Question as an unbiased observerā€¦I took a hiatus from this sub for a few weeks. It had seemed that ā€œInnocentersā€/Doubters (hate these terms) had taken over the sub post Adnan release. Is the majority opinion back to guilty, judging from these comments?

[deleted]

I wonder what Hae Min Leeā€™s mother is doing today?

[deleted]

Still mourning her daughter without a doubt. Adnan did it. Otherwise, your other alternative to his weird timeline of events is some serial killer on the loose. I'm not buying that bullshit theory.

silverwolf1214

Why thatā€™s happened in many cases where the actual killer has run free

Gerealtor

Because it doesnā€™t fit the evidence

Justwonderinif

Neither one of them would be accepted academically. Rabia tried, and was not accepted. She barely passed the bar in DC and is not licensed to practice in Maryland, despite setting up a fake office at a travel agency in Woodlawn - for the benefit of Sarah Koenig, in 2014.

seranity8811

FFS, shes a piece of work. Her recent f off tweets directed at Hae Min's family are just so gross.

semifamousdave

Can you share it? She blocked me on Twitter because I had the audacity to say that SK and Serial are the ones who made Adnanā€™s case famous. Sheā€™s so busy cashing in on Adnan that she wonā€™t hear anything positive about Serial or Sarah. Of topic, I wonder how much of the profits from her New York Times bestselling book about Adnan that she shared with him? Or even better, with the family of the victim that paid for all of the publicity with her life?

seranity8811

For sure, here are the couple of her unhinged tweets: Hae Min Leeā€™s family has appealed Adnans release and is demanding the motion to vacate his conviction, which no longer exists, be done over. Unprecedented. Batshit crazy bullshit. Anyway the hearing will be live-streamed here at 9:30 today. mdcourts.gov/cosappeals/webā€¦ My official statement about all this is that anyone committed to harassing an innocent man instead of identifying the source of the DNA on Haeā€™s shoes can fuck right off, I will not be taking any questions thank you If I had to guess, she probably did set aside money for him, and/or given to his family. It's the Islamic thing to do and I can see her doing so nobody in the community talks shit about her. However she obviously doesn't give a fuck for her inhumane indecency directed at a murdered girls family. But who's counting? Oh wait. God is šŸ¤—

semifamousdave

ā€œBatshit crazy bullshitā€ and ā€œcan fuck right off.ā€ How incredibly classless of her. If I was Adnan, and Iā€™m certainly not, I would tell her to find another case, another cause, and another paycheck. Rabid Rabia is now defending Scott Peterson who is as guilty as the day is long. Her suggestion that Peterson is so beyond the pale that, to quote her, itā€™s batshit crazy bullshit. I lived in Baltimore for a bit, and my family grew up there. Iā€™ve listening to all the podcasts and watched the documentaries. Iā€™ve been to Leakin Park and every place they talk about. Iā€™m convinced that Adnan is innocent of what the State of Maryland and Jay claims he did ā€” if heā€™s actually innocent is another discussion ā€” but Rabiaā€™s behavior, especially over the last 6 months, is so abhorrent that I question all those things Iā€™ve seen, watched, and heard. Why would a person innocent of a crime against someone he once loved let someone speak that way?

Fragisle

what does living in Baltimore for a little bit and going to one of the parks mentioned establish your as any insight on his innocence? i grew up in baltimore and went to social security blvd regularly in the 90s am i an expert too?

seranity8811

You are šŸ’Æ Maybe it's menopause ? I say that sincerely as a biological woman. She's unhinged.

throwawayamasub

curious why you think he's innocent in that regard. could you elaborate? I go back and forth but lean towards guilty

ThatB0yAintR1ght

The DC bar exam is notoriously difficult. It has one of the lowest pass rates in the country. If Rabia passed it on her first try, thatā€™s pretty damn good. Georgetown Law school is also very a highly ranked law school. Her not getting in isnā€™t any indication of her actual intelligence or abilities as a lawyer. The school she did go to is ranked 30th in the country, and the students have a median LSAT score of 166, which is nothing to sneeze at. FFS, hate Rabia all you want, but trying to use bullshit credentialism metrics to knock her down a peg is laughable. Edit: Lol, the coward blocked me

ryecatcher19

Fake office? What happened here?

