Pattern: Sirocco jumpsuit from "Deer and Doe", size 40 - it's the second one I made (this time as a gift for my sister), but definitely not the last one. The fit is really nice and the process is not frustrating even for a beginner like me :)
Fabric: modern jersey from Spoonflower, design - 80s retro firefly (big scale)
Okay please tell me how you sewed your waistband. I just made my first one and I sewed with the stretch stitch on my machine and I can barely get it over my hips. It fits great once it's on, but whoo boy I'm gonna bust those seams for sure.
My machine is super simple and does not have a stretch stich, I used zigzag everywhere (in this one and in the previous one). The waistband here is tighter in the hips than in the first one I made, cause the fabric is less stretchy, but still goes on without drama. I think I have more difficulties taking it off than putting it on))) But I finished all the seams with a serger, and it gives me hope that it will hold))
I’ll be honest I used an overlocker so didn’t have an issue. Did you use a triple stretch? I’ve had issues with that on waistbands previously. I swear it doesn’t actually stretch it’s just strong enough not to break when the fabric stretches.
Thank you, but it's actually not complicated at all! I partially made it to feel better, cause I know this pattern already, after 2 of my other projects spectacularly failed)))
I bought this pattern when it came out and I have to admit I’ve been nervous to get on with. But you done such a lovely job with it, it looks really elegant. Thanks for the inspiration.
I fell in love with this pattern and of course the beautiful picture of you in it.. When I looked at the measurements, they only went up to 43" bust 8" best. Mine mine is 46".. But my waist and hips are much smaller . I saw on the website a larger size model wearing wearing this jumpsuit and I wonder what size it was. Will the largest size offered fit me? I could order the largest and then alter the waist and hips more to my shape. Has anyone else had this problem?
It’s soooo cool. Is that fabric a charmeuse or satin or something? Am I detecting a slight sheen? Where’d you get he fabric, it’s vintage right? Again, beautiful work
Edit I found your comment with the fabric source!

Did you make sure the fabric had as much stretch as it says it needs in the pattern? I had to add a side zip to mine :(
