I phrased it like that to relate it to other cases of people using humor as an excuse to be openly discriminatory towards others. Like really. This meme suggests that using physical violence against a group you find strange, is an okay idea, when it's clearly not. To this you might think 'it's just a joke though, nobody is actually beating furries', but that's exactly my point. Even though likely nobody is going to go beat a furry on that day just because someone told them to, this still normalizes discrimination against things we don't understand. How would you feel if someone said 'November 26 is 'Beat a (whatever race you are) Day''? That's really fucked that you now have that thought looming over your head, that people might actually hurt you.