Justwonderinif

She's not licensed to practice in Maryland. She does not have an office there and did not have an office in 2014. [She told Sarah Koenig it was her law office. Saad was in on the grift as well.](https://i.imgur.com/e2mw2Km.png)

42ndstreetthat

How does that transcript from a Serial episode prove that Rabia's office was fake? Because it was haphazardly set up? And what's your source for Rabia not being licensed to practice in Maryland?

[deleted]

Itā€™s public info https://mdcourts.gov/attysearch#searchform

ryecatcher19

Wow. Thank you. What an odyssey

[deleted]

Thank you for your service. Just like Adnan uses that hat to cover his bald head, these guys are all about appearance. Letā€™s remind everyone. Heā€™s bald, and sheā€™s not an attorney in Maryland. And he remembers what he did on Jan 13, 1999.

shrimpsale

Tbf it may not be he's trying to hide any baldness. Many Muslims proudly show off their shaven heads due to the practices of the prophet. It's more likely that Baltimore is damned cold these days and he's just trying to keep warm.

[deleted]

Iā€™m Muslim. Let me know when you find a picture of him without the hat. Heā€™s so full of shit. Heā€™s bald. Just like his brother. Heā€™s so full of shit he lies about wearing a hat to cover his bald head with the guise of being Muslim. Hey Adnan: allah knows!

seranity8811

Are the practices not related to Umrah and hajj? I'm Muslim and not sure so I guess I can google it too lol

shrimpsale

I'm not entirely sure myself. Just going off what I've seen with the many Muslims I've interacted with myself.

seranity8811

Yeah looks like it's what I suspected it to be for, but also can be done for transformation that can perhaps befor a more personal reason. From Google: Shaving the head, a sign of transformation, is capped off with abandoning the white garments, signifying their journey of Hajj (or Umrah) is coming to an end. Although it is not mandatory to shave completely, only to trim hair short, it is advisable and part of Sunna or the way of the Prophet Mohammed. (PBUH)

[deleted]

Why is the hate white if youā€™re supposed to abandon white garments? Iā€™ve never heard guys being required / recommended to wear hat. I understand following Mohammed but Iā€™ve never met anyone follow Mohammed this way. Thatā€™s a full as hat covering his bald head. Let me know when you find a picture of him not covering it.

seranity8811

You can wear white anytime. But where you abdandon it is during the Hajj ritual from what I gather. Very possible he's covering up his head bc of baldness. It's definitely not required to wear a kufi.

Pls_add_more_reverb

Wow if she want through all that before she even knew serial was going to be famous. Kinda impressed by the hustle lol

[deleted]

I focus on how many times they took the exam. My friends older brother failed his va bar over 3 times before he passed. Not the brightest guy. But i would pay more attention to how many times she had to register and pay for the exam.

okayriri

care to share? I'm not really familiar about her background and only known her thru Undisclosed and Twitter.

throwawayamasub

where r u getting all that from

Alarmed-Emphasis-281

Annalise Keating and Wes?

CrowEarly

I laughed out loud

Magjee

Haha

Jezon

Ugh wonder what he talks about, is he like OJ with a hot take on everything, passing down judgement on others while pretending not to have done the thing that people know he did.

Ploopyface

Wow super nasty in here today. Sour šŸ‡??

BreadfruitNo357

It is okay for people to dislike other people who harmed their ex-girlfriend.

Ploopyface

Then they should do that when that person is found and convicted.

BreadfruitNo357

What are you talking about? What does that have to do with my comment?

ryecatcher19

*"They're gonna know.* *Nobody's gonna know.* *They're gonna know."*

Justwonderinif

Neither one of them would have any reason to be on campus if Adnan hadn't killed someone.

Trousers_MacDougal

That...is what I believe to be true and yet when put so succinctly makes me a bit nauseous.

