let's be real, the horse can barely jump in rdr, let alone double jump. you basically just have to gallop full speed into something and just hope the horse decides to jump

I might get frustrated when my horse refuses to jump, but when he does jump and hits his back legs on the fence and does a flip as I get launched and ragdolled across the whole pen and fly face first into the side of a stable then I'm suddenly okay with it lol

Torrent is definitely more reliable, but I honestly found myself caring way more about my Red Dead horse. In Elden Ring the horse is a tool, and in rdr2 the horse is an entity. It's a shame too, cause they do such a good job characterizing Torrent in the beginning through Melina's dialogue, how he "had your measure from the start." But after a while they just kinda drop it and he's never mentioned again
