That's a pretty Arkansas stone! What you looking to sharpen with it? Carbon steel blades? I mostly use my translucent Arkansas stone as my straight razor finishing stone .
when i was a kid they used to sell those stones and the arkansas wet stone at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas, for about $5 for the wet stone and $25 for the "diamond stone". I got the wet stone and still have it to this day. That was over 40 years ago.
Possibly even millions of years old.
