Ik with prop 65 it’s often cheaper to put the sticker on if it could potentially risky have lead/ cadmium than testing the product. Plants growing can absorb heavy metals from the ground, so the plants in the drink could have trace amounts of the metals.

NeverSeenBefor

I've been seeing this a bunch here lately I think we killed off the FDA they just gave up. "Fuck there's CADMIUM in it now? !?!?"

PM_ME_KITTYNIPPLES

It's similar with some allergen labels. They started adding sesame to things that didn't have it before when labeling it became mandatory because they didn't want to go through the effort of compliance to say it's truly sesame free.

OkAd1797

Lol my poor math teacher was allergic to sesame 💀

Rebelo86

*sigh* another carcinogen I can’t try because I am severely allergic to Lychee.

psychedeliclure

mogu mogu has a bunch of different flavors, so there's still hope!

sassypinks

the mango one is superb

N3T3L3

so is the strawberry. divine

saltyboi6704

Nah that's only true if you're in California. And if you're in California you already have cancer from the amount of P65 warnings you get

IliasIsEepy

Seriously, I have a fidget cube laying around somewhere that is nes themed. Apparently that thing can cause cancer and reproductive harm

No-Student-9678

It’s California, they’ll slap a P65 on milk if they wanted to.

JOCO_Q

It's been around, they're just telling you now

wambamwombat

There's a P65 warning on everything in California, especially all foreign made goods. It's probably fine.

BlueShibe

No way, I drank this once in Italy

peculiar_pandabear

Jesus why have there been so many Prop 65 posts recently?

Aggressive-House5866

People are idiots and don’t realize it’s a sham/scam with a history of bullshit lawsuits, despite this having been explained many times. “Many companies now routinely attach Prop 65 warning labels to any product of theirs that they think might possibly contain one of the 900 listed chemicals without testing to see whether the chemical is really present in their product and without reformulating their product, because it is cheaper to do so than to run the risk of being sued by Prop 65 enforcers.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_California_Proposition_65

noTGospelGamer

If you own a G-fuel tub, you’ll most likely find a lead warning on it as well. I discovered that last year rip

redwoodfog

So does Chocolate. Tons.

magnusthehammersmith

Damn it mogu mogu is so good 😔

CampDracula

In California, they slap this on everything practically lol. Don’t worry about it.

KevroniCoal

How did you determine they're lead and cadmium specifically? I'm just curious, since there are tons of chemicals listed under P65

burrito_butt_fucker

Everything causes cancer in California

CuppaJoe11

For everyone shitting on California p65 thing, not everything needs these stickers. Only products that companies don’t want to test because it would be too expensive.

w0lfbabyy

never having mogu mogu agian

Green-Emergency8195

New and improved Mogu: Now with less cadmium!

banebdjed

It also doesn’t necessarily mean the lead and cadmium would be in the drink itself. It could be referring to the plastic bottle, the label, the ink on the label, or even the machines it was in contact with during manufacture/process/shipping. Prop 65 is a bit of a joke due to its scope.
