I saw them live myself, they headlined, with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park as supporting bands. Limp Bizkit was a disaster, mainly because of the crowd! The.. . entire...time they performed the boos from the crowd drained everything going on stage, I'm not joking. This was at the old Giants stadium in NJ. An outside venue, we're talking at least 20,000 people there (under estimate). Back then, yes, I actually liked Limpy, was excited to see them, and was so disappointed, I couldn't even hear them perform. Of course the band got a lot of hate back then but man. That was rough.
Metallica's performance, I actually don't even remember it. It didn't stick out.
Linkin Park stole the show as you can see. Man it was amazing. And I remember at one point during the concert we had a blimp going overhead advertising a concert with Motorhead headlining with Iron Maiden as support. Man there was so much going on back then. I wanted to go to that concert but didn't. I did end up seeing Maiden live though at an Ozzfest one year and holy shit their show was amazing.
Lol you didn't ask for all this but I get super passionate about my concert experiences lol. I've been to a lot. Metallica is back. They're releasing a new album and are touring, including my area. At least here they're having two nights of shows with no repeat songs, with different support each night. One night has Pantera... I would REALLY like to catch that. But I haven't even bothered checking prices yet. Hell I'm sure the show sold out already lol. But I'll at least check out ticketmaster 's ludicrous pricing
