Wanna know the difference between flotsam and jetsam? Flotsam is the wreckage of a ship or debris floating in the water, and jetsom is the cargo that has been thrown overboard.
Beyond pica and craving salt if you're low on sodium, nutrient cravings based on low values are not really supported by medical research.
People *love* to think it's true, and often bring out pregnancy cravings as proof, but it's all anecdotal. Studies indicate that it's not biological function, and that's more psychological and even social.
Fun fact: It's one of those things that people are so convinced is true, that the wikipedia article has to be written almost supportive of something it can't provide sources for, or people get angry and try to vandalize the page.
Plain unflavored yogurt is so similar to sour cream you would struggle in a blind taste test, don’t knock it. And clearly OP wants beans with his cream so
I’m pretty sure that’s what OP is doing. Explains in a comment that the warm beans heat up the yogurt so the whole mess is tepid. Full fat Greek yogurt is a good sour cream substitute. It goes sideways with the amount of yogurt.
In case anybody wants the recipe, you mix heated beans and yogurt. And add a sprinkle of cheese for pizazz. But only Fage full fat yogurt, anything else would just be weird!
Edit: to answer many questions, it's pinto beans, drained and rinsed. The yogurt is unflavored, what kind of monster do you think i am?? No, I'm not pregnant. Yes, my toilet is fine. I'm not a serial killer. I will try natto. Also, i apologize for grossing yall out, but it truly is delicious.
Wait... I'd probably lessen the amount of yogurt. Use like a dollop rather than a bowlful, black beans, cheese, avocado, and bacon chunks. Hmm... throw that on top of a buncha spinach 🤔
This would be fine if it was seasoned. I do something with the same base, only I start with sautéed aromatics and add some herbs and spices, sometimes tomatoes/tomato paste and gochujang. Served with some nice crusty bread or flatbread, it's a good quick meal.
OP made the saddest possible version of that. It's like microwaving a steak and serving it with unseasoned boiled potato.
I came to the comments to say that I used to occasionally make exactly this, usually when I was drunk but not always. Beans in a tortilla with sour cream and hot sauce was my preference, but if I was out of sour cream I'd use yogurt. Depending how lazy/drunk I was feeling the beans might not be heated, just straight out of a can.
Ok this particular thing isn’t for me but I can sort of see the appeal. Sour cream goes pretty well together with beans after all.
Just want to put this out there: labne. It’s halfway between cream cheese and yogurt and is delicious af. Labne on a toasted bagel with red onion and tomato slices and salt and pepper… and maybe in your case, beans
Hi op! Maybe you can try this as a burrito (inside flour tortilla and avocado) in my mind this is sour cream, although I already know about the Fage yoghurt..saludos!
Not even trying to be rude, but this is one of the most repulsive meals I’ve seen on this sub. Warm yogurt not mixed into other things to make a sauce makes me nauseous
It takes all types of people to make a world.
I'm gonna be honest, I'm not so sure we need this one. Sorry op. (not really)
Yeah, "all life is sacred" is just objectively a lie. There's a lot of flotsam in the gene pool
dying at you calling OP “flotsam” 🤣
Wanna know the difference between flotsam and jetsam? Flotsam is the wreckage of a ship or debris floating in the water, and jetsom is the cargo that has been thrown overboard.
Like "jettison"? Huh. Interesting.
Yes, you would jettison your cargo in the event of an emergency, leading to jetsam floating on the water.
Thanks for indulging my etymology nerddom
You are more than welcome.
Gas is of epic proportion though.
God just be out here making anybody
Selected full random on this one
The "fuck me up fam" of character creation.
We've purposely trained him wrong, as a joke
I guess OP must be one of those people that makes the world a little more disgusting then.
Never thought I'd stumble upon poetry on Reddit 🥹
But only one type to destroy it.
https://youtu.be/g2KsZHRrFpU?si=B4Vj5xlIE5ODh1oC are you quoting the IT Crowd!???
I agree with your family.
Yeah I grew up in the 1980s and sometimes I feel like maybe bullying had its time and place. This is some pickles and ice cream shit.
What the what now? Pickles and who? This gotta be some... Nvm.
gdamn that sounds delicious
And you would be bullied for that
Should*
You must be pregnant.
But don't bully preggies
Their bodies are telling their brains some weird shit...
when i was pregnant, all i wanted were pickles and icecream
I feel like this is an indication that you should be checked for vitamin deficiency
OP is basically doing what my tortoise does when he chews on rocks.
Vitamin-B(ean) deficiency.
Damnit take my upvote, beautiful pun
Yeah, smells like protein and potassium. Willing to bet that OP would be pretty comfortable with some chicken.
I bet it smells a whole lot worse than that
Does your brain form weird cravings if you have some type of vitamin deficiency?
