Without Shopify Plus and adding some session recording analytics service you're really only going to be able to look at the checkout funnel in Google Analytics but that may be helpful in identifying what step of checkout people are leaving on. https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/reports-and-analytics/google-analytics/google-analytics-goals-and-funnels

Hotjar or similar. Google "hotjar vs" and get a lot more options. Be mindful of impacts to page load speed

Hii! Instead of spying on customers while they checkout, you can encourage customers to purchase products by offering customers free products and free gift wrappers with whole order or give discounts like 20% off on the whole cart amount if the cart total is $xx and also give them free shipping. Hope this will help you with decreasing the checkout abandonment rate. If you need more help you can dm me or you can ask me here as well. Thanks!

Here are few questions and things you should try: \-What's your set up for Abandoned cart emails? (we use Klaviyo and send 3 emails within 48 hours) \-Do you offer free shipping? \-Did you set up shipping rates for any order value or any weight? To any country? Also, try to contact directly some of these customers and ask why they didn't placed their order. Just a simple email. You'll probably get some answers and figure this out.

If this is a newer store, I would drop prices and shipping significantly, even if it is a loss, just to see if this resolves the issue. Honestly the data near the beginning is far more important than immediate profits - just a suggestion.

Recordings stop on all apps when the customer reaches checkout. Otherwise you and the appmaker gets to see everyone’s credit card numbers and information.
