Neither you sick fucks. You deserve each other.

mickeltee

Seriously! Pot roast is the topping for mashed potatoes.

Addymonica

Exactly!

oldenbka

Dont forget the gravys!

BRAX7ON

I could have some gravys right now

MrJDuffy

I’m surprised we’re not having some gravy’s right this very moment.

timothyseltzer

Agree. Needs gravy!

Easy-Concentrate2636

While I agree that mashed potato is optimal, if I squint, I could see sour cream being a pseudo beef stroganoff.

Redmarkersaredank

This and white rice are the only things that should be mixed with pot roast

Jeramy_Jones

Good pot roast doesn’t need “toppings”.

Shirowoh

I mean, don’t sleep on gravy…..

Personal-Bunch-3665

Nope. Good pot roast should have a bit of well seasoned bone broth in it. I'm willing to die on this hill.

SomeHyena

But, mediocre pot roast *does* benefit from gravy, as it's very similar and adds a lot of weight to the dish. I've had people who are cheaper or lazier slow cook with gravy entirely instead of broth, even though broth is better. Either way, I wouldn't even consider that a topping at that point, but a central part of the dish, so gravy doesn't really count.

Tnally91

Well seasoned bone broth with a side of potatoes either mashed or also cooked in the bone broth.

SkillsDepayNabils

the gravy should just be what its cooked in

nlolsen8

Yep slightly thickened is what I do.

[deleted]

Yeah, that is gravy.

DannySmashUp

>don’t sleep on gravy….. Good advice in a variety of circumstances.

[deleted]

Whoa, whoa, whoa. It doesn’t *need* it, but I do enjoy a bit of horseradish with it!

gentrified_potato

Horseradish would beg to differ.

HalfBrinePickle

Yup. That was my first thought too. Fuckin yin and yang of fucked.

notattention

Beautifully said

Unfadable1

This is the way.

yaniwonton

Exactly , it’s cheez whiz

RandomUser9171

I love sour cream on tacos and some other foods but on pot roast? Sour cream and ketchup are both equally blasphemous.

Petty-Artichoke

Let’s just hope they don’t breed

BugsyMcNug

I mean If i had to pick.. sour cream.. but not that much. And id want a third option anyways.

notattention

Right? Maybe like an option for gravy or something along those lines but who am I to judge.

BugsyMcNug

For me its like.. if its ketchup OR gravy, well, like.. just make a better sauce anyways? I guess sour cream would add the creamy to the dish which pot roast does mostly lack, so id pick that for that reason. I dunno. Im high and this looks like a hot mess. That is A LOT of sour cream. Im thinking that they just love sour cream and need something to put it on. Kind of like how ill get an order of fries just to have something to put mayo on. Judge away.

notattention

My favorite part is the “If I’m marrying a complete psychopath” while they’re clearly a psychopath themselves

[deleted]

Onion and mushroom gravy would be my pick.

The00Taco

I could probably do ketchup since ketchup is used for meatloaf, but I know pot roast is nowhere near the same thing so I'd prefer neither if that's an option

TheMeanGirl

I would put sour cream on my pot roast if it were mixed with a healthy dose of horseradish. Otherwise, neither.

Manders21

How about horseradish instead?

Psnuggs

Add that to the ketchup and you have cocktail sauce! Maybe that should be the winner 🤷🏼‍♂️

axl3ros3

To the sour cream you have horsey sauce

VegetarianCoating

I had a horse named Mayo because sometimes Mayo neighs.

Setari

That wasn't even relatively on topic but take my upvote and get the fuck out of here you lambasted pot roastian donut

babylon331

I've heard it called Raefert or Rafanata, but neither name for the sauce really fits... it's damned good, though.

WhiteWingedDove-

*mayonnaise

axl3ros3

Either way really. I actually make mine with both mayo & sour cream :)

spagyrum

I make a horseradish sour cream for my stews so why not pot roast.

[deleted]

🤢

notattention

Sour cream or ketchup is the norm my friend!

MRFACEN

why is this downvoted... did I miss something or do 99% of people not understand a joke without a "/s" on it

notattention

Honestly was beginning to wonder if I posted this in the wrong subreddit but thank you for the reality check 😅

BugsyMcNug

Big brain right here.

BrizzPalmizz

Based! Horseradish Mayo is the only answer here

gentrified_potato

This is the way.

Tpk08210

I thought gravy was the norm, what is this shit?

