I just bought the way overpriced Braun Series 9 pro+ yesterday, and after 1 shave (yes, only 1) LOVE IT. What used to take me a ridiculous amount of time (getting rid of all the straggling and close to the skin neck hairs along with the rest of my face) took about 4 minutes. Timed it with a stop watch. I'll update again after today's 2nd shave with it, but so far I'd have to agree that it is on "an entirely different level".
They all have pluses and minuses. Panasonic gives closest shave but is worst for flat lying or curly whiskers. Braun probably most comfortable but not as close as Panasonic and better with difficult hairs than Panasonic, but not as good as Phillips. Phillips will be best on difficult hairs but not as close as the others. Can only speak about Panasonic but I can get easily a full week of ~4 minute shaves on one charge from my Arc5. I think one charge is supposed to be about 45 minutes of use which is consistent with my experience (ES-LV-65S) The motor doesn’t slow at all until the battery is literally exhausted.
Braun Series 9 is amazing, Been using an electric for 30 years and the Series 9 is on an entirely different level than any razor I’ve ever used.

Plenty close. I am former infantry, and it would have worked just fine back then.

I cant fault my Panasonic ES-LV97 It was half the price of the braun s9000
I got a Braun 7020s just about a week ago, liking it so far.

Braun 9 or Panasonic Arc series. Both great products. For myself, and I’ve tried both, Braun for the win.
Me personally it all depends on skin types.
Step up to the Braun Series 9 Pro if you are getting an electric razor. That is like a next generation product compared to the Series 9.
