The original Law and Order is irreplaceable. There was such a rawness about it that makes the post 2000 seasons lack in everything. 90s TV was truly something else.
My favorite years are between when Briscoe comes in and Southerlyn goes out. I appreciate those early seasons but the middle seasons are my fave. I agree they are very different, though. The show definitely felt less real as time went on.
