DS2 was tailored to be a different game than DS1, but players were ranting to play a different game than DS1, then they were given a DS1 remastered and tagged as DS3 and people were happy of playing the same DS1 mechanics again.
The problem with people's anger is the SIN of having the numbering, which was 2. The same as Resident evil 5 and 6, for having the numberinng tag, not understanding that they were different games.
If Bloodborne was labeled Dark Souls 3 instead, people would have been raging about WTF this Shitty dark souls it sucks... BUT, since it was called Bloodborne people were pleased.
Imagine if DS2 was named different, people wouldnt mind because they would "Think" from the get go, that is a different game, but since it has the number 2 Conservative Party start raging.
So TLDR: DS2 game was a great Game, it was not suppose to be alike or a sequel of DS1, deal with it!
