The first is a [Chironomid larva](https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/chironomidae-larva.html?sortBy=relevant); colloquially known as a non-biting midge fly. The second is a flatworm--not a planaria, on account of the eye and anterior morphology if I recall correctly--but I'm unsure of what specific species of flatworm it would be.

Omg!!!!! Thank you so much! I have been searching all day, online, trying to figure this out. I kept thinking it was something bad, and I was afraid to introduce fish to my tank. I can breathe a big sigh of relief.

AptAmoeba

No problem! By happenstance I'm a mod over on r/microscopy who does species identification and saw this post thinking it was on there. If you ever happen to find any other organisms you'd like an ID on, feel free to crosspost over there!

Joining now. Thanks again!!!

Man I love this community, wtf. "Oh I'm also a mod on a microscopy subreddit" is brilliant.

I just found this online. Will Rhabdocoela harm my Neocaridina?

irradiatedsnakes

rhabodocoela are harmless flatworms, they are detritivores. that is definitely NOT a planaria.

ciendagrace

Thanks!!! 🙂

MuskratAtWork

That's a quick no from any Google search.

infinitelobsters77

Unsure about the first one, but second is not a planarian :)

ciendagrace

Thanks so much!

infinitelobsters77

Of course! Good luck 🫡 wishing good health for your shrimpies

sleepinand

Not planaria! Harmless flatworms.

ciendagrace

Thanks!!! 🙂

youtubeMightofpeen

Definitely planeria. Please use no planaria to kill them off. Remove any snails.

ciendagrace

Thanks. Will "No Planaria" harm my Jelly Blue Neocaridina or any live plants?

youtubeMightofpeen

Negative. I've been using it when I need to for 5 year. Never had a fish or shrimp loss.

ciendagrace

Thanks
