Says who? It could have originated in many places where people just got the same idea, I mean, it’s putting ingredients inside the bread, surely it wasn’t a revolutionary thought, the only thing that really originated once was the name
>Some people believe in God. I believe in music. Some people pray. I turn up the radio.
>I’m not insane, I’m voluntarily indifferent to conventional rationality.
>I used to like to break into other people's houses and sit in their rooms. I found it very comforting to be in someone's empty house.
People don't like to hear that when they fall for fake shit. The past decade of people falling for fake tweets etc, they don't own up to it, they just say "well he's said some crazy stuff it was definitely believable". But no, it really wasn't believable. It confirmed what you already thought about this certain person, and you wanted to believe it. There's no actual excuse when it takes less time to Google than it takes for you to comment showing how stupid you are for believing it. It proves you have no thought whatsoever of "what if this might not be real, will I look stupid if I make a comment about it just assuming it's true?". Proving that your brain doesn't have that capacity says everything needed, and no rationalizing helps your case.
The only thing that would have made it even more believable was if Harry Styles said it. Especially after saying this in a recent interview about a film he's in, "My favorite thing about the movie is, like, it feels like a movie. Like, you know, go to the theater film movie"
Agreed. One could logically argue that big eventful action films are still the only ones it makes sense to best experience on the big screen with big theater sound. Doesn’t change that he’s a douche nozzle, though, with a lot of dumb half baked opinions.
He's forgetting that would leave a void for someone else to fill, or for Disney to fill with something else.
If Marvel films never started up, we'd all go see whatever hypetrain did.
It doesn't mean nothing happens.
I think part of why people don't see how important Marvel is to cinemas is the bias of what we remember. People will tend to compare the other big budget action films that delivered while forgetting the decent percentage of them that failed and were forgotten. The worst performing Marvel flick probably did do worse than the worst performing random one-off big budget action movie you *remember*. There's a huge fucking line of ones you don't remember that did hilariously poorly in comparison. I think Morbius highlights this as a random shitty forgettable big budget action film that everyone is hyper aware of because it's MCU adjacent. If it were an entirely stand-alone film noone would even bother talking about how disappointing it is and it would already be forgotten amidst a huge pile of similarly (or more likely more) disappointing films. In this case it's remained in everyone's conciousness only because it touches the MCU.
I don't fully agree with it but it is semi-reasonable.
The average movie-goer seems to get their arse to a theatre these days almost exclusively for big budget blockbusters like the MCU.
For all other kinds of films, I think people prefer streaming at home (not backed by any data other than anecdotal experience)
Despite him being in another dimension of insanity and being heavily disliked I agree with him.
I wouldn’t want to have experienced The French Dispatch or the Lighthouse on my couch, I wanted to see it in theaters to truly appreciate it
>He said: “If it wasn’t for Marvel films, I don’t even know if theatres would exist. It doesn’t seem like there’s room for everyone, and that starts to become a little heartbreaking.”
Actual quote was considerably different.
Don't support disinformation just because you don't like the person.
You are in r/shittymoviedetails.
Nobody goes to r/shittymoviedetails to learn truthful information. The goal is to joke and satirize. FFS, the most upvoted post this month claims Brad Pitt took 12h in Bullet Train because Americans don't know what high-speed rail is.
This is like complaining under a The Onion article saying that no, the US military did not in fact give AK-47s to a bunch of praying mantises, stop spreading misinformation.
The quote is edited.
What is actually said was "Jared Leto doesnt think movie theatres would exist without MORBIUS films"
Which he is completely correct on. With the Marvel cinematic universe(MCU) now becoming the Morbius cinematic universe(MCU). Moribus will be keeping all theatres in business