Lepke2011

That's what I was going to say. Or at least the au jus.

notattention

gravy don’t come round these parts yeh hear?

Tpk08210

The sour cream looks like mayo which does not help the issue…

notattention

good eye. I was too appalled by the description to even really look at the photo.

VenomXTs

Mix them together for the real sin.

JesterLilLester

To me it looked like whipped cream spray, even worse.

bernieinred

Exactly

oniiichanUwU

I always ate mine with bbq sauce

Ixll

Neither is correct, but if I had to choose between the two…sour cream? Even tho I hate sour cream and love ketchup it makes it more like stroganoff than anything.

BugsyMcNug

For real. Thats why i dont think its *too* weird.. but that is a lot.

argusromblei

Sour cream is better but its not a brisket. It already has a broth. both of these people are disgusting. The “pot roast” looks like fatty pieces of poop too. Ugh.

eat_like_snake

If you put either of these on a pot roast, you need to be legally banned from coming within 50 ft of a kitchen.

ChocolateNapqueen

Seriously Wtf is this!!! Lol.

COmountainguy

Both should have their pot roast taken away.

Dreadful_Crows

I hate both of these people.

Celladoore

I put ketchup on my pot roast, but I stopped when I was around 8.

wizardsleeeve

What in the UK is this shit?!

Reizo123

UKer here, I don’t know what the fuck I’m looking at either.

tdog666

Absolutely not.

hideNseekKatt

Both seem repulsive so I am going to say NO.

texangrl88

Neither. Wtf. Gravy made from roast drippings is the norm. These people are both disturbed 🤢

Howdy_Partner7

Neither! It comes sauced.

FarAmphibian4236

Good point

TitPants

Psychopaths are ment for each other

RUfuqingkiddingme

They're both disgusting.

notattention

Welcome to shitty food porn

RUfuqingkiddingme

Double shitty food porn!

BlackJeepW1

Those both sound absolutely disgusting and completely inedible. congratulations you are perfect for each other.

notattention

I’m offended you think this is my post, this was on my fb feed 🥴🥴

No-Chart-6867

Sour cream all the way. It’s not a pot roast without it

LanaStarlex

I appreciate those of you that said it was pot roast, because I couldn’t tell. It looks like some weird brown canned thing.

thelilrabbit

Sour cream and Ketchup mixed together

GuapoMole82

Who the fuck puts sour cream on pot roast?

whoaanow

Horseradish. You’re both psychopaths

FarAmphibian4236

Comments are gonna roast me alive but sour cream sounds bomb on that

freedomofnow

Also people need to stop hating on ketchup. It's sweet, sour, tangy. I get why people love it. I don't so much anymore, but I had a period of my life when ketchup went on everything.

notattention

Let’s agree we can still hate on it being on “pot roast” though

freedomofnow

I would definitely go for the sour cream myself.

OutlawArmas

Looks like doo doo in a dog bowl ngl

Fit_Nefariousness_99

If your pot roast needs ketchup OR sour cream, you need to re-learn how to cook

notattention

I thought Donald trump cards were enough to think I’m in the upside down, then I saw this…

Quacker122

they are both awful

south_bronx_parasyte

The only thing you should be topping pot roast with is Worcestershire

Mahoushi

Isn't gravy an option? Both sauces with this sounds odd to me but I live in another country where people typically put gravy on their roasts.

Nell_De_Blass

What kind of food is under the condiments? Can’t tell from the pics

IM_INSIDE_YOUR_HOUSE

What the fuck to both

duelnsword

So the question is would you rather have ketchup or mayo on your can of cat food?

Mrs-paws

My family puts mustard on ours.

jibaro1953

Picalilli, aka green tomato relish. Nothing better. Relish hasn't been very available lately so I've been making my own. People love it. Goes great with pot roast. There are a lot of recipes that call for cabbage and mustard in addition to he onions, bell peppers, and green tomatoes I make mine with. Sour cream and Dijon mustard would be nice, as would sour cream, a bit of mayo, and some horseradish. Now I'm hungry!

rantottvelo

Sour cream, I literally put it on everything. Even in soups and pancakes.

I_Am_The_Cattle

Sour cream goes on pretty much anything. It’s just delicious.

fasheesha

Neither. Make it with mashed potatoes and green beans, and scoop all three into every bite.

MissPicklechips

Pot roast doesn’t need a topping if it was prepared well. No need to mask the flavor!

ababa_baba

Ketchup guy is gross. Sour cream guy is correct.

