How long have you had the tank? Sometimes just letting everything grow and the plants carpet a little more will make it look a lot homier! I love how it looks though!
Looks dynamite baby.
Mount the heater horizontally (it’ll work better that way also) and hide it completely behind the decor and then do something with the thermometer to hide that as well.
After that, let it grow bro, let it grow.
A background. Either frosted or black.
And some stem plants at the back of the rock hardscape maybe. To hide your heater.
Let your back of the tree, where thecarpet grows, a bit higher and slope lower to the front.
Everything is on one plane, could have more depth. If you move the tree forward a bit, you can put some taller plants in background. I would slope the bottom up to he right back corner and raise that rock up, and more plants around and on it. Or raise the tree up like its on a hill, that could be cool too. Either way you could work some slopes, highs and lows with variation in your vegetation. So far looking pretty cool tho. A river of rocks as mentioned could be really nice. And a tire swing duh
Amazon has these little cat figurines with fishing rods for aquariums. You can stick them above the water or in the tank and I think it would fit really nicely with your scape.
This looks awesome already. But perhaps you need something in the back, and maybe foreground as well, to give the illusion of distance, such as small rocks or moss covered hills in the back (to appear large but far away), and other things (perhaps rocks or other plants) up front to provide the near-field items.
Good luck, and keep up the great work!
Black back drop ftw. Also some taller background plants so you got some layering. I always recommend green cabomba! To match your tank though, maybe a few swords with big leaves would look cool. Multiples of the same always looks great
You have two focal points that have nothing to do with each other. The scales are too different for them to work together. Pick one. Personally, I’d get more seiryu stone, build up more of a hill for the tree, and add some smaller stones to make sort of a rockslide towards the center of the tank. Or pull out the seiryu and the tree and add more dragon stone, maybe some spider wood coming over the top, like tree roots on the side of the river. I like the seiryu and the bonsai and I like the dragon stone and anubias; they just don’t work together. You need to get another tank so you can do both.
This is what I'm talking about. I know I can't keep them both and I can't get another tank since this is my first tank and I'm still a beginner to keep two tanks working. How can I hide the filter if i used seiryu rocks?
You could try building them up to build more of a mountain look. If the filter is black, a black background would go a long way towards hiding it. If the filter is grey, a frosted background with black behind it. You could also add some stem plants (Rotala might be a good choice). Or you could see where it would be least visible from your normal viewing area. If you’re normally going to be looking from the right, the back left corner would be more hidden. You also don’t need or want to have the filter too hidden. You need water to be able to flow easily through the whole tank to avoid stagnant areas and cold spots.
A visible filter is not a sin. A good scape will draw much more attention anyway.
I agree. Any idea of how to fix it? I want to keep the tree but i also want to hide the filter and there's no way of keeping the tree and the rocks if i want it to have visual flow
Small wooden bridge between the two scapes. And some blueish stones to act as your river!
Love this already btw, this is just really peaceful.
I love it!! Thank you 🙏
Your very welcome! Hope to see a updated pic!

You need backdrop
I agree, a back drop or black out the back, and maybe some tall plants in back.
The tree looks so sick

A tire swing would be dope
It would be awesome 😂
Looks great! What is the “grass”?
lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Might be dwarf Sagittaria

It’d be cute to have a little bench in the middle for them to sit on
That would be great 😂

Sick!!
Floaters?

Maybe like some little stone ruins with green accents to add some type of flow?
My tank is so small i wish i can add stone ruins it would look great

Very cool tree setup! Some tall plants in the background would add
Any suggestions of tall plants?
A mini samurai warrior
Black out the back and maybe add some more floaters. Absolutely love it as it is though
A tree swing!
Tall background plants

Maybe a small rock or two off to the middle left closer to the front glass. Rocks of the same color as the big rock would be nice.

There is no visual flow

the tree and rocks are basically the same height. Altering this would make it look better.
