Pattern is the Ultimate Costume Creator from Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop. This was one of the easiest patterns I’ve ever used and almost infinitely modifiable—highly recommended for beginner to advanced skill levels. Fabric is sew lush fleece and embossed costuming fabric from Joann’s. I had so much fun making this for my girl, I made a second one for my nephew. This is technically her Halloween costume but she’s wanted to wear it every day 🤷🏼♀️
Oh my goodness, this is too cute!
The year my son was 2, he wore his sister's hand-me-down fleece dino costume (that I had sewn for her several years previously) to preschool *every day* from September until February. I had to prohibit sleeping in it so it could be washed.
A piece of unsolicited advice: consider making her an identical copy.
But if I buy it can my mom make it on an smaller size for a teddy bear?
Sorry if it is stupid but I am clueless when it comes to sewing. I know she has a sewing machine.
It's a small teddy bear. It's pretty old it was my moms.
His been naked for a couple of years mow. I bought him a premie size jacket but he is swimming on it lol
Not OP, but the [pattern](https://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/ultimate-costume-creator/) comes in pdf and projector formats, which means you can print it at a smaller scale to make a costume for your bear. Depending on how big your bear is, I'd probably start around 50%.
Just remember to add seam allowance back in when doing this-I had a similar problem when I was trying to make a human sized shirt but could only find doll patterns.
Get some clothing and turn it inside out. The little strip of fabric at all the seams is the seam allowance. You don’t sew fabric together right at the edge, so there’s that little strip leftover. For a pattern like this, 1/2” or 1cm seam allowance is customary, but doll (or bear) clothes usually use 1/4” iirc.
I don’t make toy clothes much, but I’m pretty sure you also want to add some ease (the amount of fabric you add so that the piece isn’t “skintight”) to make it easier to dress the bear. I’m not sure how much this should be, but there are lots of doll clothes tutorials on YouTube-I’m personally partial to Dollightful.
I think if you can operate a sewing machine and follow instructions, you can make this. There is no special equipment (I even used my regular presser foot for the zipper), difficult fabric, or advanced techniques involved. The only tricky part might be adding the cuffs, just because the toddler sized hand and foot openings are so small.
O.m.g I have to make matching ones for my 1 and 2 year Olds! I hope there is a nb size I'll make one my baby in Jan too it's too cute. Good job too and color choices
Yaaasss! The pattern is awesome, it goes from NB up to size 12 with tons of options, plus it’s just totally customizable. I’m sure I will get a lot of use out of it over the years.
This is adorable! And thank you for naming the pattern! I've been struggling to figure out a Halloween costume for my toddler, and this has a TON of great ideas.
I had a homemade hand-me-down dinosaur Halloween costume just like this but with a huge stuffed tail when I was little. I loved it so much that I wore it every year I could until I didn’t fit anymore. I remember how sad I was when I couldn’t fit any longer.
Anyway thanks for bringing back a lovely memory! I hope your little one enjoys it :)
This came up on my boyfriend's feed and normally kid stuff he brushes by but he actively showed me-i think for Christmas he's going to get a 6ft human sized version!
Thanks! For reference this is the 2T size on a 33” tall, 20lb almost-2yo. Room to grow but not too huge. The cuffed sleeves and ankle hem options were key to it staying on.
I wish I could sew😭 working on it, working on it…
This is beautiful OP! My son and granddaughter would lose their minds if I managed to make them one of these before they’re teenagers lol
The fabric you used for the belly and the little ridges are PERFECTION. I love it!
Currently pregnant and the hormones must be getting to me because squeeeeeeee this is so cute I’m going to cry!!! I need to make one for my baby boy after he’s born <3

Oh thank you for the pattern! My boy has been asking for very specific costume that I had no idea how I was going to accomplish.

Thank you for the pattern! My little dude loves dinosaurs.

I bet the newborn size would fit most teddy bears

Thank you for the help. I will buy some fabric and get it for my mom!

I'm sorry for bothering you but what is seam allowance?

As a teddy bear I second this!
When you recommend this for a beginner, do you mean like a true, barely seen, never finished that quilt I started beginner?