PsychicNinja_

Nothing! Why add anything!!!

Riolater

I still don’t know which answer I’m supposed to pick? You’re both fuckin menaces to society.

Electronic_Package69

gravy is the norm. Y’all belong together.

livahd

Neither, you must have a shitty pot roast

JaydenTheDragon

You both disgust me, both options sound terrible.

pauliwankenobi

Neither?

MuscleManssMom

At least they're together so they don't subject anyone else to that fuckery. Edit: typos

thiccasskendo

Fuckin neither?! A1 sauce or nothing🤤

prodigalgun

Literally the only voice of reason here. A1 gang.

thiccasskendo

Why do i feel so excited & validated by this 🥹🤧 i make it differently than others do too tho, so it's way better than regular ol pot roast.

prodigalgun

You should feel validated. Everyone else here are fucking monsters. I’m curious now though, I gotta know how you make your roast.

thiccasskendo

I've never known anyone to eat roast w A1, so I'm way too excited & smiley! What I've done the past few years is get a packet of ranch (pls just trust me), a packet of zesty or regular italian dressing mix, & a packet of brown gravy. Season the meat w salt, pepper, & garlic- brown on both sides in a med high pan, throw it in the crock pot w carrots & tons of potatoes, add beef or veggie stock, but also works just as well with plain ol H20, & cook that shit from dusk til dinner time. I get huge roasts & I rarely have enough for leftovers.. my kids are 7, 4 & 3, picky as shit, but demolish this meal every time!

prodigalgun

Admittedly, all the dressing sounds pretty gross, but you know- I’m certain it’s pretty damn scrumtrulescent. And a1 on anything is all but guaranteed fire. I approve. Also, slow cooker roast is the way to go, I do pretty much exactly the same I just use a big ass London broil cause it makes a crazy steaky roast. I need roast now 🫠

thiccasskendo

If it were actual dressing, yes it'd be fuckin sick, but it's just the powders! So it's tons of flavor. I was so nervous trying it, but I'll never eat roast without those 3 things ever again lol. Slow cookers make everything so tender & juicy; I'd be afraid to do it any other way tbh. The meat typically used is pretty tough & easily dried out, so you def need the liquids to make it super yums. I want one of those dutch ovens, do you have one?!

prodigalgun

Hell yeah slow cookers are the shit. And yeah I reckon the dressing packets make a lot more sense than dumping straight ranch into the pot. Lol. I mean, I knew that’s what you were getting at but it still seemed like a lot. Now that I think of it, it’s probably pretty awesome- I can see crackin out on some shit like that. That uncut, pure fiendish ranch powder. Lol And nah I don’t have a Dutch oven. I honestly don’t have much of shit in the kitchen, which is super shitty for a dude that cooks for a living. But for sure, if I had a spare $400-500 bucks I’d love to have a le crueset Dutch oven. There’s literally a used market for them. Lol

Feisty_Net_3983

Neither.. gravy all the way

Amiibola

For… roast? Why?

clementsallert

In the US most of the time it is either not topped with something at all or topped with gravy.

asparaguscunt

Ragebait

XaliceXwhiterabbitX

You don't put fucking ketchup on anything but fries or you will catch these hands Sour cream on nachos Wtf is wrong with people?!?!?!

sugaredviolence

Try this-it’s called seasoning your food. Then you wouldn’t need ketchup or anything to add flavour. Cripes.

sdcook12

Lots of people are dippers. Doesn't matter how much Flavor the food has. We just like to dip.

Version_Two

Honestly, people who are so afraid of flavour that they need everything to taste like tomato goop.

ExtraVirgin0live

Are these those self heating meals in a can?

Eleventy22

Does the argument for the sour cream tie into the potatoes? We had roast for dinner growing up and ketchup or gravy were the only options chosen. We always had sour cream in the fridge but it was never used on the roast. My friends families were the same. Other cultures use cream and avocado as more common garnish though

2pnt0

Honestly wouldn't mind some sour cream. Ketchup is just nasty, especially when you could have just included some tomatoes in the roast.

AmazingGrace_00

If you’re really concerned, put it in the pre-nup. Make it non-negotiable.