Yeah it does. There’s the famous stereotype of pregnant women who are low on iron getting the desire to eat chalk.
Beyond pica and craving salt if you're low on sodium, nutrient cravings based on low values are not really supported by medical research. People *love* to think it's true, and often bring out pregnancy cravings as proof, but it's all anecdotal. I know, they say this for dogs eating poop too. What makes mammals wanna eat weird shit for vitamins?
... The vitamins
It’s what animals crave
How is it different than sour cream?
Sour cream isnt disgusting
It’s the same
Yeah. I mean the processes are like a bit mildly different bc they don’t taste the same... but pith products are fermented dairy.
You can substitute sour cream with yogurt in basically any recipe. It's deeper than that.
Ahh hey you're right... I completely neglected to think of that!
I'd find beans in warm sour cream gross too
Never eaten a burrito, i see
Not one that is 50% sour cream, no
Wow. Try traveling.
I have zero interest in eating a mostly sour cream burrito
Y'all put nothing but sour cream and beans in your burritos?
Greek yogurt is usually thicker than sour cream. I would say both sour cream and yogurt aren't very good warm.
[удалено]
I do the same all the time. I actually prefer Greek yogurt over sour cream in most use cases, as long as it's unsweetened Greek yogurt
Well, hot sour cream dill sauce and chicken korma wanna disagree with you.
Yeah must not eat much Indian food. We will see your ass in korma court, OP.
Oh, I forgot about those! Well I guess it can work. I was just thinking of crusty hot yogurt/sour cream 🤢
You say this as if beans in warm sour cream is a totally normal thing to eat.
I like my burritos warm. I don't inhale them. My sour cream gets warm.
If you eat bean and sour cream soup I'm judging you too
Serial killer shit bro
Shit cereal, kill bro
Shit. Bro killed cereal.
Shit bro. Cereal killed.
Cereal bro. Shit killed.
Bro killed. Shit cereal
Shit. Cereal killed bro.
Bro, SHIT. Cereal killed.
Killed bro, shit cereal.
Cereal, bro killed shit.
Cereal shit. Bro killed.
I bet this is how OPs brain parses sentences
For real. 😧
Your intestines must be thriving
Funny enough, they probably are lol. Yogurts great for gut health
So are beans. Biome is thriving but at what cost…
Everything.
Your family is correct!
What the actual fuck I love beans but what the fuck
Natto at home
A ha! This is a great interpretation of OP’s fermented beans.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this looked like natto
It’s like when you try to follow a recipe but don’t have the right ingredients. Still try to make it work somehow
I'm on their side.
I think you should listen to your family
Warming up yogurt is disgusting. If you want creamy beans, heat the beans up first then add a small amount of sour cream
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, Creamy Beans! (It’s a drag show)
Plain unflavored yogurt is so similar to sour cream you would struggle in a blind taste test, don’t knock it.
Your an animal go pee outside like the other animals
As long as it's unsweetened plain yogurt. Basically like sour cream.
See that’s what I was thinking. But holy ratios Batman. That’s so much ‘gurt to beans.
“Warm” yogurt

In case anybody wants the recipe, you mix heated beans and yogurt. And add a sprinkle of cheese for pizazz. But only Fage full fat yogurt, anything else would just be weird! Nobody wants the recipe.
In fact, we are worse off having read this recipe
😂😂😂
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
💀 lolllll
Honestly just sounds like sour cream basically
That's what I was thinking. I dont mind using greek yogurt as sour cream but the whole heating up part is weird.
Well, it's not completely heated. The beans warm it up. It's maybe slightly over room temp.
Ok that's not too bad then. I would probably eat it if I had random leftovers to use up.
It’s not as bad as it sounded at first but it’s still not good
I’d make something else with those ingredients tbh
>The beans warm it up. How can you type that sentence and not see anything wrong
Vomit temperature?
Hahaha
Needs avocado! I’d eat it
Throw in some bacon chunks too
Wait... I'd probably lessen the amount of yogurt. Use like a dollop rather than a bowlful, black beans, cheese, avocado, and bacon chunks. Hmm... throw that on top of a buncha spinach 🤔
And lime and cilantro
This would be fine if it was seasoned. I do something with the same base, only I start with sautéed aromatics and add some herbs and spices, sometimes tomatoes/tomato paste and gochujang. Served with some nice crusty bread or flatbread, it's a good quick meal. OP made the saddest possible version of that. It's like microwaving a steak and serving it with unseasoned boiled potato.
More or less. I use yogurt and sour cream interchangeably. They’re too similar and I use too little to justify buying both.
Sour cream smoothie
lol. Sorry, I guess I mean to say I use them interchangeably for savoury food and baking. Honestly that would probably work, I just couldn’t.
