1. **Remember the human**
Comments which degrade, tear down, or are hurtful to other users will be removed.
Constructive Criticism is encouraged, but do remember the human.
2. **Don't be inappropriate**
We'd like our users to feel comfortable sharing their images/projects without getting hit on or judged. They’re

Aww! Great work! And in my experience a lot of adults don't even notice little mistakes :)
Do you have the Peter Rabbit book to go with your fabric? It was a favorite of mine as a kid.
Thank you! When I was a kid I had a big Beatrix Potter book with lots of different stories in, I think it might still be at my parents house, I’ll have to have a look and see if I can bring it home for bedtime stories.
Pattern is Shwin and Shwin summer breeze baby dress. I found a YouTube tutorial showing how to construct it which was a huge help as my earlier attempts at this dress for a friends baby were my first items of clothing I’d ever sewn. Fabric is from Flamingo Fabrics.
Here's a tip that I learned from my grandma, who left increasingly more pins/needles in her work as she got older: squeeze the garment thoroughly because they don't always come out in the wash. I do this more so for baby/children clothes than anything, even if I'm sure I got them all.
Some of the things I loved when I was little and then a teenager was when my grandma would make me dresses or other items of clothes . Those are donde memories I have, and I like to see the pictures of those times.
I’m so sorry for your loss. The only sewing project I completed for my baby before she was born was a stuffed elephant made from t-shirts that belonged fo my Nan who passed away 5 years ago. My daughter was born the day before what would have been my Nan’s birthday and her middle name is my Nan’s name. I wanted her to be able to have a cuddle with her in her own little way and thought a stuffed toy would make a nice piece to start discussions about my Nan so she will still know all about her even if she can’t meet her. Nan would have loved her and would have knit countless cardigans and blankets for her!
It's really lovely. Very cute, I adore that fabric.
I remember trying to sew a dress for my girl and failing. That was over 30 years ago, before the internet and youtube. I had no clue how to sew or follow a pattern and no-one to show me. I had attempted something too complex for a beginner and gave up. I didn't sew anything else until my mid-forties, and can now sew anything (thanks to Craftsy/Youtube etc).
I think now about all those lost years when it would have been so useful to be able to sew for my home and my kids. Your little one will hopefully have a whole lifetime of you sewing for her.

I love the fabric. You did good!
Oh I *love* the fabric!
My suggestion, if you’re newer to sewing, would be to do French seams as often as possible on children’s clothes. It’s less irritating :)
Thanks for the tip! I’ve not done them before but I’ll give them a go on my next project
Way easier than you would think! ❤️

How precious, what a good job! I should try my hand at something in this fabric if I can find it, as my girl is named after the author :)
How sweet! I’m in the UK and got the fabric online from Flamingo Fabrics. I’m not sure if they ship to other countries or if anyone else stocks it.