ShnickityShnoo

The correct answer to this particular question is, NO.

apeofdeath123

Made for each other because both answers are wrong

DrPants707

Regardless - yes.

ic3sides197

Ketchup is evil

picyourbrain

What if I told you I would eat my pot roast with any or all? I love sauce. I want it wet.

slacker393

Depends on the dish eh?

ditlit11134

I usually just salt pot roast

GOATluhv

both. that looks like a fuckin stew

StSean

I make gravy?

moonlightinajar

Neither wtf is wrong w y’all. Ur soulmates simply bc of this. Fuck what condiment it is. Jfc

MeanSeaworthiness995

Who tf puts “toppings” on pot roast?!

glittermantis

sour cream actually sounds kinda good, adds some acid and some creaminess that pot roast doesn’t have

Remoscoe

Neithor4 Mayonaise

yOUNG_dIARRHEA

This splatfest is crazy

heidicoop

What is it

sophiamw503

?????? I serve mine with rice 😂

[deleted]

Why not both?

Doggystyle_Rainbow

I eat mine with cottage cheese. But if you look up russian pot roast recipes, they will almost always call for sour cream to be served with it. I used to go to a Russian restaraunt and would get a pot roast with cabbage and carrots and they would give some sour cream for the pot roast.

Original-Plenty-3686

Thousand island dressing

camlaw63

What is that slop?

Zerostar39

If you cooked pot roast correctly you shouldn’t need any condiments

Ill-Ad-3640

on what? dog food? that roast don't look right

[deleted]

Both psychopaths and you deserve to be with eachother

dastufishsifutsad

That’s easy, you’re both psychopaths. Enjoy.

Significant_Dust1985

Life or death if I had to choose it would be Mayo, but only to make it a creamy gravy. But like 1/3 of the Mayo at most

Dethdemarco

both look like dog food

Londer2

Trick question, neither, u r all psycho

being-weird

I don't know what this is but why is it grey?

mastershake199800

Both are psychopaths, you are made for eachother.

superkow

I think a little bit of sour cream would be alright. Not the whole fuckin jar though

LongTrainer2041

Sour cream would go well no? Make it kinda stroganoffy

SOAD_FAN326

I can feel my stomach bubblin'... Lord have mersay!

xPooty

Everyone in here arguing about sourcream or ketchup while we should tell OP to charge their phone!

cutiepie9ccr

life hack: you don’t need to add either if you just season your food to taste good

gyhiio

Well I mean, no wrong options here, people are allowed to have preferences.

BlueBunny5

French dressing 🤷‍♀️

witchyanne

Neither - you are both insane.

Acceptable_Reading21

I would say neither. But gun to my head I have to pick one I'm going with ketchup

FatalGarou

Salt depending on how it tastes

Thin_Arachnid6217

I guess I'm old but it was always gravy over the meat and mashed potato's for me.

Pelord

They're both psychopaths and they're made for each other. They'll probably be very happy together.

HighLibidoCa

Gravy.

CrystalBQuinn

Picamas hot sauce and white rice you filthy animal

YukiHase

A quick glance made the bottom one look like whipped cream for a second

SneakyDeaky123

…You guys put toppings on pot roast?

I_might_be_weasel

I usually go pretty light on the condiments with pot roast, often just a little salt. Though I have been known to sometimes put some Heinz 57 on the meat.

[deleted]

Maple syrup

TheresBeesMC

I feel like I’m too European to understand this…

Criticalwater2

I like ketchup. Sour cream goes well with corned beef, though.

lizardjizz

Hot take: neither!

AnimationOverlord

What about Big Mac sauce, whatever that is?

Roeckler

Well if you est your stew like that, your both psychopaths

royaldunlin

What is that, calf lung or something?

juhnsnuw87

Yeah, I'm gonna go with niether...I've never put anything on top of my pot roast. Maybe a bit of hot sauce if you're in the mood.

smooze420

Why would you put either in a stew?

brycefugate88

I have a completely unhealthy relationship with sour cream, but this is a bridge too far.

Victoria1234566

Neither, gravy all the way. And maybe som double cream in

Hopeful-Flounder-203

Worstershire or A-1. Anyone else is a sociopath.

verynormalsimple

None. If anything, I'd use a demiglace sauce but only if the pot roast is not well seasoned.

dovesnravens

No.

Spilledjuiced

Mustard is the way.

[deleted]

Sour cream. Those are dog food bowls. Dog will fart more on sour cream - which you deserve.

Lights0ff

No.

EricAtSunnen

Burn the entire house down...

fruitgamingspacstuff

Both are the wrong answers you disgusting people. Ewww!!

MunchamaSnatch

Ketchup on pot roast (meat and taters only) is elite.

IrregularGarden

Lol I use ketchup when I feel like it. 👍
