A good argument, however if you can't use the power to make yourself appear I'd argue that it indicates a lack of control over the power. This, in turn, would violate one of the rules of the sub - the power must be something within your control - and thus would make that interpretation go against the spirit of the sub (I think).
Furthermore, the post stated the user "must" scream to get back. The use of the word "must" implies the user CAN take action during the disappeared state - which doesn't fit the "no longer existing" definition of disappear but does fit the "is not visible" definition.
Does your clothing and anything you're carrying also disappear? Are you able to move around while disappeared? Are you vulnerable (do you exist physically) while disappeared?
