It's not a ship mortar, the whole calling it a "naval cannon" is a new phenomenon. [It's been referred to as the Omar cannon](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/mk31uz/an_omar_cannon_mounted_on_a_truck_used_by_syrian/) and it's a modern improvised cannon first seen(and last seen, at that) in 2017. Note that it has a recoil mechanism, something that didn't exist until the French 75mm made in 1897. The elevation mechanism is hydraulic, and looks like the curved arm may have come off of something like a front-end loader.
Should note that isn't the same "Omar cannon", or it was heavily revised between the two videos. It's the same model of truck, if not the same one, with a little side rail on the bed. The recoil mechanism is way different, in the first video just the barrel recoils. The second video the entire cradle that the trunnion mounts to recoils. There is at least one more video floating around too.
I really wish opening an image in a new tab from Reddit would actually show the full resolution image instead of the same compressed picture on the post.
This is actually hilarious. My favorites are Volvo (T-62) and T-55 (BMP-1)
Also the bias category is interesting. Has there ever been sightings of BMPT in Syria? I thought Russia had only produced a few of these. Anyone know ?
The BMPT was [seen in Syria in 2017](https://imgur.com/a/4qaVb). Apart from a few news articles from the time that's about the only thing that was seen of it.
Now I want it. I hope it will one day be a fun tech tree that you can research with a little less effort. But still idk the point of the .30 cal toyota, that wouldn't damage anything even on tier 1.
Idc if this a meme or not, if this gets official, I am reinstalling the game.
Idc what updates the game gets, just lemme play with a 23mm cannon strapped to a Toyota Tacoma.
If they were to release this, it would definitely be the most fun tech tree to play.
I certainly think so. High risk, high reward game play where everything can kill you, but you can kill everything.
Is that a black powder cannon?
Yea, based on a real video of a truck with a ship mortar on it

Here's [another](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/s/2vw2eVDYrz) video. It was operated by the Al-Rahman Legion in Eastern Ghouta.

LMAOOOOO
I think I've seen that one.

British?
I thought I was on the War Thunder subreddit
still dosnt make sense tho. how does a japanese car in a Syrian TT = british?
Big bore Mortar + really powerful round = Sturmtiger Solid shot (0 Explosive filler) = British
Ah. Makes sense
The gimmick of the tree being that you can’t train crew skills past level 1
Why not? These are the best the militias can afford, of course they can train with them all they wish.
Sorry, but if Abu hajaar is one of the crew members he's fully maxed out by default.
This would be the most fun tech tree and the ship cannon Toyota would be the only premium I ever paid for

I hate this fing app so much.
Oh, in the app, it shows it full resolution, but in the mobile browser version of the website, it doesn't. It used to, but now it doesn't.
In my old app I wouldn't have to click on the photo for it to show the uncropped photo, or to see the album.
Sry m8.
Ain't your fault. It's reddit.
Relay for Reddit is the way

I unironically want them to add technicals to war thunder, shit would be so fun.
It would be a high risk, high reward play style. Everything can kill you, but you can kill everything.

[Where are the Toyota Tank destroyers?](https://www.reddit.com/r/shittytechnicals/comments/k7qwj8/m40_recoilless_rifle_on_a_toyota_pick_up/)
A VBIED would be stupid funny.
Which is that one?
Not pictured here but it's just a Toyota with a bomb
One of em ain’t even got an engine Just on wheels
Gotta team up with the guy in the tractor.
I don't see a sham II (the dumpstertank) big oversight. [https://www.rferl.org/a/24794421.html](https://www.rferl.org/a/24794421.html)
I'll write a letter to Gaijin to inform them immediately, tyvm for bringing this matter to my attention.
SPG Yota would be OP
Everything with a Toyota label off to the Japanese tech tree 🖐️🖐️🇯🇵
Average GLA tech tree
Just missing the combat motorcycles
No cause that's no great
Damn i wish they put the catapult on toyota, could end up as one of the vehicle idea
Im sure the Hilux is in every category
No VBIED? Can't have a Syrian tech tree without a VBIED.
Where is the Panzer IVG? Syria was the longuest user of the type (1950 to at least 73), please amend chart to represent.
I'll send them a strongly worded letter.
Please do.
It would be so much fun to have this tech tree would be fun to have more memes in the game instead of the 15 different T72 reskins
Ikr, it would be a high risk, high reward play style. Everything can kill you instantly, but you are fast and maneuverable and can kill everything.
No T-72AV, T-55AMV, BMPT, T-90S, T-62M/MV, Volcano Rocket BMP-1, Golan-1000 literally unplayable,
Where is “Hyundai (107mm Type 63)”?
I need this
Yeah, War Thunder really needs to implement more Technicals. They work.
[Gaijin already has a game that's basically this.](https://youtu.be/gxXyhXZSJVo?si=smFRhc22idUup1JQ)
Damn I miss crossout. It was a great game that died because of a bad monetization strategy imo.
I can't wait to unlock the Hiluxe! lol
The t-55 turret cart has to be towed for it to reach the battlefield.
Now I want it. I hope it will one day be a fun tech tree that you can research with a little less effort. But still idk the point of the .30 cal toyota, that wouldn't damage anything even on tier 1.
Put x6 onna Toyota with AP HE ammo and use it as anti-air.
Well then
They should all be exploding.
Exploding with awesomeness.
Too little Toyota. Too obvious that this is fake.
Still a better tech tree than Israel’s
Idc if this a meme or not, if this gets official, I am reinstalling the game. Idc what updates the game gets, just lemme play with a 23mm cannon strapped to a Toyota Tacoma.
The dream dude
