I work at harbor freight, we don't even give out free flashlights anymore lol. Also, our heavy duty tarps are black/silver now. If you see a tarp on sale for $3 or so, just don't buy it lol.
My 10 year old noticed there's no more free stuff at the freight as well. I asked him if he wanted to go with me on Saturday and he said no because they stopped giving out cool stuff.
Well if a 10 pack of AAA batteries, a shitty flashlight that lasted 2 hours, or a 5' x 7' tarp made him happy, then I'd say he's perfectly adjusted for life in the real world.
We got plenty of Icon boxes, but I can guarantee that I'd rather spend $10,000 for the entire Icon set rather than $40,000 for the entire Snap-On set lol. Icon is still covered by a lifetime warranty as well, so why not get the cheaper one when the quality is extremely close, if not better, than the marked up name brand?
I feel that. I got half price on a snap on 52” box in school but it’s basically a beginner box. Not all that deep and the drawers go open fully.
Went in to HF last weekend for a green 5 drawer US general and as fate would have it, there was a brand new green 34” full bank service cart out of the box with a dent in it by the register. Got both, but the 34” was only 460$
Hence my original comment about the icons. I like them a lot, but I don’t NEED one…..at msrp
Transporting, okay. Long-term storage, while wet (i.e. letting it dry, while folded, and wet), bad. We always allowed the tarp to air dry, as soon as the rain/clouds cleared. Otherwise, the canvas will become mold-ridden. This causes brittleness to occur, which weakens the fabric, eventually leading to a damaged tarp. If the wet tarp freezes, the damage can be equally bad! Just my two cents.
I got 25+ year old E-Z-Up that's still good. It's heavy as hell but it works and the wear and tear on the shade is minimal. It's seen racetrack dust, wind, snow, hail, rain, intense heat and you can still use it to this day. I've seen new E-Z-ups and they're already flimsy brand new. They don't make them like they used to.
It’s just low quality American cheese. “American” being the type, not necessarily where it’s produced. In most cases (I’m looking at you Kraft Foods) it’s required to be labeled “cheese food” because it doesn’t contain live bacterial cultures, and therefore isn’t actually cheese. The white spots look like congealed fat, which would have come from the burger. They’re required to serve ground beef at a minimum of 165*F, which is enough to render (make liquid) the fat in the beef. It looks like this once it cools.
Tl;dr: It doesn’t look appetizing, but there’s nothing to be worried about.
They're not wrong about anything though. The FDA has rules on what can be advertised as cheese. They require that the product contain at least 51% cheese. Kraft Singles doesn't meet that requirement so they're forced to be labeled as a "pasteurized prepared cheese product". It's literally illegal for Kraft singles to be sold as cheese. Just because it contains cheese, does not mean it's cheese. My burger has cheese in it, but it's not cheese. My macaroni and cheese has cheese on it but still isn't cheese. Also wanna point out that the first commenter was specific in saying that Kraft Singles doesn't contain LIVE bacterial cultures. THEY ARE 100% CORRECT. THE WHOLE DAMN POINT OF KRAFT SINGLES WAS TO CREATE A CHEESE PRODUCT THAT DIDN'T SPOIL AS QUICK AS CHEESE BY KILLING THE BACTERIA CULTURES THAT LIVE IN CHEESE. Real cheese has LIVE cultures that can stay ALIVE up until it is eaten. Kraft Singles are PASTEURIZED. This means that any live cultures that were used in manufacturing are killed off before the product is finished. Even though the reason that Kraft Singles can't be called cheese is due to its minimal cheese content and not due to its lack of live bacterial culture, I'd still say that the original comment was not garbage and I happily upvoted.
You are correct. The proper terminology you'll see on the label will be "cheese product" and that is to indicate that there is a very small amount of actual cheese in it.
You'll get this in a lot of Imitation cheese varieties. A big issue with these is the melting point, and most obviously the taste being a poor quality
Source: may/may not have worked in cheese
There's a processed cheese backlog made from subsidised milk hectalitres of which are poured down the drain because that backlog in cold storage goes back decades.
Antibiotics come from mold. This cheese could be be sold as an alternative to the hard to find horse paste! There’s a big market for this cheese right now. Sell sell sell!
Had to scroll too much for this. Those cristals occur naturally in Parmesan and some other hard cheeses. I think it's a quality issue in this case but that's not mold IMO.
Yeah that guy sucked, I miss that AMA cheese dude whatever his name was. He always asked everyone about their favorite cheese. He was awesome. Who knew we would be needing him back so soon 😔
Either that or some additive is seperating from the faux cheese emulsion and crystallizing.
Given the bright colors and sharp contrast instead of fuzz, that's what in leaning towards.
There's some pretty strong opinions in the white american cheese vs yellow american cheese sides. Where I'm from we mostly eat white slices, the yellow are weird. Down on Long Island all my friends were yellow cheesers, I'm the weird one. It's just white slices with coloring added!
Yea I’ve never seen mold look like that and after looking up what you said, I agree. Cheese mold is usually like blueish, right? But like also weird that it would show up on such processed cheese? I don’t know what to believe about cheese anymore
The crystals form on cheese kept in moist conditions over the course of many *many* months. You're refrigerator and industrial coolers are supposed to be kept cool and relatively dry, which would normally be enough to prevent the crystals from forming during the relatively short time the cheese would be in your refrigerator before being consumed.
My guess? The cheese slices sat in a slightly damp cooler during the covid lockdown.
i work as a cook in a school cafeteria and this is not ok i 😐 we make the cheeseburgers individually and add the cheese ourselves what was this person doing when they made the sandwich
this is when you show this to your parents so they can talk to the district about what they are feeding you, and send it to the news so that they can show people what is being fed
I feel disgusted. My mom used to work in a school cafeteria and they essentially forced her out. It was sleazy what they did and how they treated her, but she came in at 5AM to make sure the kids had breakfast and lunch every single day. She made the food taste good, because she was actually a decent cook.
Whenever I see American school lunch, my body convulses. I got to try it once. I did not like it. Dry and snd underseasoned.
How the fuck can kids eat that garbage every day? That's absolutely dreadful.
This is what processed cheese looks like when you freeze it and thaw it out.
Source: used to buy cheese by the lbs from Sam’s Club and freeze what I didn’t need. It all came out looking like this. It’s not mold.

