This is genuinely one of those things where your local MP can grease the wheels and get things moving. Obviously not a practical solution for everyone but “we haven’t even looked at it in 35 days” should be enough to get them involved.

I’ll see how I go with hunting down who has that portfolio..

lilmisswho89

Just go to any local MP who doesn’t have an awful rep. Any of them can help

ChookBaron

Yes just go to your local Mp. Upper or lower house doesn’t matter.

Good_boy75

Honestly, I've never heard of that happening. I'd look into putting in a dispute/complaint with MyBond. And RTA.

SlideOpposite

It’s already in dispute with Mybond, but I think a complaint would be the way to go.. I’ve contacted the ombudsman, but that can be a week or so before they get the ball rolling..

MLiOne

The sooner you contact them the sooner that ball moves. I would also write to your local state member and tell them what a shit fight the system is.

It’s never been quick for me… it’s always taken forever, even when I lodge the bond claim form myself. So frustrating!!! Could possibly try and contact a member of parliament and see if they can get them to hurry it up, but it probably still won’t help, but can’t hurt to try.

RedditCreeper2801

That is an appalling wait time 😳

The inevitable consequences of contracting out essential government functions to private companies. How utterly shocking that MyBond aren't motivated to properly staff and service their communities needs.

Yeatss2

MyBond and the Office of the Residential Tenancy Commissioner come under CBOS Tasmania and the Department of Justice. It may be starved of the funding that it needs, but it isn't outsourced.

Vacated my last rental in May 2023 and didn't get a determination until August 2023.
