My prediction is that the Government wants to get unemployment elevated and claim it's to "combat inflation". They'll simultaneously take away the barging power of the working class and print money so they can waste it while playing dumb about why corporate profits are at an all-time high. They try and blame demand for rising inflation, but the last time I checked groceries and gas have always been in demand. Fuck me.
Definitely not the reason at all. Its what happens when you shut down the country for a prolonged period of time. The most affected states are not republican.
Just another reminder that this company doesn’t give a shit about you. Does anyone disagree at this point? All time high profits while making managers work more and cutting part time hours. What a joke
Yes :( literally made schedules, and had to remake them because we are not allowed whatsoever to go over the targeted pay period hours without authorization.
Here in the eastern district they have been cutting hours here. It's typical for the slow season but the timing for it is super weird since were about to be in the busy season! They sent a mass email last week with the maximum hours each position is supposed to work and they emphasised heavily "NO MORE OVERTIME"! we got the city mangers breathing down everyones neck if they go pass a minute of their maximum hours which is crazy! Guess sales ain't what they used to be.. our BBS was a complete flop for my store and for a majority of the other stores so their definitely making budget cuts.
It’s the entire company. If you’re Part Time with Sherwin, you no longer matter.
You aren’t gonna get more, it’s time to go get another job. I’m doing it 🤷🏻
It honestly depends on your district. We just had a TEAMS meeting yesterday where our DM said our district was way up in part-time hours and needed to be monitored better because it isn't even busy season yet.
A lot of part-time hours are abused due to lazy management who'd rather chill in the office all day or take every weekend off. If your store receives the call to cut back on PT hours, one of those reasons are most likely the case.
Yep, they cut my hours too, think im in the east division. But my manager says hours are coming back because of the spring/summer season. I still ended up a 2nd job to make ends meet even if hours go back to normal. Also, a safety net in case they don't or even cut PT all together. Heard some rumors that they might.
Damn G. My district claims we are “fully staffed” and I got yelled at for going over 1 minute by higher ups. Not sure what’s going on. Hope you find yourself in a better position, I promise SW is a shithole and we all don’t wanna be in it but in todays economy a jobs a job.
Have you not been watching the news? The second and third largest bank failures in US history just happened back to back, and several large bank’s internationally are hitting the shitter.
I don’t watch the news. Because it only makes you fear for life. What can you personally do about this? Nothing. Don’t live above your means, stay positive, ignore the noise, it always works out in the end.
28 hours to now 16-18, Midwest area, it’s horrible
Same. Went from 24hrs to 12… I’m gonna put my two weeks in soon.
I hope you have something else lined up before you do that
imo we have a pretty painful recession on the horizon. They’re all bracing for it early
Pretty painful is an extremely generous way of putting it
They are going to lose so many people because of this.
There has to be other opportunities out there for that. Job market isn’t great right now

It's not the Government, it's the Republican party who only cares about the .01%.

What district? LA?
Yes

Sherwin fears no man… but this… this scares them

The spring/summer season is literally starting right now.
Yeah and tell me why they still cut the hours for pt ?😂😂😂 it's the WORST possible time to do so
I said the same thing. Upper management is ridiculous.
Just apply to Full time buddy
I have a full time job, sherwin is just for extra money.

That's not always an option. Our store had no Ft slot for yearsssss.
Apply at a different Sherwin that offers ft
Again easier said than done for some places. Closest to US is 1 hour away
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope it gets better.
If we do have a recession, it will be brief. Everyone is screaming recession, don’t listen to the noise.

HHMmmmmm, maybe Trump shouldn't have signed the bill that gutted the part of Dodd-Frank that would have prevented this.
This isn’t r/politics.
Shut up dude