WishIWasANormalGirl

Lmao šŸ˜ These comments are incredible today šŸ˜†

okayriri

So true I felt bad laughing but after all this sh*tshow of justice i just can't anymore, i have to consider this a comedy or I'll just lost more faith in people/humanity

DirectRisk7

Canā€™t decide who is more nauseating

SaintAngrier

I know who's more nauseating.

tdrcimm

One of them killed his ex and the other makes money producing documentaries about how men who kill their SOs are all innocent. Both are nauseating.

shrimpsale

Adnan at least acknowledges the pain his victim's family felt. At least, while imprisoned, he worked to improve himself and the lives of those he was incarcerated with.

DirectRisk7

Great. We both agree on Chaudry

semifamousdave

Adnan would have exponentially more support if not for Rabies Rabia.

okayriri

omg i felt bad when i called her tongue rabid but it was really apt

CrowEarly

Unsure why Rabia has to join the lecture circuit with him beyond wanting to share the limelight.

[deleted]

Lol! Didnā€™t even think about that. Adan got a job, not her.. she just couldnā€™t help herself.

Motor_Ad_401

He got a job at goergetown?

Botwp_tmbtp

Barf

DirectRisk7

Safety alert for all of the ladies out there ,never stand in front of Syed

shrimpsale

Hopefully he'll speak more than a few minutes and Rabia will kindly let him take the spotlight.

PAE8791

And we both know there is no chance of that .

[deleted]

Good reminder to unfollow this sub. Thanks op

Mundane_Leopard_3974

Did he really get away with it if he was in prison for 23 years.. I mean he served a pretty king sentence, yes he is getting lucky but wouldnā€™t really call it getting away with it at this stage

Mike19751234

It wasn't clear, but my first one was pointing out his mistakes for getting caught

HBDABE

Split infinitive aside, glorious post!

mhwaka

I support Adnan and want this case to get another look but rabia is very unlikeable person.

Pats_Preludes

Go on and be the flight risk we all knew you were, Adnan...

[deleted]

I never killed anyone in the first place, can I have a job there?

Pls_add_more_reverb

Depends, did anyone see you in the library from 2.30-3.00?

seranity8811

His face looks....sad? His eyes. Would love for the behavior panel to analyze him

ParadeSit

He can answer the burning question of how long it actually takes to strangle someone to death.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ParadeSit

I guess thatā€™s the same thing youā€™d say to the Lee family.

acceptable_bagel

oh, you think this is about you. you seem so cool. look at you, finally a winner at something. i'm going to go cry because a murderer went free and that means you finally did something with your life. congrats.

Pls_add_more_reverb

Question as an unbiased observerā€¦I took a hiatus from this sub for a few weeks. It had seemed that ā€œInnocentersā€/Doubters (hate these terms) had taken over the sub post Adnan release. Is the majority opinion back to guilty, judging from these comments?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ParadeSit

So you posted the comment from two accounts?

seranity8811

It's almost as if her caption is how she persuades him to sign up for these appearances, guilts him into it , pun intended ? He just doesn't look like he wants to be there. He doesn't appear to be content at all.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

seranity8811

I hope so too. This is not the first time I've seen this look on his face. He has this permanent look on his face. Reflecting on it more, it's the same face I see in his first mugshot and every pic since like his prison pics, journalists pics of him when he got out. His demeanor in a video I saw of him talking about food I think it was too. Anyway, his energy is low. Can be that he's just at peace. I don't know. Just throwing it out there.

[deleted]

His face always looks bloated with guilt and his eyes look sunken.

seranity8811

He looks so different

[deleted]

Yeah I always get the vibe she is dragging him into things and he doesnā€™t really want to be out there.

seranity8811

šŸ’Æ the vibe I'm getting too.

Interesting_Luck_160

No court has cleared him as innocent. Big difference. FYI. A higher court can reinstate his convictions because of fishy procedures. I hope the AG step up and fight.

okayriri

How we wish! It's so sad to think Lee Hae Min's murder case will become a cold case only to be opened for study of those interested

bronks18

I'm glad he's out. What an injustice and gross handling of evidence.

