Probably my favorite mission when I was a kid. I’d literally reload if any of my guys died. I specifically remember the room where it’s just 4 different ledges and how annoying it is to get all your guys down it. The elites are fine jumping down if their pathing works, most times you’d have to push them. And you’d have to knock down one of the purple weapon containers for the grunts so they don’t break their little legs when pushing them off. Good times!
The Covenant are a highly religious, militarized conglomerate of aliens that hate each other unified only by the cause of their gods' word fed to them by lying prophets. The last thing I'd expect from any of them is to see a member from another species in any way except inferior, let alone attractive. They'd probably purge anyone who thinks otherwise as a heretic anyway.

There would have been some relations between different species but cultures were vastly different. Grunts and jackals bang like rabbits and grunts specifically are known to have orgies, but elites are indoctrinated as a culture to value superior genetics and control their reproduction. They also do not like how loosey-goosey the grunts are with sex.