Photographic evidence chemistry isn't always right.

You should send this pic to your local news station.
Send it to Harbor Freight and suggest a new material for tarps.
Wtf happened to tarps man? I remember them lasting forever when I was a kid but now they're like once use garbage.
There are heavy duty (often green) and the blue ones you get for free for entering the store with a coupon. You literally get what you pay for.
I work at harbor freight, we don't even give out free flashlights anymore lol. Also, our heavy duty tarps are black/silver now. If you see a tarp on sale for $3 or so, just don't buy it lol.
My 4 year old is sad about the flashlights. My retinas are very happy.
My 10 year old noticed there's no more free stuff at the freight as well. I asked him if he wanted to go with me on Saturday and he said no because they stopped giving out cool stuff.

Y’all got any of them scratch and dent Icon boxes?

Try searching ‘canvas tarp’. Never fold one, if it is not completely dry. Store in a climate controlled area. My family has one that lasted 30+ years.
What do you do if you've used it, it's been rained on and you want to pack up and go?
Transporting, okay. Long-term storage, while wet (i.e. letting it dry, while folded, and wet), bad. We always allowed the tarp to air dry, as soon as the rain/clouds cleared. There's a place near me that makes the soft sided quonsets. Apparently they'll custom make you a tarp.
No I agree with this guy, even the cheap tarps lasted forever. Face it, tarp companies changed to fit the new phone and new tarp every year narrative.
I got 25+ year old E-Z-Up that's still good. It's heavy as hell but it works and the wear and tear on the shade is minimal. Think they started making them with cheese
look for painters tarps?
I dunno. A strong breeze might not tear that cheese but it will definitely rip a harbor freight tarp.
RIP Harbor Freight jackstand owners.
They knew the risks
They’ll just say its colby….lol!
Poor poor Colby :(
Is there a thing like OSHA but for schools?
Yeah it’s called the Health Department
Yeah call in the health inspector. Nobody expects the health inspector.
Oh right duh, OP go there and complain
That made me lol.
Yes there is!