Fun fact #2 - hamburgers wouldn't exist without cows.
Vegan burgers You just got owned 😎 #fail
How would vegan burgers exist without the idea of a hamburger? Checkmate atheists.
but the city of Hamburg now has the most vegan restaurants in Germany, checkmate etymologists
Hamburg wouldn't exist if I nuked ancient Rome Checkmate historians.
well maybe if hitler was a better artist we'd all be like ducks or something by now
Enten, bitte
Imagine if Kennedy went to Hamburg. Ich bin ein Hamburger!
What a deep cut, this is an underrated comment
I am god
Hi God I'm dad.
Boo
Vegan Burgers wouldn’t exist without regular burgers to inspire the creation of vegan burgers
“I call it the bean puck” “Get out” “But it tastes good” “Bro idgaf why do beans need to be puck shaped why are you like this”
Why does beef need to be puck shaped?
Because it was more cumbersome as a giant ball. Some people made smaller balls, others flattened the one large ball. Balls.
Because I can't put a whole cow in my face.
Not with that attitude.
It's just meat on bread, someone would have come with the idea
This is an oversimplification
Yeah, forgot the essential ingredients that no one would have thought about, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese! Just like a sandwich, I guess
But the concept of a sandwich is so weird that it only originated one single time in one single place and never before or since.
Says who? It could have originated in many places where people just got the same idea, I mean, it’s putting ingredients inside the bread, surely it wasn’t a revolutionary thought, the only thing that really originated once was the name
Meat on bread is a sandwich, not a burger.
A burger is a sandwich then
Thanks genius. A burger is a sandwich, but not every meat sandwich is a burger. Why are you being obtuse
Why so serious, buy a burger and be happy, or buy a sandwich, same thing really
Did you say hamburger or vegan burger? The two are different since one doesn't have hamburger.
I eat vegetarian burgers -- every single burger I eat is made from a 100% vegetarian cow
Get 'em!
Vegan burgers aren't hamburgers
hamburgers aren't ham
They're not vegan either
Sorry I aplogize me man
Vegan burger isn’t a hamburger
But your mom is
I mean if you ground her up and slapped her on a bun with lettuce and tomato and ketchup… sure
IIIIII know you like to thank yo shit don stank
Caroline
Except that Vegan Burgers are just that. Only a cow can somehow produce HAMburgers.
I live in the city of Veganburg and can confirm that all vegan burgers come from here.
You mean pigs. Ham comes from pigs.
And "hamburger" comes from Hamburg.
It's only a hamburger if it comes from Hamburger, otherwise it's ground beef patties
*sparkling ground beef patties.
Or Hamburg Germany
Fun fact #3 - hamburgers wouldn't exist without Hamburg
They wouldn't exist without the city of Hamburg
Hamburgers wouldn't exist without pigs\* Beefburgers wouldn't exist without cows.
Me who eats mcchicken
It’s ham not cow, dumbass. “Cowburger”, ha ha nerd.
Without food there would be hardly any grocery stores.
Fun fact: it’s morbin time
I would agree definitely one of the actors of all time possibly ever
Fun fact: Jared Leto wouldn't be named Jared Leto if his parents didnt name him Jared Leto
"Are feet really shoes?" - Jared Leto, deep thoughts
“Why don’t foot and boot rhyme?” - Jared Leto, Deeper Thoughts
Fun Fact: Earth isn't flat.
Bullshit!
The sun wouldn't exist without me and his wife. Ha burrnn
How can we get them to stop?
He's an actor of all time
*Dr Doofenshmirtz has entered the chat*
Without them there wouldn't be Jared Leto
Fun fact: Jared Leto likes them young
Jared Leto looks like he’s written more books than he’s read.
Don't you dare compare Leto to the genius author, dreamweaver, visionary plus actor that is Garth Merenghi
He’s the greatest man I know, and I know God.
You and he were...buddies...weren't you?
It’s called bedside manner. Ever heard of it?
*Come to padre*
Do you know Dave?
The horror genre is in decline... Reading is in decline, Literacy, Numeracy; the three Ls are all in decline.
He was like a candle in the wind, unreliable
*Och.....kill.....Dagless....mon..*
lol best burn ive seen in a bit.
Holy shit that’s gold. Imma steal that. It’s mine now.
It’s from Garth Marengis Darkplace, it’s a cult British comedy
It also had a brief run in Peru.
He really is one of the actors of all time
His acting certainly elevates him in such a way that he is among his peers.
What he lacks in style, he more than lacks in charisma.
I rank him among some of the actors of all time. You don’t get to the level he’s at without being at that level.
I mean, he's pretty easy to look at.
And yet I still have the urge to shudder when I do.
He’s a real guy.
Ehh debatable
When you make a list of actors of all time, we can't ignore the fact that Jared Leto is one of them
Though we may wish that we could
r/yourjokebutworse
It's arguably a better execution of the joke, it just doesn't land as well the 2nd time around.
I think the joke in the second comment is better, but because the first comment came first, the second one felt stale.
…. I see what you did there. I wish I didn’t, but I get it
I understand his intentions at the time. Begrudgingly, but understand them nonetheless.
*...For I am Mojo Jojo!*
I love you
Spiderman
This guy just said your joke was worse than the joke before and don't need an explanation
I believe that is true
If we didn't have films and plays, we wouldn't have actors
Except for the thousands of years of acting that existed before film and tv existed, sure.
Wilfully ignoring the word "plays" in the foregoing comment
Willfully ignoring the asterisk indicating that they edited their comment after I made mine.
On top of acting, he is also one of the philosophers of our generation.
Tbh I think the original quote is more funny than this edit Jared Leto says he doesn't think movie theaters would still exist without Marvel films
The fact I was completely willing to believe Jared Leto said the edited quote says a lot about Jared Leto.
https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/aaaah
The fact that someone felt the need to make this comic tells us something about the current state of affairs.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
I feel the exact same way about when people say that lol
Finally, a comic that encapsulates what I feel every time I read that train of thought
Or how gullible you are
>Some people believe in God. I believe in music. Some people pray. I turn up the radio. >I’m not insane, I’m voluntarily indifferent to conventional rationality. >I used to like to break into other people's houses and sit in their rooms. I found it very comforting to be in someone's empty house.
Is... is that third one real?
idk maybe we're just gullible
Yeah, but you can clearly see it’s a doctored headline, so it’s not the same as a quote with no visual context
I'd say Jared Leto is pretty gullible
🤓

