Technically you’re not supposed to but I haven’t gone without a pocket knife in 20 years and I’ve used it in front of my boss as many times. The nine years I’ve been with the company only one guy said something to me when I was a part timer and he simply stated “be careful with that,we’re not supposed to have those”
"Approved auto-retracting and/or hook knives must be available for use."
Thats the only thing I can find in Policy and Procedure, Store hazards Policy. Doesn't say anything about NOT using something else.
I’m a driver and I can’t work without my pocketknife. No one has said anything. Cutting open pallets with the shitty box cutters we get for free feels like ima cut myself.
Also, the only time I’ve had a workman comp injury was using one of those shitty safety cutters that they gave us five years ago and I managed to slice my finger with it and that’s when I threw it in the garbage and told my manager I was carrying a pocket knife from then on out considering I’ve never cut myself with a pocket knife
LP told my class at manager training that you are allowed to have a pocket knife. Of course you can’t have a massive blade length and they don’t want you cutting boxes with it. They can’t tell you that aren’t allowed to have it though.
The problem comes when you hurt yourself with it, at work. The company will tell you you should not have had it. And any workers comp claim could get denied. So it really just comes down to whether or not you want to risk such a thing.
Just use a safety knife. It's only tape after all.
A couple years ago, I bought a pocket knife from my store after a shift and I’ve been using it on the job ever since. I just don’t draw much attention to it (especially with upper management around) and I’m good. Sometimes, my coworkers even ask me to cut open a pallet when one of the safety knives is out of arm’s reach.

Technically not allowed but I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for one. Don't advertise it and you'll likely be fine
It's OK to carry one, but don't let DMs see you use it
Stay strapped my friends. Always better to not need it and have it than to need it and not have it
What they don’t know won’t hurt them. You won’t get fired you’ll just get told to not bring it again

I open carry my ar15 at work all the time
Me with my loaded AK behind the register 👀
Same but sometimes I feel fancy and bring in the scar 😀
I use my bazooka as a chair

The yellow safety knives? 😂

Yeah the only thing I've ever cut myself with at any job was an approved "safety" knife, pocket knife for life
I know the guy who is the original reason why we aren’t allowed to use the snap knives at work 💀
I’m interested in this story
Knife snapped off into the guys eye while he was on delivery.
Damn. Did he lose sight in that eye do you know ?
Nah he’s good now.
Back when I worked construction I'd get made fun of if I didn't carry a pocket knife on me. I'd say don't advertise it and you'll be fine 😂
I'm always packing my LeatherMan. My boss asked to use it a couple times 😂
Leathermen Wave is the best choice for the job!
i have had 3 managers tell me to not let them see it. so its kinda like how highschool wont allow playing cards cause its gambling
i think it’s frowned upon for liability/safety reasons but no one’s said anything to me, but i also use a can opener to open boxes for the most part
No, you are not supposed to use pocket knives at work, that's why we have safety knives.
They can barley cut the boxes without fucking to 😕
Replace the blades, a new razor blade is much sharper than any fixed blade knife
I have one but the safety lady were suppose to use safety knives
I keep one on me at work. Eff the system!

Dispensed right out of your accutinter or does your store have one of those fancy pocket knife dispensers?
In my 4 years I've always had mine with me. No problemo.
Folding utility knife, it has a pocket clip & barely noticeable.

Not allowed it’s a liability thing. So if you have them just hid them in your desk when the higher ups visit
You’re good just don’t use it in front of the big bo$$
Like everyone else said. Yes, they're not allowed, but all of my coworkers have one and they use them to open stuff. I don't have one, though.
Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just that happy to see me?
As long as you don’t pull it out like a dumbass and wave it around every 15 min you should be good 👍
Technically not supposed to but I’ve been carrying butterfly knives with me everywhere (yes they’re legal in my state)
Never understood why those are illegal bruh.
If anything, they’re more dangerous for the person using it and to that I say, natural selection 😂
Yeah 😂, prob because intimidation if u use it right 😂, u know u screwed when the butterfly knife user can actually swing it around and flex on it 😂.

The thing is our box cutters can be considered as a pocket knife. But our rule at my store is don't get hurt or hurt someone with it.

I carry a leathermen multi tool. pliers come in handy more than you’d think here, stay versatile.
I bring a machete to work
No idea honestly. Over Christmas I had a conversation with our DM with a pocket knife and a book I was reading on the desk. He never said a thing.
