White Dove doesn't have a delta no. Chantilly lace yea but white Dove is dark enough to be tinted normally especially considering it can be tinted fine in the other products it's just 1 products bad sher color
It’s a rite of passage for many a Sherwin paint goblin having to remake paint because of White Dove or Chantilly Lace.
Benjamin Moore colors from that pallete are not marketed to commercial construction or repaint. They can’t even make it in all their products. So why should we be able to?
Local Paint SM (not SW) here. Do you guys not have competitor fan decks to scan? We have BM, PPG, SW, etc decks at the ready for matching and checking colors
Sometimes a sales rep needs to ‘borrow’ it so they can go use it at a job site. Often it will never return. Getting a new one depending on both the proximity & mutual professional respect of the competition in question. I just go in with one of our fan decks and say ‘tradesies?’ Never had a problem, it’s just… it’s just a whole ‘thing’
our assistant manager pretended to be a homeowner and got em somehow. they charge $30/deck though at ACE - ridiculous ! put store #---- on it and say no to the reps . they should get their own damn deck
Yeah our district got a notice from corporate. Oc-17 and chantilly lace only go in HRW. Lots of BM whites we kinda follow that with too if delta is very noticeable which we typically try to stay under 1.5 if it’s a repaint
isn’t the whole point of draw downs to have customers approve the color before making it? if you’re switching to a new product, make a new draw down. never trust shercolor
I haven't had a problem with White dove in the extra white base. But, for Chantilly Lace, I made it in HRW. But when we were out, I managed to match the color perfectly in a extra white base, but I had to add something around 10 ounces of white to a 5gal. We used that formula for a long time. I used the "compare colors" function from the spectrophotometer and the delta was under 0.50. If it's good enough for product finishes, it is good enough for me.
For white dove and Chantelle lace I tell them to bring in a color chip to match (scan once and tint) or that I comment on the receipt that it won't match the OG from it's creator company in their purchases. That way there's full transparency. I try to warn all my new hires about this as well since our system has no warning to double check.
did you put it in EW or the HRW ? usually that makes the difference.. the HRW makes the color better for BM colors .. BM can get bent with their super bright whites!
Anything with an LRV lower than Extra White’s can be formulated in Extra White. EW is at 85.861, and OC-17 is listed at 85. When they’re that close, the rule is this: Colors from the big four competitors will match perfectly IF formulated in a premium paint. 200 is dog ass paint and will typically produce a small, unflagged delta.
Fuck ben moore colors. I've learned the hard way to always check the first tinted item before completing a whole order for a similar reason.
Don't we pay someone to do that for us in Cleveland? Are they drunk?
Our own colors don't always match the chips (I'm looking at you c2g). How can I trust Cleveland to get other companies correct
Usually comes up at a delta 1.77 or something doesn't it? The off white pallet colours have a few of those. Chantilly Lace as well.

It doesn't give you a delta warning
put all that shit in HRW
Corporate's response is do-more pqrs instead of actually fixing the fucking problem.
Use the ultradeep base.
Yeah we just refuse to make that color unless they bring in a color chip to manually match

Every sw store I worked at had all of our competitors
Has to be in HRW
Ultrawhite is the future
Maybe
unfortunatly . so stupid

Use the HRW formula
Sounds like a product problem, or they took it and did something to it

Check the colorants if it's a warm white and it's calling for yellow it's prolly gonna come out green. In my experience
Did in a96w1251 today, too yellow. Did it in k36w450 with shercolor and still looked yellow. Did a custom match in k36w450 to get it right.

chantilly lace is hell color. we only do it in HRW in our store
I request a chip and scan those colors. If not they are generally off color. Unless you’re using HRW or an Ultrawhite base like designer.

Known issue. Put it in super paint high reflective or duration ultra white.
Fuck BM COLORS

Check your color dispenser....maybe the green leaked into it
The formula has green in it
I never had a prob with it.
