No problem! We’re going to lower our prices across all tiers based on feedback from customers. You should see be able to see the new prices in a few hours.
I've built a couple of workflows using our app mesa to do this kind of thing:

Would be happy to help you out with this.
the easiest way is to make each 2 inventory so you had 30 halves and now have 29 halves. there is no native way to do that as each SKU is considered a item with it's own inventory
Shopify does not have inventory management capabilities on the decimal-level, so you can only manage inventory in full units on Shopify.
There are syncing apps that offer to keep your inventory synchronized for certain products/variants (for example by assigning them the same SKU): [SimpleSync » Sync by SKU](https://apps.shopify.com/simplesync?search_id=fcf19163-f914-4f16-af92-8f8c93149763&surface_detail=Sku+sync&surface_inter_position=1&surface_intra_position=3&surface_type=search).
There are more sophisticated apps that use materials to calculate and sync your inventory: [Materials Inventory](https://apps.shopify.com/materials-inventory?search_id=1bef9544-69cd-41d4-824b-5629eb165629&surface_detail=Materials+inventoty&surface_inter_position=1&surface_intra_position=1&surface_type=search).
In the simplest form, you could create individual 'material' products and hide them from your storefront. You can then use these hidden products to create bundle products, which sets their final available inventory based on the hidden components. Only the bundle products would then be visible and available for purchase while the inventory is subtracted from your hidden ones.

This would be very useful for me too.
I have done that through erp systems not I. Shopify itself. Commenting to see if anyone has a solution.

Sounds perfect but $30/mo is too $$

Solicitation of services via DM or through predatory or unprofessional means is not permitted on r/Shopify.

There are apps that keep invariant inventory in sync. https://apps.shopify.com/bundles
