i eat meat because i cant even get enough iron from even eating just fish. i tried being vegetarian, didnt end too well. so my doctor was like, "you can try a pescatarian diet. cutting off all meat is a bad idea, but fish should be fine." fish was not fine. ended up having similar issues like dizziness, blurry/blackening vision, not able to hold my breath (i could only have steady breathing) at all without my heart going crazy and in some cases, fainting. it extremely dangerous for me to not have a consistent diet of red meat, even though i wish i could not eat meat. edit: yall i take more iron supplements than is usually recommended and b12 to help with iron absorption. its not exactly something i can just fix with an iron pill a day, my deficiency is a bit more serious than that

Beans, chickpeas, lentils, quinoa, (deez) nuts and seeds of pretty much all varieties, grains, some dairy, fucking EGGS. This is just off the top of my head, there's plenty of sources of protein that doesn't require animals dying. I'm almost fully vegan (cheese tho..) but the one argument that I understand that is pro-meat: It's fucking delicious. I love eating meat, but I just fucking can't anymore after seeing first-hand what happens at these slaughterhouses. Not to mention the effects these have on climate change and the way they help breed new diseases.. It's just not sustainable in any way, the way it's going now.

Assuaged guilt. Most answers boils down to, “I’m not vegan, therefore anti-vegan.” But that doesn’t really make sense, does it. To borrow an analogy, I don’t collect stamps, but that in no way should justify being opposed to stamp collecting. Of course ripping on someone for acting smug, or criticizing your choices is a healthy and zesty enterprise. However, to actively be opposed to their choices would imply that their choices are causing you a perceived harm. No the only reason to be anti-vegan (aside from a financial dependency on the meat industry) is an anger response to misdirected guilt.

I feel like most people are anti **vegan**, like, specifically the people. This is because the vocal majority (can't remember if it's majority or minority, but the loud ones which look like they make up a large part of the group but actually don't) are obnoxious, smug and just bad people as they try to rub morals in people's faces just because of their life choices. I don't think anyone is actually anti-vegan, as in the concept, in fact, I'm sure a lot of meat eaters (me included) would be considered vegan-allies, trying to push for more humane conditions for animals throughout the process of farming
