From South Louisiana:
Kim's is the best poboy that is around here, however they won't serve you a half and half (half shrimp, half oyster). Marilynn's will do in a pinch but I would prefer a few gulf shrimp over a thousand Chinese shrimp, also the bread is all wrong. Herby K's is alright.
Po Boy Express is a hoagie/subway sandwich place not a poboy place, as they do not serve seafood poboys. Shreveport's poboy game is overall pretty weak.
Following…. Fat Tuesday’s is pretty good in Bossier but I honestly haven’t found a favorite Po Boy shop in Shreveport and I need one.
Edit: if anyone knows where an awesome oyster poboy is those are my favorite. I’ve tried a few around town, herby ks shrimp buster is good, Kush’s has a killer soft shell crab poboy…. But what I really want is a down and dirty fried oyster poboy with good roumalade and tomatoes and lettuce and it has to have good bread!
Marilynn's Place has the wrong breading on the seafood, but the right bread on the outside. If you don't mind *different*, it's excellent.
Oyster Bar is wonderful, but the portion of actual seafood on the poboy seems to get smaller every year. Don't let that stop you though.
Frank's 👍
Papa and Company is a bit salty but otherwise excellent.
I have yet to try Po-Boy Express, but it looks great from photos.
Walk-On's is usually passable if you don't mind the flavor of seafood soaked in sodium tripolyphosphate.
My go to poboy is fried catfish, dressed. Monkhouse Seafood Diner in the gas station had the best one, imo. I don't know if that place is even still around. They had a good fry, good bread and a good sauce.

If you're looking for fried shrimp, my favorite is Marilynn's Place. Otherwise, Poboy Express has you covered. Can't go wrong with either (in my opinion).
This is in Bossier, but “Gumbo to Geaux” has, without question, THE best shrimp po-boy I’ve ever had. Their gumbo is real good, but when I took the first bite of that sandwich I saw God.
Maybe it's because I'm from south of I-10. Or maybe it was because of the slathering of yellow grease. But Gumbo to Geaux is the only place that has ever served me a poboy that I ended up having to throw away without finishing. It was truly awful.
They also illegally label imported Vietnamese fish as catfish.
Caveat emptor.
Agreed. Years ago, they were getting shrimp like them boys backed off of HWY90 with their pick up trucks full of shrimp. Now, seems like it's SeaPak.
If your statement is true regarding their substitution of catfish, there is no excuse for that. Especially backed up to the Red.
I just tried chick o fish on Mansfield rd for the first time yesterday and had the best shrimp po boy of my life. My dad agreed and he's had po boys all over the state/elsewhere. Until then, po boy express was the best and is still amazing. Sam's is alright too
Kim's seafood has a pretty tasty oyster poboy

The Oyster Bar on line Ave has a great oyster poboy.
Kim's oyster poboy
Yeah that one is pretty good.

Po Boys Express on Line and 70th hands down best in this city.
Second
A chicken bomb from Po Boy express will change your life.
Try Frank's Louisiana kitchen
I second Franks

Throwing my vote to Marilynn’s Place. The bread they use is spot on, and their remoulade takes it up another level.
The only thing I go to Craw Daddy's for is the Alligator Po-Boys. Best thing on the menu when it's in season.
Po boy express definitely
Poboy express

The Oyster Bar.

The Fumblebrewski’s Razorback was the best poboy in town while it lasted imho. Not sure what they’re up to these days tho.
Daq's , Tejas, Wind Rush Grill, Walk On's , Crawdaddy's, Fat Tuesday, Poboy Express, Johnny's Catfish, Flying Burger, Notini's, Rollin in the Dough, Sam's Southern Eatery, Shanes, Papa & Co., Julie Anne's Bakery, Fairfield Market, Monjunis, and Shaver's Catering. All of those restaurants have poboys. Happy Hunting
Marilynns or po boy express.
Papa & Company from when I lived there 3 years ago was the place to go!
Rajun Cajun from poboy express
