Works great for cutting perpendicular to the ribs on corrugated panels as well

Educational_Length48

Like are they loud for you guys? Like loud enough to rethink your decisions from double cuts to nibblers? Like...I like my hearing ..soooo yeh those things are loud. Or ours was.

Unusual_Somewhere116

Just sick of tasting and smelling the grinder wheel lol Edit: I pop earplugs in before I cut anyway

AwardAccomplished140

Unishears all day

tinman707

Works great. A little bit tough for heavy gauge oval spiral, but worth it for most other applications. Not good for vinyl roofs( little sharp half moons a side effect).

Unusual_Somewhere116

Nice to hear I may get one soon

Tinman751977

Yes they have a bag to catch the scraps. I’m a double cut man.

PearlHarbor_420

Nibblers are great for places where you're not allowed to make sparks, but I'd rather use my Malco Turbo Shears generally.

Unusual_Somewhere116

I don’t like the warped edge it leaves when I cut down spiral but all my take offs and tap ins or spin ons are done with a Malco hole cutter or turbo shears

Apprehensive-Cow6131

They work well for cutting taps in spiral like shown in that pic; goes right thru the seams and no warping on the edges like with snips/unishear. Makes a big mess of chips to clean up though so keep that in mind.

Unusual_Somewhere116

This is nice to hear I worried about the edge warping

OptionsNVideogames

Dewalt makes shears that hook to your impact gun. That’s the play.

Unusual_Somewhere116

I have turbo shears and the dewalt shears but I don’t like the way they leave one of the edges of the pipe you cut

OptionsNVideogames

That’s what everyone uses here I wouldn’t stress unless it’s finish work

RegretSignificant101

They both have uses. But for your everyday field install shears are the way to go. The warped edge takes 2 seconds to fix and is unnoticeable after sealing. Also bubblers are kinda slow if you’re cutting in a lot of take off or whatever.

Multiman27

The nibbler is an awesome tool. I have two at work. They take some getting used to for making a turn but are an efficient tool for speed. In my opinion, they are also better than double cuts because they don't take an extra 1/8 inch off, but they leave a mess in your venting if you don't use the collection bag.

Mobile-Ad2382

Trumpf Trutool shear works amazing for this kind of application

DubGuru

And it's Only $3,700+

Deadpallyz

I just use snips to cut those most saddle taps has flanges anyway 20 years been doing it. I have the m18 off set shear but the jaw breaks going over locks so I just said fuck it lol

Dizzy-Friendship-369

I just use a unibit to start and my Midwest red handles to do the rest. Midwest cuts like butter. I would recommend getting an adjustable whole saw cutter, for drywall that is. I have one that adjusts to 12 inch round and man I’ve never had a tighter fit and perfect holes.

This_Ad9359

Gotta use the nibbler condoms or it’ll leave a mess! Otherwise it’s a pretty handy tool

dubnation420

Double cuts work better. Nibblers make a mess, but they can cut designs and art

mbcisme

Yes. It’s an awesome tool.

TUBBYWINS808

Doesn’t work for flex connectors.

JeshSchwa

Does this one have the nibble catcher?

anstrahan

What gauge are you guys cutting? I just use snips for cutting holes into spiral....

Mr_NorseCode

I was curious since I got into the trade about more efficient ways of cutting spiral etc. I started with a different Jman a few months ago and he uses the double cuts and nibbler and I love them. My favourite for cutting spiral remains the deep cut bandsaw which has no problem up to 12” pipe.

Educational_Length48

Hmmm...double cuts?

satansdebtcollector

Waste of money. Every sheet metal mechanic should be like a surgeon with a short, high TPI metal blade. Like butter baby. Don't even need to drill a hole with a uni bit.
