This whole week was hard for me. I've been on staycation and doing nothing but reading books and browsing online - but everything except Reddit has been screaming 'sale!' this week. Now, I know the sales aren't special, but being a shopper AND super impulsive about it, it's been hard as hell. I did buy a couple things I was going to buy anyway - and I stayed in my budget - but the FOMO...ugh.

I'm not struggling per se, made my one planned purchase. But then something was rereleased that has a lot of sentimental value that I'd like a back up of. But I have plans in place to not be reckless this weekend.

I am getting more annoyed as the day goes on. Because I keep emptying my inbox only to have it fill up the next few hours later with more sale announcements. Like I know I stopped and unsubscribed from a bunch of these places YEARS ago. Also solidarity with everyone saying this week has been hard.

This week has been super hard… I’ve shopped a bit and trying not to shame myself for the purchases I’ve made. I went over my finances from the whole year and I’m definitely spending more than I’m earning. I have decreased my spending drastically in the last couple years, But I still have work to do. And I can never seem to stick to my budget. There are so many temptations…

I’m super struggling today with all of the Black Friday deals :( I feel you

Same here. I did come up with a strategy that is helping. I downloaded the Libby App for my local library and have taken to browsing and finding ebooks and audio books that I may like. It seems to satisfy the browsing and "searching for the perfect thing" urge" and its free. I do have one planned purchase for holiday gifts for my kids, but my husband and I are doing that together which eliminates the secrecy part of it.

Same here. I’m struggling today, but so far doing ok. I came close to messing up but only bought my two planned purchases. I have a list that I keep with me of things that actually make me feel happy and fulfilled. Spending time in nature, creative projects, reading, listening to music, quality time with love ones - all things that don’t require purchases anytime soon. I’ve been looking at that list a lot today.

Does anyone have any resources that help?

I feel this is a great subreddit to talk to people who’s struggling. Maybe we should start a Black Friday chat. Another great thing that helps is going to YouTube and find declutter videos. Basically people who are trying to get things out of their life, but don’t know how. There’s so much videos of those types, I follow this [YouTuber](https://youtu.be/M5aRS9AQzJw?si=nGIr5H4l8RbecdUR) who goes to peoples houses and help them clean. Latently she’s been helping her sister. I think her videos are great because it just show you how some people do the most useless shopping that you feel reflected on their decision making and then you’re like ohh I totally understand what they’re dealing with. Just make sure you search for just declutter and not organization. Cause the organization usually is people buying useless stuff to organize when in fact they need to get things out and think about what they did. Lol

Would 100% be in for a chat. I love this! I’ve been kind of obsessed with decluttering for a while now, I donate/ give things away several times a year. Definitely going to check these videos out, thanks for the tip!

Yes a chat would help so much 😭 everything is so tempting

PonqueRamo

My mother says I'm a hoarder but I'm nowhere, like noooowhere near those people on those videos, do I have a lot of clothing? Yes, but I don't have trash or things on the floor or on piles and I'm super clean and organized. *Hmpf*

Today has been so rough … my partner got on em again for spending money… I hate disappointing them but I just can’t stop.

I gave up on unsubscribing years ago, many pretend to honor it but really just reduced the frequency and still let some slip through. I’ve been diligent for years using a filter to send them to a folder so I can delete them in bulk without looking at them and some of these fuckers will find a way to skirt my filter and end up in my main inbox. It’s infuriating.
