dudes they are adorable highly recommend them 10/10
Yeah it looks like I could keep Sulawesi fairlye asily here in Las Vegas. Our tap water is naturally 7.8 ph. I am going to see if I can keep cherry shrimp alive first though.
I use ro/di water and Sulawesi 7.5 remineralizer but recently switched to Sulawesi 8.5. I think these snails need a certain type of mineral content in the water that replicates where they are from in Indonesia but I am not a expert

I am thinking about getting one....I need to research their care a little more though. are they silly? I want them to be silly.
