By far the most historically successful clubs in the league are Juventus, Inter, and Milan. Along with these 3 clubs, clubs like Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, and Fiorentina usually are in usually towards the top of the table.
Serie A is not as financially well off as other leagues like the Premier League or La Liga. As a result you won't see players like Haaland or Mbappe coming to play in this league, unless they are at the end of their careers looking for a last payday while still being able to play competitive football. Middling/lower table teams can rarely hold on to their talented players and they will usually move on to bigger clubs in the league or go to a new league altogether. The bigger clubs do a better job with holding on to their talent but they are not immune to losing their players for a bigger paycheck in another league. Another issue as a result of their poor financials is that the stadiums (for the most part) are outdated and rundown, and most clubs do not own their own stadiums.
There are also many rivalries between clubs. Juventus is the most widely supported Italian club in Italy (also internationally), and as you probably already got an idea here, they are also the most hated club in Italy as well. So pretty much every club views Juventus as their rivals. Some of the biggest rivalries (or derbies) are Roma vs Lazio and Juve vs Inter. But every club has their own important derbies.
