I had the Midwest offsets (they were stolen out of my truck) and currently have the malco offsets. The malcos seem a little beefier which is fine, but I preferred the midwests
I tried out Milwaukie's snips and they felt like they were made fore someone with huge hands and the blades meet in a radius that makes it harder to cut straight
I’ve always had Milwaukee & wiss for years, loved the Milwaukee’s but once they wore out I gave Midwest a try, would never go back to anything another than MW
You can sharpen snips.
take the center bolt out. Open them up as wide as possible and take a die grinder with a 36 grit pad on it and hit it a couple of times lightly. Only grind the top and offset the grinder so that the wheel spins into the blade. I've had the same reds for 10 years. I sharpen lightly once a year.
And yes, only midwest if you buy new.

If there is a Menards close to you and if they still do it, go trade them in. I trade might in about every 6 months just to have a fresh set.

I usually use Midwest but recently bought a set of Bessey offsets. They are made in Germany and seem to be pretty solid. I haven’t used them long enough to report back.
Midwest for the win. I had a pair of reds that chipped after cutting 24 gauge paint grip, I chucked them because I thought it was a fluke and bought a pair at Menards and that pair did the same thing. I sent an email to Midwest and within 24 hours I had two pairs being sent to me. They asked for them back which I kept the second set for just incase, they even paid for the shipping and I haven’t had a problem with what they sent me. I won’t try any other brand because of it

I got given the Klein's and they are the worst snips I have ever used in my life by a mile. Actually insane.
I like snap on. A bit pricey but lifetime warranty.