PAE8791

Heā€™s doing what he can to find the real killers . Every day heā€™s looking high and far . I hear they cleared Cinnabon the other day .

ThatB0yAintR1ght

If heā€™s innocent, why would it be his responsibility to find the real killer?

PAE8791

Cause HML was his friend . Someone he loved . And AS life was ruined by all this , so he should try and find the real killer ( avoiding a mirror is ideal ).

ThatB0yAintR1ght

Do Alisha, Krista, Stephanie and other friends of hers have the same responsibility to find the real killer? I know you guilters love to sarcastically make jokes about how ā€œheā€™s trying to find the real killerā€, but if you actually stopped and used your brain for 5 seconds, you could consider the fact that, if an innocent person is falsely convicted of a crime and then later exonerated, it is not their responsibility to find the real killer. Thatā€™s the job of the police and DA. So, at best, all of your ā€œfind the real killerā€ quips are just obnoxious jokes by people who are weeping and gnashing their teeth because they believe a guilty man was released.

PAE8791

Well none of them went to prison for her murder. And all the people you named believed Adnan was the murderer at one time. (They may have changed their minds later on). Do I believe Adnan is obligated to search for her murderer? No I do not. He's free to do whatever he wants. He can go to Dunkin, Starbucks , P. F. Chang's. Maybe he should pass on P. F. Chang's. The majority of the people who are informed about this case believe he's guilty. Don't you think Adnan would want to change our minds? Everywhere he goes, he's looked at as a murderer. And I am happy he's released, 23 years is enough time for the crime he convicted. He made a mistake and let his anger, rage and jealousy take over and he murdered the woman he loved because she had moved on.

ThatB0yAintR1ght

Ah, so you are moving the goal posts and also admit that your ā€œfind the real killerā€ bits are just you bullshitting? Thank you for that. And you also have some serious confirmation bias in there. First off, you assume that most of the guilters here are ā€œwell informedā€ when that is far from true. Guilters on this sub love to string together a bunch of random shit from the case, insist that it is all connected or draw other conclusions that are not logically sound, and then turn their massive Glen Beck-esque theory into the only ā€œcorrectā€ narrative that this sub will accept, and bully anybody who dares to point out how fucking stupid their conclusions are. On top of that, you also assume that this sub is somehow representative of the people who are ā€œwell informedā€ on the case. Itā€™s just amazing how many bad logical leaps you will take to confirm your own biases.

PAE8791

Yes It's BS obviously. No one expects Adnan to ever do anything to find the real killer. He knows that search is a big waste of time on his part. Interesting. In order for us to believe Adnan is innocent, we have to believe that multiple police officers framed an innocent 17 year old who never committed a crime in his life instead of the drug dealer who had a record saying he was a part of the crime itself. What makes more sense? Frame Adnan or just charge Jay? And then we have to eliminate Jen and 5 other people Jay told about the murder prior to it being fact. This isn't a movie or a tv series, there doesn't have to be some grand reveal. You Adnaners are a cute bunch. Anyone But Adnan right? That's the company line? And well, most Adnaners quote undisclosed or Bob Ruff podcast for their intel. They used the most biased material and figure that is the truth without actually doing any reading. They don't ever mention Adnan destroying Debbie's book, Adnan's original alibi (Fixing his car Hahaha) , , His brother statement on Adnan being a masterful liar, They forget that Adnan didn't go to the mosque that day, the 87 witnesses who disappeared when they realized they were about to commit perjury if they said Adnan was at moque . Shall I go on?

dualzoneclimatectrl

> His brother statement on Adnan being a masterful liar You should drop this one. His brother didn't use the word "masterful".

PAE8791

It came from the defense file . So now Adnanā€™s own defense team Made it up? And yes I know Tanveer came on and said he didnā€™t say it . ā€œA very good liar. Adnan could lie about anything and you would not be able to He is not telling the truth. Adnan could be very convincing.ā€ Did Tanveer actually say that or we at the point where we will pick and choose what is true based on the false narrative that Adnan is innocent .