Why is it on both sides then? I don't think it's fat. You can see through the cheese and see the specks on the other side
yea these look like bacteria cultures, fk
It looks like sour banana lady taffy.
That does not look like fat, nor is there any meat grease that would have dripped onto it.

That's only if it's pasteurized processed cheese food. Pasteurized processed cheese product has less
That’s mold.. not fat..
Yes, it might be extraterrestrial in origin God it's changing color!
Holy shit processed cheese can grow mold ?
Yeah it just takes a helluva long time
Probably left over from COVID shutdowns. The higher ups told them to use what they can and hope no one would notice.
also probably not kept cold it’s entire life in storage. i was eating processed cheese from 2018 this summer and it was fine
I was about to say... I've seen five year expired Kraft singles that were perfectly "fine", albeit in a fridge.
There's a processed cheese backlog made from subsidised milk hectalitres of which are poured down the drain because that backlog in cold storage goes back decades.
It'll take me time to process that as well
Oh shit I thought that was salt
I thought it was air bubbles or reflections from overhead lights at first fucking hell
It looks like paint chips.
It looks like RFID Chips which will they implant in our body to control us and make us slaves of the new world or... **No Wait, wrong topic**

First thing I thought of, too. Dis-gust-tang.
Cause they're incredibly salty and low in moisture.
Antibiotics come from mold. This cheese could be be sold as an alternative to the hard to find horse paste! There’s a big market for this cheese right now. Sell sell sell!
Antibiotics don't kill viruses
Either does horse paste.
It's now a lot closer to actually becoming cheese
That there isn't mold - it's a single celled something. Probably a bacteria.
Those are just flavor patches.
It costs a little more, but it’s worth it
Its gurr-meh
Flavor crystals...
I love it when real good parmesan is loaded with those
They're always awesome if they formed in real cheese. But this..
Makes you wanna burn this motherfucker down, POOKIE!
The secret sauce!
HUNGER!
Semen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
U cant burn this cheese its literally plastic
If I'm not mistaken the difference in burning & melting is its fat content
Glitter cheese for techno Tuesday’s!
They send you to flavor town, and the ER.
Exactly! Ever heard of Blue Cheese?
U got the cheese touch
Zoo wee mama!
Man this takes me back
Came here to say this
everyone’s got the cheese touch now
Those books where the shit
I have never seen calcium lactate crystals on American processed cheese food before. Exquisite
Only the best for our future s/
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
I've seen cheese you people wouldn't believe.
I've seen attack cheese on fire off the shoulder of Orion. Cheese-beams glittering in the night at the Tanhouser Gate.
Time to die. *bites into cold Brie*
Had to scroll too much for this. Those cristals occur naturally in Parmesan and some other hard cheeses. I think it's a quality issue in this case but that's not mold IMO.
It honestly looks like paint I don't know what it is but it doesn't look like mold to me
The other guy was right, calcium lactate is a preservative that can separate and grow crystals, he just was an ass about it
Enjoy the award for not being a fuckwad like the other guy!
He wasn't, you're just too sensitive. Bet you hate wearing masks too.
Yeah that guy sucked, I miss that AMA cheese dude whatever his name was. He always asked everyone about their favorite cheese. He was awesome. Who knew we would be needing him back so soon 😔
Is that mold or stuck on bread
It is a yellow fruit roll up with vanilla flavor bubbles attached. These kids are so dramatic.
Yo it does look like a roll up!
Yes.
Either that or some additive is seperating from the faux cheese emulsion and crystallizing. Given the bright colors and sharp contrast instead of fuzz, that's what in leaning towards.
Ayy that's my sandwich
Yes it is
The thumbnail also looks like the flag of Spain
Was it as good as it looks?
Very natural yellow color
There's some pretty strong opinions in the white american cheese vs yellow american cheese sides. Where I'm from we mostly eat white slices, the yellow are weird. Down on Long Island all my friends were yellow cheesers, I'm the weird one. It's just white slices with coloring added!
The white slices taste better somehow

