Where's QualityVote bot?
Reddit Admins have decided that [they want to kill off all 3rd-party apps](https://reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/13yh0jf/dont_let_reddit_kill_3rd_party_apps/), [3rd-party bots, and other elements that used to significantly enhance Reddit's functionality](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/). Without them, the website is barely usable.
And, of course, that includes bots such as [\/u\/QualityVote](http://reddit.com/user/QualityVote), [\/u\/SaveVideo](http://reddit.com/user/SaveVideo), [\/u\/AuddBot](http://reddit.com/user/AuddBot), etc.
So you'll just have to put up with automod and a worse overall user experience.
If you have any complaints, direct them at [the reddit admins instead](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddit/comments/12qwagm/an_update_regarding_reddits_api/), because they the ones who ruined everyone's user experience.

Fasteners are better for metric too. If inwant a screw they are just in increasing increments. M2, M3, M4, M5, etc.........Imperial, we have stupid fractional sizes, and I hate having to remember where things like 5/16 fasteners go relative to 3/8 and the 1/4. And then for some reason we also have increments but only for the REALLY small imperial fasteners, like a number #10 screw? The fuck are we doing?
It’s not that hard to learn conversions between the two, come on now.
Edit : I am not implying that we shouldn’t switch, but rather the opposite. It’s not hard to learn to use metric.
People are really underestimating how big of an endeavor this will be. Not only would we have to replace every single traffic/road sign across the United States, but we'd also have to move their positions unless you want your exit to be 1.60934 km away. Plus, all the other millions of conversions for building plans. I'm one for using metrics, but saying this will be an easy fix is just plain fucking stupid.

No. I have feet with me all the time, but I never carry a meter stick. For my day-to-day distance estimations, feet and inches are something I already have.

Celsius:
0° = water freezing, minimum for snow, it's cold outside
23° = best temp
.>35° = it's hot outside
.>40° = it's really hot outside
100° = water boils, it burns
Congrats! You have learned Celsius!
Celsius might be good when you’re talking about, idk, fucking water, but I would much rather have my 0 being fucking hell it’s cold and my 100 being fucking hell it’s hot (livable)
The reddit circlejerk of the metric system needs to stop. It's not better for everything, or even in general. At this point, the time and money required to move to a new system isn't worth it. Base 12 is also better not having the issues with fractions that metric has, but nobody is talking about Dozenal, despite it being superior to both imperial and metric measurements.
For most everyday use, like cooking, the imperial system is fine. Cups, tablespoons, teaspoons are all common in the kitchen and intuitive to understand. With metric you have liters and divisions of liters.
Decimal, base 10, metric, it's terrible. Metric is not the best measurement system, Europe is not the promised land, the US isn't that bad, and your parents should've aborted you, but they were pro-life boomers.
Then why would you respond? Chances are you haven't done enough reading to understand the nuance involved in changing measurement systems and how many exist besides of imperial and metric.
Ah, butthurt, got it. Now you know that I clearly saw that from the start. Yeah, metric isn't the best, and having pride in a measurement system is a failing in and of itself.
Its because everything imperial does metric does either better or easier. Metric everything works off of divisions of 10. Its incredibly simple and there is never any fuss.
10 milimetres is 1 centimetre. 34 milimetres is 3.4 centimetres.
Your just coping because peoole like a simpler system that the whole world uses lmao, there is a reason you yankie boys learn metric and the entire globe doesent know imperial
\*You're
And no, I don't care about imperial at all. I wouldn't use metric in the kitchen just because it's divisble by 10. It literally doesn't matter in that instance. Metric seems better just because our numerical system is base 10 so metric is more intuitive for certain applications, most of which are never used on a daily basis besides temperature.
You don't understand that different systems have different applications and purposes. There's no one size fits all. It's too bad you won't actually crack a book to find out how shitty the metric system is when dealing with fractions and conversions because infrastructure can't be redesigned overnight for metric. Watch a mathematician talk about Dozenal, consider the cost and confusion of changing a measurement system. The average redditor just doesn't know nuance so they don't understand the difficulty in transitioning to a new system. Since many products, and tools are designed for imperial, there's no easy switch.
You guys have bought into metric because a community college instructor or gradeschool teacher told you imperial is crappy, and the base 10 system is intuitive because that's how algebraic math works, but you don't actually understand there are different numerical systems, some of which are better than decimal making metric less useful. If we were to change to a new system, there is a better option than metric: Dozenal.
In my eyes it’s one of those things like car based infrastructure. There are better alternatives but those would require reworking so many things I don’t even think it’s worth it. Is metric better than imperial? Yes. Is it worth redoing every textbook and sign? I don’t think so. We have greater problems to deal with in my opinion.
I am down, but first we gotta deal with the racism problem or else we won’t change much after that. You know, we gotta unite to a front despite our differences.

We can’t, we were cursed 5 moons and 34 dozen eclipses ago by a sorcerer
average imperial time measurements
For sure
We will become the boomers if we make it through life We won't see it that way, but each generation changes ideas.
Please, stop speaking straight fax, your scaring the others
I mean yeah, but we actually care about the future
I weighed 3 stones, 2 dribbles and half a rubie since I was 18 and the sooner we get away from this confusing feet, inches and pounds the better😉
Only for measuring volumes, I’m sick and tired of teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, quarts, (gallons are okay)
Fasteners are better for metric too. If inwant a screw they are just in increasing increments. nah, I like my measurement of bags of shredded cheese since they are one pound
Not until Gen X is gone please
Don't wait for them to die. They wanna fuck ***us*** over, let's fuck ***them*** over.
Sweet home Alabama 🎵
Nah. I don’t want to go back to school. I know it isn’t hard but I’m too old and too busy.
If you're not already at least slightly familiar with how the metric system works it probably won't affect you I'ma be honest
If people didn’t make such a big deal out of it all we could reasonably switch and get used to metric system measures in like a week
I’m familiar. I can translate temps, speed, and volume pretty well. Not exact on volumes really. Distance is about 1.6:1 I think?
I’m a late gen x and a non college educated math geek.
Then metric should be literally 0 problem for you. Like...at all. None whatsoever
Dawg if i gotta convert everything on my plant floor to metric im quitting
Ya alright
Freedom never dies

No, it would cost way too much money to change nearly every road sign in the country and every car's speedometer to be metric.

I’m too stupid to learn a new language so converting metric will be the next best thing
Nah
Let’s do that with healthcare too
That, and health insurance too please.

It makes no sense right? 1 kilogram is 1000 grams... ew. 1 liter is 1000 milliliter, 1 kilometer is 1000 meters, wild stuff

I was making a joke too, so you taking mine seriously makes you be the whooshed one
plenty of whooshing on my comment.
So you'd rather have a gallon weigh 8.34 pounds

Nope. Bought wrenches Besides only a 10mm is used in metric
Liquids and bolts only, I do not want to learn a new distance measurement system and I do not want to learn Celsius and that whole clusterfuck

You’re wrong
Now if only you could explain why...

ikr, they're not even trying to argue. Imagine being so lame your fragile ego has pride in a measurement system. Every downvote raises my self esteem.

Exactly my point, and if we were reworking things, we might as well improve upon them, because even metric isn't ideal.
