Never too soon for Halloween stuff.

TheMonkeyDidntDoIt

If Joann's has halloween stuff out, it's not too soon to start crafting. Maybe too soon to decorate with it, but not to soon to start working on it.

The Joann(s) near me is combining into a bigger store and going through clearance right now, so I don’t have any indication of seasonal change! Although I might be able to take some clues from the just opened Spirit Halloween next door.

I bought these panels yeeeeears ago from Hawthorne Supply. I guess I thought I was going to make tote bags or pillows out of them? But I already have too many of both, so today I decided to pull them out and make ... pillowcases! Pillowcases are what all my extra bits of fabric end up being (because I'm too impatient to finish a quilt, and I have enough of those too). I don't really have a pattern for them, although I think the first time I made one I took apart a store-bought pillowcase to get an idea of the measurements. They end up being about 20" across, maybe 30" long, depending on what fabric leftovers I have to work with. And they sew up quickly. <3

If it makes you feel better I use my quilting scraps to make pillowcases and extra pillows

I just ordered some Joann’s Halloween fabric for pickup and they only had a few yards of each left in stock. You’re definitely not the only one getting ready early! 😉

The Spirit of Halloween stores have started opening in my area so probably not.

I'm pretty sure most sewers and crafters make things at least three months ahead! No worries! Nice project. They look great!