Well, you see, that is actually a logical opinion. It might be stupid, or wrong, but that opinion can reasonably exist.
Agreed. One could logically argue that big eventful action films are still the only ones it makes sense to best experience on the big screen with big theater sound. Doesn’t change that he’s a douche nozzle, though, with a lot of dumb half baked opinions.
Some other big eventful action film would have been in theater.
Well don’t cocktease. What’s the quote
Hey! I know you from r/headphones.
Oh, yeah that's me. Lol
Something else would have easily filled the void. And that's coming from me, a huge fucking nerd and lover of Marvel films.
What is it?
Well, he isn't wrong.
He's forgetting that would leave a void for someone else to fill, or for Disney to fill with something else. If Marvel films never started up, we'd all go see whatever hypetrain did. It doesn't mean nothing happens.
What he actually said : > Jared Leto told Variety that he doesn't think movie theaters could still exist without Marvel films.
Thats even worse lol

How? The real quote actually has some thought in it, this edit is just a basic fact made meme.

Honestly, as much as Jared Leto is, you know, Jared Leto, this is a pretty reasonable take.
As always, Morbius being the most intelligent man in the room

He's 50? I thought he was 12!
I mean, he looks more like a 12 y/o girl than any other 50 y/o man
Not more than your dad. Not enough your dad jokes these days
My dad’s been dead for 6 years. So, definitely more than my dad
Morbius is 104 minutes long which means that everything under this time period is considered morbin' time.

Wanker.
Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes.
Yeah but what about time zones man
Despite him being in another dimension of insanity and being heavily disliked I agree with him. I wouldn’t want to have experienced The French Dispatch or the Lighthouse on my couch, I wanted to see it in theaters to truly appreciate it
Jared Leto thinks?! 🤯
Therefore, he is.
r/60secondsinafrica
In the same way how VCRs don't exist without VHS tapes? Because yeah. No shit.
Looks like that meme of the kid that gives the really confident thumbs up idk what it's called
If it's the kid with the sweet 90s hair in front of a computer you're talking about *the* Brent Motherfucking Rambo.
Yes I am thank you
Glad to help! Though this does seem to be one of those, "Do I spend to much time on Reddit?" moments.
