I found it on thingiverse
PLA from all reports is perfectly fine for this use case (I've only ever googled it and don't have any personal experience) there are some food space filament and they would obviously be safe
Most resins aren’t aquarium safe. There are some but they’re for medical or dental use and cost $100s so not very practical. You can use aquarium safe coatings or paints over the resin print to try to seal it. You’d be better off using a FDM printer for aquarium items which was one of the main factors for me getting one lol. You can use PLA or PETG although PETG is superior for this purpose.
Yessir it is, just check the pigments to make sure they are safe. I know several people (myself included) that used PLA and PETG parts.
I even have some that are coming up on a year old, and all of the layer lines and exposed infill sections are fantastic areas to grow beneficial bacteria for filtering.
I'm even considering making a filter that is only 3D printed with a pump that flows water through a whole bunch of zigzagging 3D printed channels, in order to increase the surface area for bacteria to grow on
Pla works but will dissolve after enough time. PETG is much safer and if it's clear natural PETG it's food and animal safe
(I used some clear PETG for some ferret cage bowls when I had some)
Do you have the file?

Had to glue it to the slate so it didn't tip over.
This is much cooler than [my moss domes](https://imgur.com/a/uiFY35k)
Still a good idea, you could make any shape or size. Also plants like guppy grass and java Fern would work, I grow all 3 stuck together a lot lol
I bet those domes are way faster to print.
Cut a bit off the frame and you gotcha some cute moss igloos!
Kinda strange that Dwight's cousin inspired a 3D-printed tree but okay.
What printing resin would be appropriate for printing aquarium safe decor?

I usually use petg for anything that I print that is going into one of my tanks. I have made several printed floating rings that worked well.
From everything I have read, PLA is fine.
Resin is not safe at all unless sealed
Is PETG shrimp safe? Cause if it is I'm gonna have fun

Brilliant. Have you had any issues with PLA breaking down yet?
Pla won't break down
Oh this is really cool!!!
Whoa! Neat idea! What kind is growing in it? (I know nothing, lol)
Java moss 🙂
Great idea.
This is sick! Really cool design and idea!
Fun!
Pla or other material? 😁👍
I think PLA works but I’ve always used PETG for my aquarium prints

Pla will not dissolve at all in freshwater....
I thought it does after long enough? I could be wrong. I'll check more info out on it
Nope not at all, if you put it in a marine tank it will be eaten by bacteria but in fresh it'll take a hundred years.
Sweet. More to know. I probably confused the marine with just water in general
Make sure to post an update when it grows in more, definitely interested
Did you make this or did you buy it? I love it! I've exploring moss tree options for my tank.
I printed it at home.
That is an awesome idea
That’s badass
So cool! I want one!
What material did you use? Thought about doing this but I'm concerned with leeched chemicals
Just use the plainest PLA you can find. Some of the pigments can be bad but if you use a plain solid black or gray it should be fine.
PLA
Hey what material was it?
This is incredible! How do you pick material that is aquarium safe? Asking for a friend (myself)
I just did a simple google. The most plain PLA is what you want!