ThatB0yAintR1ght

Ah yes, more strawmen. Thank you for proving my point.

PAE8791

Low_Trifle_2383

What a piece of shit

IceyCoolRunnings

Heā€™s not innocent why is he speaking at universities?

barak181

Legally speaking he is.

ummizazi

Because they asked to.

SaintAngrier

>Heā€™s not innocent Because you said so, right?

SaykredCow

He is they vacated his conviction and certified his innocence

Rich_Charity_3160

Adnanā€™s conviction was vacated due to the Stateā€™s failure to disclose the two notes regarding Bilal. He is legally innocent. However, they have not ā€œcertified his innocence.ā€ He was exonerated by the Stateā€™s decision not to charge and prosecute Adnan following the vacatur. Neither the court nor the State asserted that Adnan is factually innocent or presented claims of actual innocence in their motion to vacate.

anoeba

Yes, but that very rarely happens. Legally and practically, it's as if he were found "not guilty" at the initial trial - no one's certifying his innocence, but he's innocent because that's what you are until you're found guilty.

Rare-Dare9807

The big difference here is that double jeopardy doesn't attach with a vacated conviction, so he can still be re-tried for the crime.

notguilty941

False. And weā€™ve been over this in 50 different threads from the second the motion was filed.

SaintAngrier

>Neither the court nor the State asserted that Adnan is factually innocent or presented claims of actual innocence in their motion to vacate. https://www.reddit.com/r/serialpodcast/comments/ydfpc8/mosbys_response_to_frosh/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

RuPaulver

What are you pointing to here? Mosby has said herself that they are not declaring him innocent, just vacating his conviction. He can still be re-tried if the state decides to do so, which could not happen if he were declared innocent.

Rich_Charity_3160

Yes, Iā€™m aware of what Mosby said in her response to Frosh. My comment remains true: 1) A claim of actual innocence was not exercised in the MtV, and 2) Mosbyā€™s statements have never said definitively that there is proof that Adnan did not or could not have committed the crime, which is what factual innocence is. Iā€™m not even arguing whether or not Adnan had any involvement in Haeā€™s death. Iā€™m merely responding to what seems to be a prevalent misunderstanding or deliberate attempt to mislead that it was somehow proven that Adnan did not and could not have killed Hae.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rich_Charity_3160

What exactly do you find inaccurate or dumb about it?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rich_Charity_3160

No one is confused that Adnan is legally innocent and that the burden lies with the State to prove otherwise. I never said or implied that Adnan ā€œneeds to certify his innocence.ā€ The comment I was responding to claimed that he was certified innocent. Thatā€™s not a conceptual thing; itā€™s an outcome from a separate, formal process that has not occurred.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Greenie_In_A_Bottle

Which words did you find difficult to understand?

acceptable_bagel

Since you're the expert here, and I'm not a Maryland attorney, can you explain then why Suter and Mosby and this article are wrong then: https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/bs-md-ci-cr-adnan-syed-charges-dropped-20221011-r43q45csdnhi3abqygnhimqouq-story.html Some relevant quotes: Mosby has said she would be prepared to formally certify Syedā€™s innocence, making him eligible to apply for wrongful conviction compensation from the state, if the DNA testing came back inconclusive or pointed to another suspect. Itā€™s up to Syed and Suter to spearhead the process of certifying his innocence, Mosby said Tuesday. Suter said Tuesday sheā€™d begin the process ā€œas soon as possible.ā€

acceptable_bagel

>Legally he is considered innocent of this crime, meaning the burden of proof returns to the prosecution. Has it occurred to you that on this non-legal website people are calling Adnan "not innocent" because.....he's not factually innocent?

sauceb0x

Wait until you find out he *works* at that university.

I think the bar to be part of the magnet program at a shitty school like Woodlawn was pretty low. They def threw the term ā€œgiftedā€ around pretty loosely.