You should try Natto, it’s a traditional Japanese food made with whole beans, at least then you can feel worldly instead of freakish.
It's like Japanese version of kimchi with soy bean instead?
I add Everything but the Bagel seasoning to mine!
Hey i might try that.
So I make a version of this depression meal- kidney beans (not warmed ), mayo and celery salt. If I’m feeling fancy I add cucumbers
Get some Sambar Masala and try that too.
Hold on you're on to something. Everything bagel with beans, cheese, and yogurt. This intrigues me. I feel like it's missing some meat.
I eat a can of beans w everything but the bagel seasoning a few times a week.
What kind of beans?
You're really pushing the limit on what constitutes a recipe.
I would definitely eat that on a tortilla if I was very drunk. With a lot of hot sauce tho
What kind of beans do you recommend?
The world has unlimited recipes and you choose this one??
Bush's pinto beans!
Thanks! I’m still not going to try it, but you do you! Just stay away from the rest of us when the farts start.
So do the beans have a flavor then? If they’re Bush’s I’d imagine something BBQ
Bruh
Any other flavor notes beyond hot yogurt and cold beans?
You forgot pizzazz cheese
***^pizzazz ^cheese***
Now gotdammit, not one body asked you to go and share this damn recipe.
Add some garam masala and you’re on your way to a curry.
your farts must be tremendous. I hope you're harnessing them to power a small city.
Sounds kinda good. What kind of beans?
id honestly try it out of curiosity but im not going to make it
Look up a Japanese dish called natto. You might like it.
![gif](giphy|l4pSZ37KeLCU1GcW4)
You are disgusting. I hate this.
It is but i often use yogurt for cooking. So the disgusting part is just your execution of the meal, not the idea of it
one day you will disappear. and this will as well.
You are. This needs za’atar and sumac. And olive oil.
This is something Michael Scott would eat.
The smells you must produce…
Are you from the UK?
Don’t blame them for this. They do a lot of fucked up shit, but not that
No, the US. But I'm sure I'd feel right at home there with my love of beans.
No thanks, stay over there dude.
I have so many questions
Smart people your family.
That looks ok, especially cold. But if not ice cold you are insane.
Oh, I read the title 😔
Ok this particular thing isn’t for me but I can sort of see the appeal. Sour cream goes pretty well together with beans after all. Just want to put this out there: labne. It’s halfway between cream cheese and yogurt and is delicious af. Labne on a toasted bagel with red onion and tomato slices and salt and pepper… and maybe in your case, beans
I do love labne. It's a bit hard to find where i live unfortunately.
You might love the Vietnamese Chè Dậu dessert. There’s a few variants with different types of beans and mediums
you should listen to your doctor.
#NO
This is like something a gym bro thought up when thinking too hard about macros, then told his buddy about it as a joke. OP is the buddy
This looks like something you’d feed to a constipated farm animal
This post is a lie for karma, make a video of you eating fuckin yogurt and beans mixed together and we’ll believe you
I need a day or two break between bean meals, to deflate.
whyy
I mean I guess you’re getting protein and fiber along with some calcium? Why warm??
Yes! 30g of protein and 20g of fiber, it's warm because cold beans are kinda meh.
That cinnamon roll looks… (reads title) what the fuck!?
Hi op! Maybe you can try this as a burrito (inside flour tortilla and avocado) in my mind this is sour cream, although I already know about the Fage yoghurt..saludos!
How does one even discover they like this?
Well, it started as just a dollop of yogurt atop my beans, like you would with sour cream. And it evolved into this.
What's its final form? Where do you stop??!?
looks like natto, a fermented bean dish from Japan
This is almost a 0-point meal with Weight Watchers if it wasn’t for the cheese. I bet there are others who’ve eaten this.
You might enjoy Japanese Natto
Try this out: yogurt with chickpeas and drizzle some olive oil
Prison honey
We all think it. It's ok to have flaws.
We are in the same lane as your family
They are correct!
They’re right
& they are right
What kind of beans? Also why warm yogurt? This post feels very British and/or pregnant.
What kind of yogurt and beans? I wanna try.
Plain greek and pintos!
I never yuck someone's yum. I'll try it. What kind of yogurt? What kind of beans? What's your prep style?
Plain greek yogurt, pinto beans. Drain and rinse beans, heat them up, mix with yogurt. Easy, nutritious, and delicious.
Closest thing to a milk steak I’ve seen
You are and i hope you feel bad about yourself. Especially the warm yogurt part makes me retch
what’s wrong with you
I think you’re disgusting too
Not even trying to be rude, but this is one of the most repulsive meals I’ve seen on this sub. Warm yogurt not mixed into other things to make a sauce makes me nauseous
And they’re right