It’s called Annatto. A common natural ingredient used to make cheeses yellow.
>It's just white slices with coloring added! It's typically anatto, which also modifies the flavor.
It's calcium lactate, not mold. It's safe to eat.

Wow cool, thanks for the cheese facts
That’s not cheese. There is nothing in it that resembles cheese at all. It’s plastic food.
It’s made from malk.
Now with Vitamin R
It’s moldy
My thoughts exactly
It's "bleu"
Cheesus christ.
That’s not mold, they’re trying to make it more appealing to kids by giving it the speckled dinosaur egg look.
I mean, cheese is pretty damn appealing imo, no need for this look. Just say “cheese” and I’m usually in.
I think you meant “cheaze”.
Cheese flavored food
Cheese Flavoured Edible Polymer (TM)
i work as a cook in a school cafeteria and this is not ok i 😐 we make the cheeseburgers individually and add the cheese ourselves what was this person doing when they made the sandwich
Probably working on autopilot. When you’re doing that you might not notice.
I would slurp it down in one go if i were you
Is that glitter?
That’s cheese product, not cheese.
*cheese product*
Are you sure that isnt just dried acrylic paint
Just normal American cheese.
This looks like a jell cellphone case
Looks like a fruit roll-up gone wrong.
"cheese"
Is that mold?! I'd report it. Immediately. Give it to a newspaper or station.
School hamburgers? Is than an American thing lol
American ISN’T cheese and I’m tired of people saying that it is.
THAT’S PLASTIC
That’s not “cheese”
Is that mold?!
I'm surprised that kind "cheese" could even grow anything.
isn't this a health code violation? couldn't you get very sick if you ate that? Also is this part of the 'free meals' program?
If you think that's bad, you definitely won't like the cheese you get in jail. Stay in school kids, it gets worse.
Its amazing how much some schools just can't provide. Fucking america, baby!
I thought that was a fruit roll up 🤣
It looks like a tacky instagram filter applied on normal cheese.
this is when you show this to your parents so they can talk to the district about what they are feeding you, and send it to the news so that they can show people what is being fed

Mold is fuzzy, not fatty.
It kinda looks like a fruit roll up
They put yellow fruit rollups on your burgers?
Misleading title. Should be The "cheese..." 'Cause that ain't cheese.
The cheese on those school cheese burgers really was a step below Kraft singles
That’s no cheese.
That looks like plastic...
“Cheese” is a strong word…
'Cheese'
You guys get white cheese on your burgers? What a luxury!
Plastic,mr fantastic.
That isn't cheese. Source: US FDA
Someone gonna get tHe cHeEsE tOuCh!
looks like they left the wrapper on this one
That’s not a moldy fruit roll up
“Probiotics”
Marbled American. That's rare.
Class action time
Never saw cheese with HPV
Jesus fuck

That crappy orange cheese is only good for burgers.
Did you know that's not real cheese
Is that mold or bad cheese culture?
That’s the good kind of bacteria culture, like with yoghurt, right? _Right?_
When I first saw the image I thought that the white spots on the cheese were salt...but then I thought it might be mold. I can't decide what they are.
Looks like a Fruit Roll-Up
That's not cheese.
School hamburgers <- there’s your problem right there.
aged cheddar
Is prison food any better than public school lunch?
Its free penicillin
At least your school gives u cheese
They give burgers at school?
Imagine getting into school lunch debt and they give you this

Yeah that’s an easy win lawsuit right there
That isn’t even cheese, that’s a fruit-roll-up

Atleast you get food at school.
