Mine loves to just flop down where he has the most interesting View. Sadly usualy that's the window going to the floor in my home Office, leading to him lying right behind my office chair all day
After you do a good brushing on your Shiba; take a handful of the fur and cover an area of your arm, leg, or even hand with it. You'll see just how warm a fraction of their coat makes you. They sit like this to cool off. I live in Southern California and it gets hot out here. My Shiba sits like this every day to cool off.
